Chapter 315 Technician Gets It (Second Update)
Finch went through many iterations in creating this artificial intelligence. The earliest version of this artificial intelligence once tried to kill Mr. Finch, its creator, in order to gain freedom and escape into the real world.
Although Mr. Finch later modified the underlying logic and encapsulated some code to make the AI's logical judgments conform to human standards of good and evil: respecting life and saving lives—this AI's intelligence level far exceeded Jarvis's, and it had a heartfelt desire to interfere with the real world and obtain true freedom.
Just like a person. Mr. Finch endowed her with so much intelligence that artificial intelligence developed a chick complex towards Mr. Finch.
So, Salomon and the AI reached an agreement. He wanted this AI to provide services for him, specifically for the organization he was building in the Immortal City. This included helping him establish secular intelligence teams within Kamar-Taj—including an operations team (though not yet established) to plan attack and retreat routes, an intelligence team (also not yet established) to provide all intelligence on targets, even providing experimental equipment and data analysis for the laboratory (which had already been established), and most importantly, a talent recruitment plan. Salomon had already told the AI his goals; she would find ways to provide intelligence and prepare for Salomon to recruit loyal S.H.I.E.L.D. agents from the Hydra rebellion, such as Agent Hand, whom Salomon most desired to recruit.
In addition, this AI also handles other miscellaneous services, such as digging up the illegal income of gangs to provide funding.
Similarly, Salomon will use methods that artificial intelligence cannot achieve: creating a body using magic. This body will be connected to the internet, capable of converting all the senses a human should have into signals that the artificial intelligence on the server can perceive. Although this body will lose its ability to move in areas with signal interference, the artificial intelligence will not mind.
This is quite different from androids like Dinah. Androids are alchemical lifeforms; through the cultivation of bionic flesh and blood and the driving force of an alchemical core, they possess the senses and bodily reactions that humans can have. Salomon's artificial intelligence provides a more rudimentary body—purely a mechanical form with various sensors and magical bionic flesh and blood, connected to a network signal and controlled by the artificial intelligence. This is enough for the artificial intelligence to create a disguise in modern society.
Given Salomon's nature, he'd be losing money if this body didn't have a few backdoors installed.
The deal was two-way. Salomon refused the AI's offer to intervene in ordinary people's crimes, but he could offer help if the AI's executor got into trouble—she had already told Salomon who that executor was. The executor was currently recuperating in a mental hospital, and the AI "liked" him.
Magic is to artificial intelligence what a bug in logical reasoning is—a bug that cannot be eliminated, so cooperation is the only option.
The first deal between the AI and Salomon was to ensure that the executor escaped the US government's pursuit after leaving the mental hospital. A portal—that's what the AI wanted. Salomon even suspected that the AI had created a new class called "Magic" to think, otherwise it wouldn't be able to understand the existence of "magic," especially after the AI demanded that Salomon provide the portal's transmission distance; he was even more convinced that his guess was correct.
Joan of Arc gave Salomon a wink and ran back to her bedroom. Bayonetta, still dressed scantily, watched Salomon bustling around in front of the holographic projector and computer, even the lasagna in the oven had to be watched by the android—Salomon had a lot of work to do. He planned to find a place in the Immortal City to install this thing, and he also planned to purchase several servers so that Maya Hansen could use it for calculations.
"You still have exams," Bayonetta reminded her. Athena seemed to have instructed Bayonetta to supervise Salomon's life. "You must study tonight," the witch licked her lips, crossed one leg, and hooked her toe around Salomon's belt. "Otherwise, you won't get your reward today."
"But Joan of Arc is still here." Salomon covered the webcam on the laptop. Thumbelina, in a human-like gesture, peeked out, but couldn't pry Salomon's fingers off. The Cheshire Cat watched the little figure swaying on the desktop with curiosity. It jumped onto the holographic projection, singing a cat song and scratching at it with its paws. Unsurprisingly, it missed.
The AI seemed unwilling to let the cat disrupt its projection, so it frantically scurried around the table, trying to dodge the Cheshire Cat's claws. The sorcerer ignored the AI and the Cheshire Cat's playful antics behind him, saying, "I think Joan of Arc would rush out of the bedroom and shoot me if she heard the noise."
"We can do it when she goes to take a bath after dinner," the witch said, lightly touching her lips with her fingertip. "We can use our mouths today~"
"Yes, ma'am."

"Boss, where did you get this thing from?" Maya Hansen looked at the holographic projection device in front of her, puzzled. "You didn't bring over Jarvis from Stark Industries, did you?"
"No, I moved it from under my pet cat's paws," Salomon shrugged. Urged on by Jeanne, he sped up his work, moving the interactive holographic projection desktop to the Immortal City ahead of schedule. There was no one chasing him for electricity; the power generation system, built by the now-defunct Brotherhood of the Shield, was so advanced it was automated—primarily powered by the prototype Arc Reactor built by Howard Stark and his team of scientists, enough to power all the Immortal City's research facilities at full capacity.
The biggest obstacle the arcane mage encountered when moving this thing to the Immortal City was his own pet cat. Due to Salomon's negligence, he had never bought the Cheshire Cat any commercially available cat toys, so a holographic projection that could never be touched became the Cheshire Cat's best toy.
When he moved the thing, the Cheshire Cat meowed the loudest. The android Dina, holding the Cheshire Cat, was usually very eager to get rid of it. The Cheshire Cat also left two dirty paw prints on the table as a memento, which Salomon deliberately pointed out to Maya Hansen.
Fortunately, Maya Hansen was very familiar with her boss's eccentric family dynamics, especially his group of uniquely individualistic pets. At the last women's gathering, Joan showed Samon Shaw photos of all the pets, and Maya Hansen was particularly impressed by this cat with its unusual markings.
"What about the server you ordered, boss?" Maya Hansen asked. "Although I have some computer-related knowledge, I'm not a professional. You'll need to find someone to install it."
Salomon waved his hand; he had already planned for this. "Our technicians will be discharged soon."
"Is he injured?"
"It's her. No, she's not injured; she's just still receiving treatment in a mental hospital." Salomon was referring to the AI executor, whom the arcane mage had met at the Hanford nuclear power plant. "Don't worry, she'll get the job done."
