Chapter 114 Author's Note and Book Launch Notes

The protagonist's mother, Jezebel, has a very special name because it means "chaste" in Hebrew. To discuss this name, we must consider the two Jezebels from both the Old and New Testaments.

In the Old Testament, Jezebel was the daughter of King Baal of Sidon and the queen of Ahab, the seventh king of Israel after its division. She seduced Ahab by building a temple to the false god Baal in the capital of Israel, the chosen people of Jehovah. Baal was the so-called sun god. She also erected a pillar to the false god Asherah, the so-called goddess of fertility, who was extremely wicked and promiscuous. Therefore, Jehovah, the one true God, was greatly angered.

Jezebel, treacherous and ruthless, seized power and murdered many of Jehovah's prophets in a kingdom that worshipped the Lord, while simultaneously supporting four hundred prophets who served Asherah and another four hundred and fifty who served Baal. The famous prophet Elijah, through the power of the Lord, gathered the Israelites on the summit of Mount Carmel and, incited by the incitement of the Israelites, proved that Baal, whom Jezebel worshipped, was a false god. This angered the Israelites, who killed the false gods' prophets. Jezebel was furious and vowed to kill Elijah, but he escaped her clutches. Jezebel committed another crime: to help her husband Ahab seize Naboth's vineyard, she maliciously sent men to falsely accuse Naboth, resulting in his death by stone-stone.

Because Jezebel was extremely wicked, the prophet Elijah prophesied that dogs would eat Jezebel's flesh in the future (1 Kings 21:23). Eleven years after Ahab's death, the Lord anointed Jehu as king of Israel and instructed Jehu to kill Ahab's entire household as punishment for Jezebel's sin of murdering the prophets.

Jehu, with his army, first killed Jezebel's son, and according to the prophecy of the Lord, threw his body into the field of Naboth. Then he surrounded Jezebel's dwelling. Jezebel powdered and combed her hair, preparing to die gracefully. As she looked out the window, Jehu looked up at the window and said, “Whoever above obeys me, throw her down.”

Two or three eunuchs threw Jezebel off the window, killing her instantly. Her blood splattered on the walls and on the horses. Jehu drove his horse over her body and into the palace. After Jehu had eaten, he thought that Jezebel was still a member of the royal family, so he ordered her to be buried. But the field dogs had already eaten her flesh, leaving only her skull, feet, and hands.

Next, let's talk about Jezebel in the New Testament.

This Jezebel was a woman from Thyatira who claimed to be a prophet. She tempted the saints to commit adultery and led them to eat food offered to false gods. God said that she had been given an opportunity to repent, but she refused. Therefore, God will make her bedridden; and those who have done evil with her, if they do not repent, will share in the suffering and be struck down by God. In this way, all the churches will know that God searches the hearts and minds of people and will repay each person according to their deeds.

Logically, a woman with this name shouldn't be considered the Virgin Mary, yet she still gave birth to the Holy Child. This is a great contradiction—because anyone who is the Virgin Mary is without sin, which is the principle of "Immaculate Conception." This doctrine originated from the "Immaculate Conception of Mary" declared by the Council of Constantinople in 381 and the "Pure Conception of Mary" established by Pius IX in 1854, which is the so-called "Immaculate Conception of Mary."

How did these doctrines come about? They were the result of a referendum in the Roman Catholic Church, in which 570 out of 665 senior clergy members voted in favor, and the "Heavenly authorities" immediately issued their approval.

In 1858, the Virgin Mary appeared to an innocent little girl named Bernadette in Lourdes, telling her, "I am the Immaculate Conception." The specifics are not detailed here; you can look them up yourself. Christians were delighted to share these stories, allowing us a glimpse into their thinking.

On December 8, 1933, Pius XI canonized the little girl as a saint on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and built a church at the site of the "miracle." Over the next half-century, nearly 200 million believers flocked there, during which time more than 70 miraculous events occurred. Interestingly, however, the proportion of believers who miraculously recovered from their illnesses was pitifully small, and most simply stayed at home and suddenly became cured.

Well, no one can even say for sure whether they were originally sick. Maybe it was some strange illness like not wanting to pray, hysteria, or laziness. They could be sick when they wanted to be sick and healed when they wanted to be healed.

The woman named Chastity committed evil deeds, yet ascended to heaven because she gave birth to the Holy Son. Because of the "Immortal Mother's Pure Conception" and the "Immaculate Conception," the woman with this name is naturally innocent, which is the origin of the title of this book.

The implication is too sarcastic to be explicitly stated, otherwise it would be easily censored, but I believe readers will be able to grasp it.

Then there's the protagonist's origin—from Jewish legend. Judaism does not recognize Christianity, and the Messiah they expect has not yet been born. The protagonist's abilities, namely the Stigmata, originate from the Ten Commandments of Solomon. Solomon was the son of King David and the builder of the Temple. When the protagonist's special abilities are revealed in the future, they will also be related to the story of King Solomon, and in these stories, the seventy-two demon gods are indispensable.

Some of these demons are demons by nature, while others are not; you can search for the specific stories on Baidu. However, one thing I can spoil is that the temple signifies the protagonist's mage tower. I've already decided what the protagonist's mage tower will look like and where it will be built. It represents a mage's highest achievement, and it took me a long time to design.

Then let's talk about the product launch.

This book was released quite late. When the editor asked me at the end of last month if I wanted to publish it (at that time, it already had 20 words), I hesitated a lot. Why? Because a veteran writer from the same period got published on Sanjiang! That really made me furious! The recommendation slots hadn't stopped since the trial promotion began! The veteran writer even gave himself a million-yuan reward, which made me so angry that I wrote it down in my notebook.

But there's nothing I can do about it. They have money and can manipulate the system, while I can only survive by following their posts. Sometimes I revise a paragraph repeatedly, and sometimes I will specifically log into the author's assistant to revise a particular word in a chapter before it is published. I have a very, very serious obsessive-compulsive disorder. I am extremely particular about word choice and sentence structure. If it weren't for the threat of a perfect attendance requirement, I might revise a sentence repeatedly, scrutinizing foreshadowing and details, until I am satisfied before publishing it.

I originally intended to guide thinking, but I gave up on that later because most people don't read books to think.

I often hear readers say that the updates aren't enough, but personally, I find 4000 words per paragraph to be the most comfortable writing style. However, if you request it, I can add a few more words; chapters like 2500 words each are also possible.
