Chapter 1492 The Lunar War

Chapter 1492 The Lunar War (Part 4)

"This engine technology incorporates 14,826 advanced technologies and designs, including nanomaterials and atomic-level metallurgy. The space elevator orbital tower boasts advanced technologies worth six figures. Any one of these will create a technological advantage between nations, completely breaking down technological barriers. Everyone knows that Yugoslavia's space technology made entering and leaving the atmosphere as easy as traveling, and you have also witnessed the solar system logistics system built by shuttles and orbital drones. These are all essential technologies for humanity to enter the interstellar age."

Viktor von Dum had the drone bring over the data board, and said to the person sitting opposite him, "Mr. Ambassador, you should know how valuable this single international cooperative research institute for engine technology is. It's like I'm giving you patents one by one in exchange for industrial raw materials, political silence, and a much wider market."

The ambassador blinked, avoiding the regent's demands. While he was very curious about the ongoing lunar war and eager to gather information, he knew that if a war was raging on the far side of the moon, he couldn't do anything sitting there. He'd rather understand some basic concepts. "Comparatively, I'm more interested in the part about immortals. I don't understand the word 'immortal.' It's Latin, isn't it? I've seen the emperor's television recordings and speeches; he's certainly a respected leader, but I don't understand the concept."

"It means He has lived for a very long time and will not age, continuing to live no matter what happens until the heat death of the universe. You have reason to believe that He has traveled throughout the Earth and the Milky Way, and played many roles in the development of human civilization." Victor von Doom did not think he was lying. This was destined; the Emperor had to undergo a long journey and reincarnation. However, he did not intend to say too much to an ordinary person who did not understand the concept of outer dimensions and string theory, after all, time is not linear, and neither is fate. However, the Regent did not know when the Emperor's fate would begin; he only knew that the Emperor was destined to face an eternally lonely journey.

"I know this is hard to believe. But for a being capable of traversing time and space at will, these things are unimportant. The power He possesses is simply endless energy from beyond dimensions... I will not share the technical principles behind it. Just as I would not share nuclear power technology and nuclear fuel with countries that lack the technology and knowledge to maintain nuclear power plants, the horrors caused by nuclear leaks are far more terrifying than those of primitive humans. This is not because He is being selfish; in fact, He hopes that everyone can move towards the key points of evolution like Him, but He also does not want the human race to become destitute cosmic refugees before truly mastering this power."

"It is indeed hard to believe. All the rules of the human race are designed for species with a lifespan of no more than a hundred years, including culture, morality, and law. In your words, none of these seem to be able to restrain such an extraordinary person, who transcends the Three Realms and is not within the Five Elements. This concept belongs only to gods."

"God... if you want to know why He wants to destroy religion, then the 'Unified Truth' will give you the answer," Regent Victor von Doom said. "I know His thinking is very impatient, and the world is not ready to accept Him, but He doesn't care at all. If the world continues like this, then the human race will miss the most critical window of development. This opportunity is constantly slipping away, and every minute we waste represents a step towards the end of civilization."

"An alien fleet?" the ambassador asked. After the regent nodded in confirmation, the middle-aged man continued, "Our country's space telescopes have indeed observed relevant traces, which are completely consistent with the information sent by your country. However, our experts still cannot confirm that it is an alien fleet. Even so, facing an alien species capable of faster-than-light travel, humanity has very little chance of winning."

"But this is an opportunity, an opportunity to unite the people of the world. The hand I extend to you now is that opportunity." The Regent stared intently into the middle-aged man's eyes, in which the latter saw an iron will. "To seize this opportunity, He is willing to break all the increasingly complex morals and laws of human civilization, which are all insignificant in the face of the bottom line of survival. He doesn't mind starting a bloody war, just so that the human race can continue to exist. This is His mission. He needs others with the same ideals to stand with Him and save this world from the ice that could collapse at any moment."

Viktor von Doom reached out and summoned a drone to pour him and the ambassador another glass of wine. The ambassador, unaware of what he'd already finished, found his mouth dry from the conversation. Think tanks and international relations institutes had repeatedly analyzed the Emperor, and intelligence agencies had attempted to decipher his psychological patterns to predict his next move. But now, the Regent (Prime Minister) had laid bare the Emperor's true intentions and nature, and the truth—for the time being—was incredibly difficult to accept. As the Regent himself had said, the world was never ready to accept such an uncontrollable person. Let alone pressing the nuclear button to destroy Him, anyone capable of doing so might be teleported to their doom before even doing so. The ambassador was also beginning to understand; he realized the Emperor was attempting to establish an international strategic balance beyond nuclear deterrence.

"You might think, how could there be such a foolish person in this world to hand over the keys to international status, political power, and wealth to someone else? Please don't forget, for Him, these things are merely means, not ends. His sole purpose is the continuation of the human race. The problematic system must be overthrown, and the human race must shift its attention to what is necessary. If those who uphold this pathological system choose to obstruct Him, then He will have to bear a moral dilemma, even if He abhors the pain of war. Compared to the death of tens of thousands, the extinction of humanity—anyone knows which to choose."

The ambassador remained silent for a long time, then nodded slightly. "I understand. Let's talk about other areas of cooperation; another delegation will be visiting later. If you don't mind, I'd like to know... how many ambassadors have you spoken with?"

Regent Victor von Doom smiled. "You'll find out. As for now, shouldn't we first look at the situation on the moon?"

The final flash of the shield was blinding. The bombardment satellite immediately ceased laser output and instead channeled electrical energy into its propulsion engines, propelling it into the appropriate orbit. The once-illuminated dark side of the moon was plunged back into darkness. After a brief half-second pause, missiles, guided rockets, and ground fire support forces with pre-set firing parameters began the second phase of the bombardment. Gray dust began to rise from the crater ridges. The moon's low gravity caused this gray dust cloud to expand continuously, like volcanic ash. Within this pale gray dust cloud, powerful, high-speed annular air currents and blinding flashes of light continuously propelled the dust cloud to expand further.

The missiles and shells used in this phase were primarily used to strip away the mountains and metal structures near the Attilan lunar base, creating fire channels for ground troops to attack. Thermoplastic and plasma warheads were the two most commonly used types. The molten and blasted concrete and metal scattered like meteors in the low-gravity environment. Gases and objects that had once existed but were not fixed inside the Attilan base were all mercilessly pushed out of the gaps by the air pressure, tracing amazing parabolic arcs as they crashed to the ground along with the debris.

Meanwhile, hundreds of assault transport craft carrying genetically modified soldiers streaked through the void, then changed course at specific points, plunging from orbit into the high-flying cloud of gray dust on the moon. Various fragments, like micrometeoroids traversing the asteroid belt, pelted the assault transport craft's sturdy, heat-resistant armor. At the very front of this assault craft formation was a black and gold assault craft, its nose adorned with the insignia of a golden eagle and thunderbolts.

This means that this assault transport ship was, and is currently, carrying the emperor to the battlefield.
