Marvel Magic Case Files
Chapter 377 It’s really true!
Chapter 377 Really awesome! (Second update)
"Don't worry, you're not capable of hurting me." No one knows the full impact these words had on Hannah Hudgens. If they had been spoken before her arrest, she might have been moved to tears. But here, in this unfamiliar environment, in front of this man in a red robe with a long knife at his waist, those words only elicited screams.
"Alright, alright, Agent Coulson, she's yours." Salomon took back the other cup of ice cream and stood to the side eating it. It was clear he was annoyed by Hannah Hudgens' lack of cooperation, especially since the woman had embarrassed him in front of his apprentice and caused him to receive a fierce glare from Agent Melinda May—so Salomon decided to keep the other cup of ice cream for himself, leaving Hannah Hudgens with no ice cream.
Agent Coulson regretted not having told Salomon some interrogation methods. Hannah Hudgens, waking up in unfamiliar surroundings, was extremely nervous; maintaining a proper distance was essential. "Letting Hannah Hudgens know we're not hiding anything" didn't mean using supernatural powers to put a cup of ice cream in front of her! That was absolutely unacceptable! It was absurd! Wasn't he worried about Hannah Hudgens's uncontrollable powers?
Perhaps he wasn't really worried; magic is always unpredictable. But as a secret agent, he absolutely couldn't use such a brutal method.
"She's calmed down." Salomon waved his hand dismissively. "Now you can question her. Her mental state is terrible, and her consciousness is extremely weak; enchantment spells could take effect at any moment. If necessary, we'll become her friends."
"Let me do it, okay?" Agent Coulson placed the bottled water in front of Hannah Hudgens, then took two steps back, maintaining a safe distance. "I'm sorry to bring you here this way," Agent Coulson said. "The situation was getting out of control, and this was for everyone's safety."
"Everyone is safe, thankfully." Miss Hannah Hudgens quieted down. She was a kind person; she wouldn't have panicked like this if Salomon hadn't suddenly barged in. "Then just now…" she asked nervously, "that ice cream…"
"That's my ability, it has nothing to do with you," Salomon said, standing in the corner.
"That's good..." Miss Hannah Hudgens visibly relaxed, closing her eyes. "Lord, what have I done?"
"I assure you, Miss Hudgens, no one is hurt." Coulson slowly moved closer upon seeing this. Salomon noticed that Agent Melinda May's muscles were tense; if things went wrong, she would rush over as fast as she could and quell any trouble.
"No matter where I go, things get worse."
"Were you angry with those people when you were standing outside just now?" Agent Melinda May asked.
“Angry? No,” said Miss Hannah Hudgens. “I know most of them. They’re the ones who’s angry, and I understand. God, Frank’s wife, the way she looked at me…”
"Frank Draco," Agent Coulson said, uttering the name of a staff member who had been killed in the incident.
"Their deaths were all because of me. I killed them." After saying this, Hannah Hudgens once again fell into deep sorrow. Outside the interrogation room/cell, two members of the Fitz-Simmons scientific team were examining Hannah Hudgens's brainwave readings. They found no abnormal readings—unlike the readings displayed when Salomon cast his spell, Hannah Hudgens's brainwave readings were all within the average range.
Coulson's amiable appearance worked. Instead of standing and questioning her, he sat on the floor with Hannah Hudgens and moved closer—the tables and chairs had been removed after Hannah Hudgens boarded the plane, and Agent Coulson had only placed a cushion there—closing the conversation distance helped to break down her psychological defenses. Hannah Hudgens, who had not received professional training, began to confide in Agent Coulson about what had happened in the past.
“For weeks on end, I’ve been receiving reports from Zone 2. The reports say that the bolts on the coupling assembly are loose, and Tobias is… he’s the technician there. We replaced the parts and did metallography repeatedly; I seem to have to go there every few days,” Hannah Hudgens said, her eyes red-rimmed.
"Have you noticed the problem?"
"No," Miss Huggins shook her head, "but clearly I've missed something."
"My team is investigating what happened and what might have happened to you," Agent Coulson said.
"On me? What do you mean?"
Coulson knew that what he was about to say might cause Hannah Hudgens to lose control, so he glanced at Melinda May and Salomon. Melinda May nodded, but Salomon's attention seemed still on the strawberry ice cream. "We believe the accident may have given you the ability to telekinesis."
"Just like him?" Hannah Hudgens looked at the sorcerer. "Is he like that too?"
While encountering someone in a similar situation might alleviate Hannah Hudgens' stress, Salomon clearly had no intention of considering her feelings. He rolled his eyes at her. "No, Miss Hudgens," he clicked his tongue, "it's not the same."
"Do you think I did that? That police car, that gas station, do you think I did it?" Hannah Hudgens' eyes widened. Coulson's questioning and Salomon's denial clearly left her at a loss, and her reddened eyes seemed ready to burst into tears again at any moment.
"We're not sure. This may be hard to accept, but these events all have one thing in common."
“That was me, but I didn’t do any of it,” Hannah Hudgens said, her voice nasal. She felt her nose and lips go numb from crying, but she still spoke up to defend herself. “It wasn’t me,” she repeated. “I wish it had been me, then maybe I could have found a way to stop it.”
"But if it's not you, then who is it?" Melinda May asked.
"You won't believe me..."
"Tell me about it," Melinda May chimed in.
"God is punishing me. He has abandoned me. He no longer protects me, which is why things have turned out this way." Hannah Hudgens cried again, clearly showing how much the events of the past few days had affected her.
"To protect you from what harm?"
"Devil, sir," Hannah Hudgens cried.
“She’s telling the truth, but given her lack of expertise in lower-dimensional beings, her account isn’t entirely accurate.” Salomon stood up. He licked his lips and walked over to Hannah Hudgens. “Furthermore, I must point out another error you’ve made, Hannah Hudgens.” He looked into the woman’s moist, timid eyes and placed his hand on her head, a sight Agent Coulson witnessed incredulously.
"God has never abandoned you, Hannah Hudgens."
She saw a dazzling golden light descend from the sky, enveloping Salomon's head, the divine light filling every corner. When that clean, slender hand reached out to her, she felt warmth deep within her soul, and she eagerly moved closer. "Your faith has conquered all," she heard a gentle voice. "Sleep well."
Then, with the sound of a light switch turning on, the golden light vanished. Salomon stood there, ice cream cup in hand, licking his lips. Hannah Hudgens was fast asleep, her head resting on his hand; she looked much more relaxed. "It was just a little trick of light and shadow," Salomon said softly. "I put her to sleep and stopped her from breaking down. Don't look at me like that; I'm a very considerate person too. Our focus should be on that 'demon.'"
"Is what she said true?"
"Of course! Otherwise, why would I be here?"
