Chapter 358 Alchemy Research

Chapter 358 Alchemy Research (First Update)

This was a brutal battle; more than half of the hundred Asgardian soldiers sent to Earth were lost. But they felt no sorrow, for their achievements were glorious. They not only annihilated the soldiers disembarking from the Dark Elf flagship, ending the eternal hatred between the Asgardians and the Dark Elves, but also hunted down beasts from many other realms—this is another problem brought about by the celestial conjunction: many animals from other worlds entered London, requiring the intervention of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the British government. Some of these animals were dangerous, so even as the portals over London gradually closed, the citizens' alarms remained high.

There aren't many gun owners in London. If this had happened in Clinton, Manhattan, the residents would probably have already started fighting the aliens with guns. Of course, there would have been far more casualties. Agent Coulson wanted to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, so he used the opportunity of distributing food to request help from Thor and Salomon, who were still on Earth.

Loki wanted to answer, but his brother had stepped on his toes, preventing him from moving an inch. Thor volunteered for the mission, and the resting Heroic Spirits in the cargo hold had no objections. Disobeying a monarch's orders was tantamount to treason, and they weren't that foolish. Besides, Thor would fight alongside them, and as long as they were careful, the creatures of Jotunheim, Muspelheim, and Alfheim wouldn't pose much of a danger.

Of course, Agent Coulson initially wanted to make demands regarding the handling of the Aether particles, but he shrank back under Salomon's icy gaze. Salomon already had a plan for handling the Aether particles; it was something he had prepared while studying in Asgard—four test tubes engraved with the seals of the four elements, using the power of the four elemental planes to divide the Aether particles into four parts. Two parts were kept in Asgard, and two parts in Midgard. This way, the requirement that "Infinity Stones cannot be too close" was followed, while perfectly solving the safety problem of the Aether particles.

Storing things now is no longer the same as in the past, where you could just find a deserted spot, set up a trap, and bury it. Humans are multiplying like rabbits on Earth; who knows if the place where the ether particles are buried will be broken into hundreds of years from now?

Kamar-Taj and the Vault of Asgard are the safest places in the Nine Realms. It's better to store things in Kamar-Taj than to store them in the middle of nowhere and have them found by some unknown expedition team.

"We've brought in several experts based in London to help S.H.I.E.L.D. handle this incident," Coulson said somewhat helplessly.

In the past, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s mission has always been to keep ordinary people away from supernatural events. However, whether in New York or this time, ordinary people can see aliens simply by looking up, and S.H.I.E.L.D. can only try to mitigate the aftermath of these events. These include issues such as biohazard protection, culture shock, and economic problems (London house prices will drop). Dr. Eric Sullivan has also become a member of the expert team. Dr. Sullivan, who dislikes wearing trousers, stands out among the group of well-dressed senior experts.

Another person stood out, being the youngest among the experts. She wore a black jacket and had long, dark hair tied in a ponytail. She walked at the very back, alongside the cultural experts, as Melinda picked them up on the airbus. This woman was said to be the daughter of a friend of an archaeologist; she had just graduated from university and also held a title.

However, Salomon still thought the woman looked silly, because as soon as she boarded the air bus, she became incredibly curious about the design and patterns of Salomon's armor, especially the holy sword that Salomon carried at his waist, which attracted all her attention.

"This is the Broken Steel Sword, isn't it? I remember seeing that on TV," she asked suddenly, pointing at the holy sword. Immediately, her face flushed, her youthful awkwardness clashing with the older men in suits. "Excuse me, I should introduce myself," she said shyly. "Hello, my name is Laura Crawford… Would you mind telling me your name? Or are you King Arthur?"

"King Arthur was actually blond, and I'm currently a novice knight in the Knights of the Round Table. Note that my account of King Arthur's hair color is hearsay and not historical fact. Salomon Damonette, it's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Crawford. If you don't mind, I have other matters to attend to."

"Of course, of course."

Skye led the experts up the spiral staircase, then gave the sorcerer a disapproving look. "I really don't know what you're going to do with your future," the S.H.I.E.L.D. rookie said with the wisdom of someone who'd been through it all. "Why didn't you talk to her a little more? That girl is so interested in you, and she's even a noblewoman!"

"Me too." Salomon shrugged and continued to wait. Sif, who had just woken up, was responsible for guarding Loki, who had been put back in shackles, so Agent Melinda May could only take him, Thor, and a few Asgardian veterans to hunt wild animals all over London.

"You know that's not what I meant!" Skye exclaimed, jumping up and down in frustration.

"Hmm~" Seeing Agent Melinda May approaching with Thor, Salomon decided to end the conversation. "See you next time, Skye. I personally suggest you practice your marksmanship; you're probably the weakest one on this plane."

"I think that girl is quite nice." The Sorcerer Supreme, never one to miss a chance to stir things up, added fuel to the fire. "If you just show her the Holy Sword, she'll probably be inseparable from you. You have so many antiques, and she's older than you. What more could you want? You're too serious, my dear disciple. I promise I won't tell the witch about this."

"You said the same thing last time," Salomon rolled his eyes, not taking the Sorcerer Supreme's words seriously at all. This was a small cabin in the Norwegian countryside; he had come to hand over the Aether particles he possessed. His unilateral distribution method had been approved by the Allfather and the Sorcerer Supreme, so after watching Thor and his party return to Asgard, he hurried to the Sorcerer Supreme and placed the Aether particles in his hands.

The Sorcerer Supreme greatly praised Salomon's sealing spell. Just as Salomon had previously guessed, all the Infinity Stones possessed self-awareness, and the Aether was no exception. Salomon's sealing spell effectively limited the Aether's power and consciousness, weakening the churning crimson liquid in the test tube by many times. The Sorcerer Supreme gave one of the test tubes to his disciple.

"You can study this Philosopher's Stone," the Venerable said. "It can help you achieve something in alchemy, and I wouldn't be surprised if you one day reach Paracelsus's level. Also, you can use Paracelsus's short sword to aid your research, and your android can be slightly upgraded. Of course, all of this is contingent on you going back to New York first—" The Venerable took out Salomon's phone that was lying there, "—the witch has already called several times. I'm not against you setting your girlfriend's picture as your wallpaper, but it's really lacking in masculinity."

Laura was born in 1992 and began her adventures in 2013 after graduating from college.
