Chapter 1581 The Lunar War

Chapter 1581 The Lunar War (Ninety-Three)

The keys have been transferred to Aparish's data panels and then distributed to the accompanying technicians in the convoy. These technicians possess extensive knowledge of alien technology, particularly Kree technology, including reverse engineering and coding techniques. They will be responsible for verifying the authenticity of the keys and using these digital keys to open the laboratory doors.

Even if Black Bolt doesn't give out the digital key, Aparishia's mission will remain unchanged.

His orders were to have the First Company forcibly dismantle the security system of the genetic biology laboratory, enter the laboratory to take away the data, and dispatch a small team to guard and protect the important genetic engineering experimental equipment and the technicians researching that equipment. Many of these scientists were top scholars from various Hydra research institutions, and many of them had participated in the research and improvement of power armor, the development of genetically modified soldiers, and so on. Many of their students and friends had participated in the construction of the Olympus Foundry on Mars. These scholars were one of the Emperor's most valuable assets. In the six months before the Battle of Attilan began, each scientist received relevant training, including low-gravity walking, space first aid, and the use of space equipment, to ensure that they could complete scientific research tasks in extreme environments. Aparisha knew that his genetically modified soldiers would have to give their lives to protect the safety of these scholars if necessary.

Hordes of noisy creatures tumbled and rolled out of the ruins of buildings on both sides, frolicking and bickering, singing blasphemous songs that pierced the eardrums, as they burrowed into the corpses of the Inhuman civilians on the ground, ripping out their entrails with their filthy claws, waving their foul-smelling limbs, and balancing their empty shells on their heads like hats. When they saw the armored convoy slowly driving into the ruins, they cheered and surged forward, bouncing and piling up joyfully in front of the tracked armored vehicles equipped with assault shovels. In an instant, they scattered, climbing onto the armored vehicles as if playing a game. Even when the tracks rolled over these tiny demons, no taller than a mortal's calf but with sharp claws, their incredibly elastic bodies quickly springed back to their original shape. They let out terrifying laughter, scratching at the steel with their sharp, filthy little claws, as if it were some kind of amusing game.

Genetically modified warriors wielding flamethrowers leaped from the armored vehicles, unleashing scorching flames upon the imps. Even as the flames engulfed the armored vehicles and tanks, they showed no sign of stopping. The imps' initially joyful cries abruptly turned into screams of agony. As they attempted to attack the flamethrower-wielding warriors, the machine guns on the armored vehicles, manually operated by the soldiers, aimed at these beings that should not exist in the material universe.

"Hurry up and move forward! Don't let these monsters hold you back!"

Aparishia fired his pistol while issuing commands. The crimson, scorching heat rays easily exploded and vaporized a small demon, burning other targets in the process. He felt as if the pistol was alive, violently spewing death rays, the air above its cooling fins almost igniting. He wasn't sure if it was just his imagination, but he always felt that after each kill, the weapon's charging and cooling speed seemed to increase slightly.

"Second Knight Squad, take over the mission from the First Knight Squad and cover the advance of the engineering armored vehicle!" He picked up the Executioner's Battle Axe and jumped out of the armored vehicle. The guards, dressed in shields, chainsaw swords, and explosive rifles, followed behind him. As soon as they got off the vehicle, they gathered around him, using shields and precise shooting to block the oncoming little devils.

"Filthy creature!"

Aparisha grasped the axe handle and removed the execution battle axe from the magnetic weapon condenser of the Northern Song Dynasty.

Three squads, including the escort team, unleashed a barrage of fire on the convoy and the extradimensional creatures that appeared nearby. Precise shots even brought down the lesser demons lurking atop the ruins, unable to leap into the fray. With each step forward, the mangled corpses of monsters rained down upon them. The fire support arrived as expected, billowing dust that obscured the entire block. The wind in the city was driven by the constant shockwaves of the explosions. The flashing gunfire cast their tall figures, silhouetted against the cloud of dust, indistinct and shadowy, like giants from a distant myth, their faces blurred by time.

Aparisha completely abandoned defense, pulling the trigger while simultaneously wielding his battle axe, unleashing pure violence. This was a gift from the Emperor, and he would use it to fulfill his mission. He could feel the transplanted mind throbbing within him, and the scalding blood, like fuel, drove him to swing his weapon at a speed imperceptible to ordinary people.

The guards on both sides cleared out most of the monsters with a hail of bullets. Those that could withstand multiple bomb attacks were all exceptionally powerful. These monsters seemed to regard Aparisha, exposed in the center of the shield formation, as a weakness and charged at him recklessly. Aparisha let out a contemptuous, cold laugh, then swung his axe down with force—he pulled the axe from the skull of the monster in front of him, then pressed the muzzle of his gun against its forehead and pulled the trigger. In the blink of an eye, the monster's head was pierced by the heat rays, its outer-dimensional energy-based cosmic body began to burn, and finally collapsed into a mass of black ash and foul-smelling pus.

"Your witchcraft is of no use here!"

He tore a giggling little devil from his battered breastplate and clutched it tightly in his hand. It struggled incessantly, its claws and teeth futilely piercing the genetically modified warrior's armored fingers. Like an overripe fruit, it was crushed by Aparisha's bare hands, its foul-smelling fluids splattering everywhere.

Even with his expression remaining icy, Aparisha felt an unquenchable fire burning within him. This anger, this desire, urged him to wield the execution axe with even greater power, to spill his blood for the Emperor's ideals. The monsters multiplied, their bodies now a dense layer of ashes beneath the feet of the genetically modified warrior, yet they continued to surge forward, laughing and seemingly endless. Aparisha twirled the execution axe in his hand, then swung it horizontally, cleaving several monsters in two. Aparisha watched the feedback data flow like a waterfall in the holographic command chain projected on his helmet; his superhuman dynamic vision and information processing abilities allowed him to grasp the crucial information.

"Keep going! I need more flames! More firepower!"

Five massive, steel-cast machines shattered the building's wreckage with a deafening roar. These three-person-tall metal behemoths charged forward in a horde, their primate-inspired heads equipped with numerous radars and imaging devices. Heavy phosphate-based machine guns mounted on red-painted shoulder armor, their algorithms precisely locking onto every target, igniting the flames of death across the entire block. After a fifteen-minute assault, almost all the nearby building debris and decks were warped and deformed by the phosphate weapons mounted on these five intelligent war machines. As the cannon fire gradually subsided, a Martian technician in a red robe peeked out from behind the thigh of one of the war machines.

"I received an order to provide assistance."

The Mars technician glanced longingly at the tracked armored vehicle equipped with a thermal breaching device at the front row—his mentor's project. If Aparisha had paid attention to the mission roster in the Paititi rainforest of Peru, he would have noticed that his IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) system displayed the exact same name as the Mars technician who had worked alongside Peruvian rebel Colonel Camila. Undoubtedly, he had been promoted after experiencing such a grueling mission and verifying the reliability of the tracked armored vehicle variant.

"His Majesty has ordered me to assist the First Company's convoy."
