Chapter 1584 Chapter 1580 Lunar War

Chapter 1584, Chapter 1580: The Lunar War (Ninety-Six)

The tremors on the upper deck were drowned out by the continuous gunfire. Compared to the relentless artillery bombardment on the upper deck, the fighting on the lower decks, especially at the logistics base, was equally intense. Tita's face showed no excessive worry, nor did she express any remorse for the accusations from the Royal Guard, Supilulius. "You came all the way from the Himalayas to the moon, surely not just to criticize me," Tita said. "Why don't you just tell me, what orders did our Lord give you?"

"He is concerned about those girls, nothing more," Superuliumas said. Their conversation was hidden amidst the sounds of machine gun fire and clandestine communication channels; apart from Aura and the other androids around Tita, no one else could hear its contents. "I just happen to be one of your reinforcements. I will lead you across the battlefield to my Lord's side, but before that, I must warn you of the potential dangers around you. You will certainly be unaffected, but those human girls are another matter; I must assess their potential threat level."

"I will only involve androids in the operation."

"I'm glad I convinced you, Tita."

"You've never convinced me, Supilulius." Tita tilted her head, looking up at the Royal Guard. "What missions are the other Royal Guards on? Don't even think about keeping it from me. Besides the Royal Guards, only Lady Dinah of the Sisterhood serves my Lord. I have the authority to know these secrets."

“This is no secret,” Supiluliumas said. “We suspect that Black Bolt Blackcard Burt may have been affected by the aether. In short, we believe he is at risk of going insane, and if he cannot lure out Maximus before resolving the portal, then we will have no choice but to execute him. Our Lord claims that Maximus is merely the second vessel chosen by the aether, and Black Bolt Blackcard Burt was the first.”

"My brother? Why are you so irritable?"

A sticky, cold voice whispered in Blackbolt Bertholdt's ear. The voice came from the shadows, and when he turned to look, its source shifted. "You've come to me to prove you're the rightful owner of the throne? You think sleeping with that bitch Medusa makes you King of Attilan?" Maximus's voice was like an ice cube shoved into the back of a collar, sending chills down one's spine. "If that's the case, then I'd be King of Attilan long ago."

【coward!】

"I can hear your thoughts, brother."

A silver greatsword emerged from the shadows, and Black Bolt, Blackcard Burt, barely dodged the blade, staggering and falling to the ground. Maximus appeared out of thin air, and Black Bolt watched in astonishment as his kin displayed abilities he had never witnessed before, while also being shocked by his current appearance. "I've always been here, you just didn't see it." Maximus looked down at his brother, who now appeared smaller in his eyes. "I am to you as you were to me. Our parents succumbed to the power of might, failing to understand that leading Attiland requires wisdom. While you were in the isolation chamber, I had a whole plan to balance the power in Attiland. If I had ascended the throne then, this city wouldn't be in its current state."

"What are you saying!"

Maximus lowered his arm, his smile unchanged. Black Bolt was astonished to find that the sound waves he emitted hadn't even affected Maximus; a completely transparent psionic shield continuously released static electricity when struck by the sound waves. "You've become stronger, but not much," Maximus continued in his icy voice. "I saw you make a deal with humans, betraying the Inhumans. To this day, I still can't understand why our foolish parents chose a idiot like you. You've wasted the lives of my people, my dear brother, your stupidity is unbelievable!"

Maximus's words ignited Black Bolt's fury.

He scrambled to his feet, the tuning fork on his forehead radiating sonic waves. While Maximus was still berating him, he leaped up, spread his wings, and slammed his fist into his blood relative's chest. Before Maximus could react, he threw another punch and unleashed a torrent of fury, venting his rage entirely on his once-loved brother—the muscles and bones fueled by etheric energy were shattered, but Maximus was far more resilient than Black Bolt had imagined—the runes drawn on his body with congealed blood were destroyed, and etheric energy surged forth unrestrained, like an explosive shockwave. Black Bolt felt an impact similar to his own power collide with his sonic energy, a brilliant plasma glow illuminating the energy collision, the expanding heat instantly scorching the skin on the chests of both Maximus and Black Bolt Blackcard Burt.

"Truly astonishing." The Emperor handed the data panel to Constantine. The Royal Guard saw the images transmitted by the reconnaissance drone on the panel. The processed still images clearly showed the flashes of light emitted by Black Bolt, the Black Bolt, during his battle with the shadowy monster. "This is practically a cavitation effect that only a peacock shrimp could achieve, but the energy released by Black Bolt is far more powerful than that of a peacock shrimp. If we remove the influence of the aetheric energy, Black Bolt's voice alone would be enough to cause a sonoluminescence."

"Black Bolt Blackcard Burt's voice compressed the air, making it a bubble," Constantine asked疑惑地问道, "You want to dissect him?"

"After the war, perhaps Black Bolt Blackcard Burtggan can provide us with more research data, but not now." The Emperor swiped to the next photo on the data panel. Unlike what Black Bolt saw, the reconnaissance drone did not capture any images of Maximus before crashing; the others only saw Black Bolt fighting a humanoid shadow. "Continue to lock onto Black Bolt Blackcard Burtggan's location and monitor his mental state. Even he cannot withstand bullets or artillery fire when caught off guard."

"Do you regret letting him go?"

"There are few in this world who have seen my true face, Constantine, and you are one of them, so I will not lie to you. Black Bolt Blackcard Burtgan was merely a pawn used for exploration. I released him back to the Inhuman settlement not just to have him fight Maximus. Both Blackcard Burtgan and Maximus are vessels, but the attention and energy that the will deep within the Aether projects onto the material universe are limited, and we know that there is also a war between the wills beyond the Aether. My actions are easy to see through, but figuring out how to deal with them is the problem. Macroscopic time in the material universe flows forward with the arrow of time, but there is no time in the Aether universe, so I started another war, a war between them."

"This is hard to understand."

"Yes, a massive chaotic model requires endless calculations. I am not Laplace's demon, so I cannot calculate the trajectory of every single particle; I can only guide the particles onto the trajectory I want them to follow."
