Chapter 331 Waiting for God with the Hammer Season 2

Chapter 331 Guarding the Hammer and Awaiting God Season 2 (Second Update)

Sif's expression was grim. She was fully armed and ready to smash Thor's head in. But before Salomon could answer, she visibly deflated like a punctured pufferfish. She waved listlessly. "Fine," she said, "I'm leaving."

“Don’t worry.” Salomon raised an eyebrow. “Your position is unshakeable, acknowledged by both the Allfather and the Queen of Gods…” Sif shook her head impatiently. “This time is different,” she said. “Thor is serious this time, unlike before.”

"What's there to worry about? At most, a hundred years. No matter how long an ordinary person lives, they can't possibly live longer than that."

"You want me to wait a hundred years? Do you really think Thor won't fall for someone else after a hundred years? This isn't the first time." Sif sobbed like a puppy soaked in the rain, her head bowed. "I went to war with him, became his right-hand woman... What did I do wrong..."

Salomon's eyes widened. He looked around to make sure no one had suddenly appeared. Knowing Sif's personality, she might have beaten up whoever saw her like this until they promised not to tell anyone. "Mind having a cup of tea with me?" the sorcerer said. "I had time to listen to you when I was studying; perhaps we can find out where you went wrong. Don't look at me like that. Although I've only had one romantic relationship, there's been a lot of research on these kinds of issues on Earth—at least on the morning divination channel."

Sif sniffed; her emotional turmoil seemed to have subsided. Her next move was to draw her longsword and threaten Salomon. The arcane mage's suggestion made her hesitate. Sif decided to trust the mortal before her—Salomon claimed his past romantic experiences were highly successful, something she undoubtedly needed to learn.

"How about some black tea and cookies?"

"Um."

"So, Thor went back to..."

"That one time doesn't count!" Sif seemed conflicted, because even she didn't believe her own words. "That was an enchantress who bewitched him! She's a whore who likes to seduce men! Thor was only momentarily..."

"Alright, alright, next one then." Salomon skipped over the topic. "Who's next? To be honest, I don't think it's meaningful to list all the women Thor has liked. Your problem might be more significant—Asgard is full of women wielding swords. Perhaps Thor prefers the kind of girl who's weak and helpless? Judging from Thor's choices of lovers all these times, you've consistently avoided his preferred type?"

"I can't do it," Sif declared dejectedly, stuffing the whole cookie into her mouth. "I've been taught court etiquette, but it's useless on the battlefield! You want me to humbly abandon the status I earned on the battlefield? Absolutely not! I have to prove I'm no worse than Thor..."

"So what?" Salomon interjected. "Then you can accept the appointment from the Allfather and Queen of the Gods without worry. A romance isn't a competition; there's no need to fight for victory. Perhaps you should be frank with Thor. If he doesn't accept, you can distance yourself from him. Once he takes the throne, he'll be stuck on the throne! The Queen's position is yours for the taking. You can learn from Frigga and rule the entire Asgard—there's a saying on Earth: men conquer the world, women conquer men. Don't glare at me; I'm the one who gets conquered at home too. To be honest, I don't object to that… Perhaps you can go even further than Thor, conquer the world, and achieve feats that Thor can only dream of. Maybe then Thor will notice your shining qualities."

Sif remained silent, continuing to stuff cookies into her mouth. Finally, she picked up her teacup, tilted her head back, and let out a loud swallow. "Phew..." she sighed, "I've made up my mind!"

"What have you decided?"

"I'm going to abandon that blind man!" she said. "You're right, the queen's position is mine anyway, and mortals don't live past a hundred years, I can wait. But first I need to find Saul, I'm going to slap him, I'll make him know what he's given up!"

"Very well." Salomon showed no remorse whatsoever as an instigator; he was simply the type who loved watching the drama unfold. "Go show Saul your true colors!"

"And you? Is there anything I can help you with?" Sif wiped her mouth. "I don't like owing people favors."

"There really is, listen to me..."

"Did you know I was in trouble when you came to me?" Jane Foster's current demeanor was exactly like the little girl Salomon had described before. The sorcerer was right about one thing: Thor indeed disliked women who were proficient in eating meat, drinking alcohol, and fighting. She felt perfectly content now—she had a beautiful lake view and her lover by her side.

"Heimdall can't see you anymore," Thor said. "That means you're no longer on Earth."

"How is this possible?"

“I believe you are both here and there,” Thor explained. “The Nine Realms orbit the World Tree, around Midgard, just as the Earth orbits the Sun. Every five thousand years, these worlds align in a line, a phenomenon we call the ‘Conjunction of the Celestial Bodies.’ During this time, the boundaries between worlds become blurred, and you may have found one of the points of convergence. Fortunately, the points of convergence do not close; once the worlds deviate from the convergence line, they lose contact.”

"I like your explanation... What should I do?"

"I will find a way to save you, Jane."

"Your father said..."

"My father wasn't omniscient either."

"Don't let him hear you say that." Queen Frigga approached silently. She didn't show the same disgust towards Jane Foster as Odin had; in fact, she was quite welcoming to all of Thor's lovers, except for the Enchantress who was now imprisoned in the dungeon. Queen Frigga even felt a sense of pride—it was hard not to be proud that her child could attract so many women's attention.

"Jane Foster, and this is Frigga, Queen of Asgard, and my mother."

Jane Foster abruptly released Thor's hand, her face burning hot. Forget about Odin, that angry old man; even Frigga seemed quite kind. Jane Foster felt she wasn't ready to meet the parents yet.

"Hello..." That was all she could manage to say.

"You didn't tell me you were going to wander around Asgard." Sif was filled with regret; she shouldn't have agreed to Salomon's terms. Letting Salomon peek into the Asgardian backyard was a terrible thing to do; it wasn't a place anyone could come to. She could only follow Salomon closely, making sure he didn't do anything foolish.

Finally, Salomon found a pillar. "This is it," he patted the pillar. "We'll wait here."

"Waiting for whom?"

"Thor," Salomon said with a smile, "Don't move. Don't move while I cast an invisibility spell. Thor will pass by here; we just need to wait quietly."
