Chapter 1139 No Hiding

Chapter 1139 No Hidden Secrets (First Update)

Princess Shuri, riding in a hovercar piloted by a former Warhound agent, sped through the burning streets and the roadblocks and firing positions set up by the First Secret Service of Fimbulwinter, accompanied by several Talon fighters, to the communications center. When she arrived at the building, all the staff were already prepared. In the brightly lit studio, the presenter of Wakanda's royal television station sat in his seat, and all the equipment was ready for use. If you ignored the shattered glass walls, the shell casings scattered on the floor, the bloodstains and bone fragments left to rub off, the communications center looked no different from any other day. T'Challa's ex-girlfriend, Nakia, and an elderly former Warhound member had been waiting in the studio for some time. As soon as Nakia saw Shuri emerge from the elevator, she immediately stood up and handed her her speech and some documents.

"Hello," Princess Surrey greeted the old war dog agent first. "Do you know what you're doing?"

"I suspected it when I saw it on the Claws, but I didn't expect it to be this serious," the veteran War Dog agent sighed. He was the War Dog organization's undercover agent who infiltrated En Job's inner circle years ago. After a tireless journey and numerous transfers, the War Dog agents finally brought him from Oakland to Wakanda. He arrived in Wakanda an hour ago, and the sight of his long-lost hometown burning brightly in his eyes was unbearable; the feeling of being in another world was surreal. "I don't know if he'll still recognize me. After En Job died, I tried to rescue his wife from the FBI prison, but I failed, so there's no one to take care of his son."

The old war dog looked apologetic, but his apology wasn't directed at the person before him. "When I heard from him again, he had changed his name and grown into a soldier in Afghanistan," he said. "It was my fault, Princess. If I hadn't acted so impulsively back then, things might have turned out completely differently."

"Why didn't you ask the War Dogs for help back then?" Su Rui asked, frowning. "Things would have been much simpler that way. Even if En Job's wife was an ordinary woman, the War Dogs might have rescued her and brought her and En Jadaka to live in Wakanda."

"Because of your father."

"What?"

"You're talking about the current approach. The situation was different back then. Ulysses Klaue's case was the largest vibranium theft in Wakanda's history. All the War Hounds became extremely sensitive, including your father, otherwise they wouldn't have sent me out. To cover up the truth... I don't mean to insult the late King, but after that incident, I couldn't be sure of his attitude towards En Jadaka, do you understand what I mean?" The old War Hound gave a bitter laugh, his gray hair clinging tightly to his scalp, and hardship mercilessly etched wrinkles on his face. "Although your father killed En Job to save me, he still committed patricide. The crimes he and En Job committed were enough for the War Hounds back then to eliminate all witnesses to uphold the honor of the Golden Horde. So that document was the only paper record, and I kept it, thinking that perhaps one day your father would want to take it back. Or I was ordered to burn it, or someone came to take my life... But nothing happened, nothing at all. It's as if the matter was forgotten, no one ever mentioned it again, and I was forgotten in Oakland."

"I understand. Thank you for your courage, Warhound. Today you will not only acknowledge my father's crimes, but also En Job's. We will not hide anything from the people; this is important, I need them to know." Princess Shuri glanced at Nakia, who nodded, then turned and instructed the studio to prepare for the broadcast. Princess Shuri had strongly insisted on including the television station above this communications center on the Fire Knights' attack list for this very moment. She knew the importance of public opinion; with the tribal council completely paralyzed, this was necessary to reverse T'Challa's disadvantage in the succession duel. "Let's begin. The sooner this is over, the better. The Latvinians are getting impatient. Oh, and Nakia…"

Nakia, about to leave the studio, stopped and turned back to look at Princess Shuri standing under the spotlight. Only two days had passed since the coronation struggle, and Nakia found herself almost disbelieving the girl she'd grown up with. Shuri used to always follow T'Challa, and T'Challa always followed her. Who could have imagined that the innocent little tagalong, the girl forced into the Harnburg research center to escape political influence, would become such a decisive person? Those warhounds who followed her out of Wakanda in search of support, and Dora Mirajane, while not entirely supporting her decision, were all deeply impressed by her decisiveness, as if the spirit of the Fourth Dynasty's Sologon matriarch had been revitalized within her.

"Shut my brother up, then get to work," Su Rui said coldly. "I don't care what methods you use, you have to make him remember he's a man, the future King of Wakanda, understand?"

"You might want to take a look at this, my lord." The Dora Mirajane members handed the data panel to En Jadaka.

When the armored forces of the Infernal Knights surrounded the palace, N'Jadaka donned his Black Panther suit. He took up the Kal'anga Spear, a weapon of Wakandan relic status, and all the other weapons he could muster, including the pulse rifles used by the Wakandan palace guards. Although he demanded another gladiatorial contest, N'Jadaka never gave up hope of breaking out. He couldn't understand why his army had crumbled so quickly, or what methods T'Chaka's descendants had used to make the kidnapped nobles surrender without hesitation, leaving him now besieged in the palace.

Although the bullet gun couldn't penetrate the vibranium-woven Black Panther suit, its powerful kinetic energy and the energy released by the high-explosive warhead forcefully pushed him back. En Jadaka once again felt the sensation of being hit by a pistol bullet while wearing body armor. Perhaps in order to capture him alive, the Infernal Knights didn't use plasma weapons, but the others weren't so lucky; all those who tried to break through were met with a crushing defeat.

Lasers, explosives, and plasma—all kinds of lethal methods were used, leaving corpses in the direction of the breakout. When the massive armored vehicles used their onboard weaponry, even corpses were left few behind. Even if someone did manage to break through the barrage of fire, those super soldiers wielding melee weapons and wearing powered armor were not easy to defeat. After several attempts, no one was willing to break out anymore. En Jadaka could see the despair in their eyes. He had seen it many times in Afghanistan and the Middle East, from jihadists to American soldiers. He was familiar with that look—En Jadaka knew that continuing to pressure them under these circumstances would only make them give up completely and surrender to those outside. Not everyone was Dora Mirajah. These people swore allegiance to the Golden Tribe, but there was more than one Golden Tribe.

On a restored civilian radio channel, Princess Shuri sat in the studio addressing the people of Wakanda, declaring that this was a war confined to the royal families. She apologized on behalf of the Golden Horde, then asked the people to stay home, promising the chaos would soon end. She introduced the Wakanda to her father, T'Chaka, and her uncle, En-Job, as well as the identity of the old man sitting beside her. She invited the old man to reveal the truth behind the alleged murder of her father's blood relatives, while the old warhound recounted the serious crimes En-Job committed in collusion with Ulysses Klaue to obtain weapons.

These are all claims supported by evidence.

As Shuri and the old war dog began to delve deeper into what N. Jadaka had done to survive, his expression grew increasingly grim. When they mentioned his time in the U.S. Marine Corps and his massacres in the Middle East, N. Jadaka tossed his data panel aside, his anger barely contained. He completely failed to see the last shot of the video: T'Challa, healed after taking the Heart-Shaped Herb, standing beside Nakia wielding two ring blades. "These pampered bastards have no idea what I had to sacrifice to survive," N. Job gripped his pulse rifle tightly. "I will not surrender, never."
