Chapter 332 The Power of the Fat Otaku

Chapter 332 The Power of a Fat Otaku (First Update)

Salomon wasn't casting any invisibility spell; he wasn't that extravagant. He was simply making passersby overlook them—the effect of the second-circle spell, Veil of Concealment. Sif walked away impatiently, picking at pebbles in the lawn, trying to make as much noise as possible. But neither the passing nobles nor soldiers noticed the arcane mage sitting casually by the pillar nor the annoyed Sif.

"What do you want to do?" The female warrior pulled a small flask from her pocket, took a swig, and was as agitated as a wet cat. She saw Salomon looking down at a transparent glass tube, engraving words on it with a diamond pen. Salomon seemed completely absorbed, as if he had come here solely to create his little contraption.

This made her even angrier.

"Patience," Salomon said softly. "Thor should be here, and I'm sure he'll have a lot to say to you then, I assure you, if you're not shocked and still have the mood to listen to him. As for me... this is just a small sealing vessel. I'm quite skilled in protective spells, especially sealing spells. You see, it's just a four-element seal. I used runes from the four elemental races, but the main one is a rune..."

Sif nodded impatiently, hoping these magicians could simplify their language. This was partly why she chose swords; not everyone had the patience to read those dizzying words, understand their meaning, let alone translate them into strange magic. Sif believed that those who could do such a thing must have a different way of seeing things than normal people.

She couldn't say which way was better, but after experiencing Salomon's unhurried behavior, she now thought that normal people's thinking was more reliable.

Suddenly, a deafening alarm blared, audible throughout Asgard. Soldiers patrolling the corridors immediately changed course, running towards the other side of the palace. Sif looked up, ready to leave, but Salomon shook his head, stopping her. Now Sif couldn't contain herself any longer. "It's a dungeon alarm, wizard!" she exclaimed. "I need to join the fight; it's my duty!"

"Your duty will be fulfilled here, Sif." The sorcerer didn't even look up. He blew away the fine dust from the glass tube and said slowly, "I'm giving you an opportunity, a chance to truly fulfill your responsibility, and also an opportunity to achieve your wish."

"You knew about this all along!" The female warrior drew her longsword, pointing it at the sorcerer. "Did you collude with those guys in the dungeon? You should know you've already been enjoying the privileges of a guest!"

"I know, so I'm doing what a guest should do, fighting alongside the host." Salomon put down the glass tube and opened the small leather pouch at his waist. Sif was astonished by the bizarre sight of Salomon's entire arm inside.

With a clatter of items being knocked over, an Asgardian longsword was drawn from a small leather pouch. This centurion's longsword, like the custom-made longsword used by Sif, was crafted by the same blacksmith; both were custom-made. The arcane mage said, "However, my fighting style is somewhat different. Your generation of Aesir gods has never heard of the Sorcerer Supreme, which is why you misunderstand my actions. But it doesn't matter; you won't regret it."

Sif hesitated for a moment; it was hard for her not to hesitate when faced with Salomon's mystical approach to things.

She knew wizards were all mysterious figures, but Salomon's actions were utterly bizarre; he seemed unwilling to reveal what he was doing here. "I'm not so easily convinced," the warrior thought. "You're very suspicious right now. You clearly know what's happening in the dungeon, yet you haven't issued any warnings."

She had originally intended to capture the sorcerer, but Salomon's words while carving on the glass tube dissuaded her. "What we are about to do will deceive fate," Sif shuddered at the thought of Salomon's words. "So I'm going to conduct an experiment. On the one hand, to verify just how important my existence is, and on the other hand, to verify the laws governing fate."

"For what reason?"

"Let's do it for peace," the sorcerer said with a smile, "and for humanity as well."

"Then take a sip first." The female warrior tossed the small flask to Salomon. "If what you're about to do is important, I hope you won't desert before the battle. Take a sip, lest your legs go weak."

The sounds of gunfire continued, each explosion testing the female warrior's patience. Every second she remained there was a second of dereliction of duty, something she couldn't tolerate—she had initially thought it was just a minor disturbance, but as time passed, the chaos seemed to be spreading. Suddenly, Salomon stood up. "Come with me, ma'am," he said, walking aside. Sif immediately followed, wanting to see what the arcane mage was up to.

"You should be by that pillar over there, Thor." Salomon patted the muscular shoulder of the man whose back was to him. The man was wearing a red hoodie and had messy hair. Judging from the fermented smell emanating from him and his tangled, almost matted hair and beard, he hadn't showered in a long time. The man seemed startled by Salomon.

"Who are you!" The fat version of Thor jumped up, and Sif's eyes almost popped out of their sockets.

"You're Thor? You're not..." She looked the future Thor up and down, especially at his belly, "How come you..."

"I..." Thor didn't bother to ask Salomon's identity anymore; he was so embarrassed that he wanted to run away.

"This is Thor from a parallel universe." Salomon quickly grabbed the future Thor. "Back in 2012, I already spoke with the future Stark, Bruce Banner, and Steve, and we reached an agreement." The arcane mage clutched the red cotton hoodie, which reeked of nerds, holding it between two fingers to avoid getting chocolate stains on it. "To put it simply, your future is already decided; I've already experienced your future. So I will fight alongside you to achieve the goal of returning the gems. But that's not important, because my time travel plan won't take place for several years from now."

He paused for a moment, then continued, "I think you have a lot to say right now. Whether it's to the female warrior behind me, or... Hello, Queen."

The fat version of Thor's head is almost touching his stomach.

Queen Frigga smiled, took Thor's hand, and the future Thor didn't resist at all, staggering over. Sif hesitated before stepping forward, looking at the future Thor suspiciously. After the explanation, she roughly understood Salomon's meaning. This Thor was the future Thor, but she didn't understand what had happened to make him look like this.

She was exactly like Vostagg. What had happened in the future? She was filled with curiosity about the future.

"He is now yours, Your Majesty." Salomon bowed slightly. "Our destiny continues. That is to say—"

"—There's still a chance to change things." Thor sniffed and continued, "Although I don't know who you are, you seem to know what the future holds, and you're even wearing Kamar-Taj clothes. I'd like to ask you…"

"Of course, I will do it. I think that's why the Venerable One sent me here." The sorcerer stepped back, leaving space for the others.

He seemed to be saying something that was beyond question.
