Chapter 403 Knowledge of Legends

Chapter 403 Master of Legends (Second Update)

Salomon considered for a moment, but ultimately decided against taking Stark to Wakanda. He simply left one of the world's most intelligent men a small piece of vibranium he had obtained from T'Challa, then slipped the little black kitten into his pocket. Guided by the planetary defense system, he opened a portal and arrived directly in the technologically advanced city of Wakanda.

His appearance attracted the attention of the Wakanda Guard and local residents, so Salomon opened a portal in the heart of Wakanda's marketplace. When soldiers wielding vibranium spears surrounded him, Salomon did not react violently. He simply opened his palm to show them the small black cat curled up in his hand.

The kitten seemed so shocked by the sight that it forgot to retract its little tongue.

"I have a negotiation with your royal family," he said confidently to the guards surrounding him. "This is my token."

He was demonstrating his power to the Wakanda royal family. Since this was a negotiation, Salomon had to prove his worth; only on an equal footing would there be room for negotiation.

"My friend! You never told me you possessed such amazing skills."

In Birnin Zana, the capital of Wakanda, T'Challa met Salomon, who was surrounded by guards, and immediately gave him a warm hug. "I must say, you almost scared Derek Kanata, the commander of Hatut Zeraze, to death. Your sudden appearance made him frantically patrol the border like a mad cat. He thought your presence in the market meant there was a loophole in Wakanda's borders."

T'Challa chuckled. "I quite enjoy watching him busy himself around. Hatut Zeraze is a loyal army. Secret police are always annoying, but some are just too loyal to the point of being tiresome. Come, my friend, I'll take you to see the King of Wakanda, my father, T'Chaka. He's a great king, and he's delighted to have you here."

Salomon hadn't expected T'Challa's understanding of him to be so superficial. "Your Highness, that's not high technology, it's magic," Salomon said. "I thought you'd accept this quickly, after all, your kingdom has gods. Has Wakanda not been granted any occult knowledge about magic?"

“This is a place that values science, Salomon. Wakanda has no magic.” T’Challa seemed eager to give Salomon a proper introduction to Wakanda. “In fact, Wakanda is the most technologically advanced place on Earth. All Wakanda citizens must receive eleven years of free compulsory education, after which they can choose whether or not to attend Wakanda’s university. All citizens are free to choose their duties, and due to a policy that has existed since ancient times, the residents of Wakanda cannot receive education from outside the country,” T’Challa said. “I am an exception, and if it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t have found you. My father went against the grain and made me receive an education from outside the country for many reasons, one of which was to find you.”

"Even with a strong religious atmosphere, high technology has permeated the lives of all Wakanda citizens. See this?" T'Challa pointed to a string of dark beads on his wrist. "This is a Kimoyo, which all Wakanda citizens are given at birth. Different beads have different functions. The first one installed was the Prime, which can periodically monitor an individual's health. In addition, there are beads that can provide holographic information displays and communication."

"Stark Industries' interactive holographic projection device is incredibly heavy," Salomon said. "Is this the technology Wakanda developed with the help of vibranium?"

"Since you know about vibranium, then you should know that vibranium was also one of Wakanda's former currencies." T'Challa led Salomon through the corridors of the Wakanda Palace. The Wakanda Palace was decorated with distinctive African and Egyptian red and blue striped patterns, while also embodying a high-tech, minimalist style. Looking down from the floor-to-ceiling windows of the corridor, one could see the distant market town. Two enormous, dark obsidian panther statues stood before the palace's main entrance, and the soldiers passing by were no bigger than their toes.

"It's just that vibranium has now been replaced by digital currency because constantly using vibranium would lead to the outflow of this important resource." T'Challa was clearly unaware of Salomon's reason for opening the portal. He continued talking about things that seemed mundane to him, but a strong sense of pride was still palpable.

"Wakanda's resources aren't limited to vibranium. We have coal, uranium, and diamonds, and we can independently manufacture aircraft. That probably explains why Wakanda practices isolationism. We don't need to communicate with the outside world, not just because of vibranium, but more because we don't need to."

“We need to. The world is changing so fast these days. If Wakanda remains closed off, it will fall into the trap of ignorance.” An elderly man with glasses and a white beard called out to T'Challa. He placed his hand on his son’s shoulder and smiled at the sorcerer. “Welcome, Salomon. I’m sorry I couldn’t find you when you were born.”

“You need not apologize for this, sir.” Salomon bowed slightly to King T’Chaka of Wakanda. “My teacher and foster mother gave me a very good life, which is why I became a magician. I have nothing to complain about; on the contrary, I am very content.”

"That's good. If you don't mind, T'Challa can show you around Wakanda's research facilities. Wakanda will be hosting a welcome banquet tonight." The King of Wakanda patted his son's arm again. "Take our guest to see them. We'll see you at the banquet."

“I will, Father.” T’Chaka kissed his father’s cheek. After bidding farewell to the King of Wakanda, T’Challa grabbed Salomon’s arm. “Come on,” he said, “I have someone to introduce you to. My sister, Suri, is the smartest person and the most brilliant scientist in Wakanda. She’ll definitely be interested in your magic. Don’t be shy; I don’t want her spending all her time in the lab.”

"I'm truly surprised; you don't have that kind of fuss about magic that outsiders usually have," Salomon said with a smile. Vibranium was his primary objective. Perhaps some haven't realized that vibranium alloy, or Adamantium, is a metal used to manufacture weapons and equipment. While it doesn't have as many uses as vibranium, Adamantium also means "fine gold."

If Stark's research on the disintegration field is complete, then the metal best suited to withstand that force is vibranium and its alloys. There are approximately ten thousand tons of vibranium reserves in the sacred mountains of Wakanda. Salomon learned this information through the sixth-circle spell, "Knowledge of Legends."

Wakanda's technology is inseparable from vibranium, and their technology is not compatible with other current human technologies.

From King T'Chaka's words, Salomon understood King T'Chaka's intention to open up Wakanda. This meant that 10,000 tons of vibranium would be insufficient to meet global demand. Although T'Challa mentioned his sister Suri was attempting to synthesize vibranium atoms, the cost was simply too high, far exceeding the value of vibranium itself.

Salomon was very grateful for the information T'Challa had provided, though the prince probably had no idea what Salomon was really up to.

As it happens, Salomon knows where vibranium is, and he will use this information as leverage to trade with Wakanda in exchange for strong industrial support.
