Chapter 380 Coulson's Magical World Adventure

Chapter 380 Coulson's Magical World Adventure (First Update)

Describing the nature of spirits using current human science is undoubtedly extremely difficult; no instrument can detect the spirits existing in the etheric plane. Without temperature, density, or mass, spirits cannot be accurately observed by any scientific means. However, under certain circumstances, these beings rise from the silent, deep etheric lake, influencing the material world in their own way.

The best way to deal with such an enemy is to infiltrate the misty ocean of the Aetheric plane, banish the spirit to the shore where matter and the inner planes overlap, to the boundary of the Aether, and then drive it to the material plane. However, this is an extremely difficult task, because the spirit can freely move between the two planes, while humans can only enter the Aetheric boundary through powerful magic. As for the deeper Aetheric plane, the magic required for entry is even more powerful.

Coincidentally, Salomon had repeatedly traveled in and out of the Aetherial Dimension with the witch during his very first mission, so he was quite experienced in this area. He didn't believe that a spirit could be much stronger than those angels.

However, this time he wasn't here to eliminate the target, but to bring his apprentices to practice. He needed to find a target for his apprentices that would fight back, but whose safety wasn't too low.

The plane made a smooth emergency landing, which was incredible. After Salomon opened the cargo door, the arcane mages waiting throughout the Airbus gathered around. Simmons watched as Salomon gave instructions to the mages, who then exited the cargo door. Skye followed them into the cargo hold—Coulson had previously contacted most of the Airbus passengers via walkie-talkie, and for safety reasons, Coulson had instructed Skye to accompany the mages.

“Wait a little longer, and the King will arrive with two female apprentices and Hannah Hudgens,” Salomon said. Ignoring Agent Coulson's attempt to argue, he continued, “Your electromagnetic shielding won't help her, Coulson.”

“No, what I meant was that the cell was locked from the outside; it can't be opened from the inside.” Agent Coulson blinked innocently; he didn't intend to veto Salomon's suggestion. In his experience, vetoing Salomon's decision often led to disastrous consequences. “Perhaps I should inform May and have her open the door for your companion?”

"No need, I believe they've learned the magic to open mechanical locks." Although he said this, Salomon wasn't entirely sure. He had written the spell [Knock] in a book, and anyone interested could learn this spell that could work on any mechanical lock. He just hoped that the young mage wasn't too lazy to look it up.

The waiting was undoubtedly agonizing, especially for Skye. She couldn't bear to see someone as kind as Hannah Hudgens suffer. "We've been attacked." As soon as the Little King mage uttered these words, Skye and Agent Coulson, who were waiting in the cargo hold, both turned pale. Hannah Hudgens, in particular, was still shaken by the attack they had just experienced—if the plane hadn't made an emergency landing and woken her up, Salomon's methods would have allowed her to sleep soundly, wake up comfortably the next day, say goodbye to all her nightmares, and perhaps even have a glass of juice for breakfast.

But things never go so smoothly.

"That guy's a bit weak," said the young mage with a disinterested look. "I lashed out at him with my whip, and then he vanished."

"Did you see his face clearly?" Simmons asked quickly.

"How could I possibly know? I don't even know him," Master Wang shrugged.

“It’s Tobias.” Hannah Hudgens was supported by the two female apprentices; otherwise, she would have collapsed to the ground. If Salomon hadn’t calmed her down earlier, she would have definitely broken down. “I saw his face, it was Tobias, he’s the technician there.” Hannah Hudgens’ eyes reddened again, and tears were about to fall. “It’s him, he’s come for revenge. Lord, I deserve it, I deserve to be tormented…”

Faced with these words, Skye, who had intended to comfort her, didn't know where to begin. The two female apprentices cast helpless glances at Salomon; no matter how the apprentices tried to persuade her, Hannah Hudgens always felt it was her fault. These apprentices were all newcomers to Kamar-Taj after Salomon began carrying out missions. They had undergone years of training before their first mission, but they hadn't expected that the troublesome one this time wouldn't be the target but the victim herself.

Kamar-Taj doesn't teach this!

"Ward, respond if you hear me. Have you found Fitz? May, where are you?"

"Yes, sir, I've found Fitz." Agent Grand Ward's voice came through the walkie-talkie. "We've been attacked, we're locked in the power distribution room." Grand Ward sounded pained, so Fitz took over the conversation. "He's moving around with a wrench, he keeps disappearing and reappearing!" Fitz shouted.

"This matches the existing intelligence," Agent Coulson said.

"I ran into him," Melinda May's cold voice broke in. "I met him in the living room."

His fate is self-evident; Agent Coulson had faith in Melinda's combat abilities.

"That's Tobias," he said, revealing the information he had just learned.

"He was still holding a wrench; maybe that's what he had in his hand when the explosion happened," Fitz reminded him.

"Could it be a wrench used to loosen coupling components?" Grand Ward said painfully, rubbing the back of his neck where he had been strangled. Skye pointed out that Tobias was the worker who submitted the fault report; she had seen it. Tobias had filed multiple complaints against Hannah Hudgens. Hannah Hudgens also admitted that if she had been more careful with the report…

"We believe Tobias is highly likely to have caused this incident." Fitz's voice sounded distant through the walkie-talkie. "During our inspection of the coupling components, Simmons and I found no problems."

“Until Tobias showed up,” Simmons continued. “He said it was hell… I think it was an alien planet. Tobias is in some kind of superposition state. But the problem is, it doesn’t make sense for someone to complain about security issues while simultaneously causing them.”

"Alright." Salomon was fed up with these speculations and abruptly interrupted the conversation. This was just a small task; there was no need to make it so complicated. Given the right conditions, even an ordinary person could complete this exorcism mission.

"Once I catch him, you can ask me anything you want."

Salomon arranged for them to take Hannah Hudgens off the plane and place her within the apprentices' protective circle. Then, a large, circular portal bursting with brilliant sparks opened before him. Agent Coulson watched with a pang of heartache as the portal carved a deep gash into the floor; he could only hope it hadn't severed any electrical wires.

Skye saw the view behind the door through it.

This wasn't the first time she'd seen a portal. The last time she'd seen one, it had swallowed the entire plane, carrying them from America to England. But this time, she couldn't see any difference between the inside and outside. The night behind the portal was no different from what she saw from the outside, except that the fog was a bit thicker.

Wait, does fog form on summer nights? This is the American interior!

"Agent Coulson." Salomon handed his favorite male agent a handgun. It was a black M1911, with an 11-round capacity. It was Salomon's favorite handgun, and he had even engraved intricate Gothic gold patterns on the barrel. This was a gift he intended to give to Agent Coulson, but he hadn't found the opportunity to deliver it until now.

"Interested in a grand adventure in the inner planes? This gun is a great tool for hitting spirits."
