Chapter 404 Rebuilding the Immortal City

Chapter 404 Rebuilding the Immortal City (First Update)

"I'm glad I didn't see any lip plates or neck rings here, because it shows that there's always a misunderstanding about African culture. It's mainly those white Anglo-Saxon bastards. In their eyes, Africans always have to wear lip plates and neck rings, and Chinese people always have small eyes, long braids, and thin mustaches. If they knew how advanced Wakanda is, their attitude certainly wouldn't be much better."

Salomon and T'Challa discussed the Wakanda king's open-minded philosophy.

"They'll wage a war for vibranium, a covert war," Salomon declared confidently. "Their agents will frequently infiltrate the country, and then you'll see a lot of ridiculous things happen. You'll find that the scum of society will suddenly awaken, demanding human rights, then women's rights, animal rights, and even environmental rights, as if they were born saints. Their media will also sensationalize the situation in Wakanda, turning everything, good or bad, into something terrible. If you want to see the CIA's overseas operations manual, I can find it for you; these tactics have been used more than once."

"Wakanda possesses advanced technology sufficient to counter external threats," T'Challa stated confidently. "If those agents come, they won't be able to return. Hatut Zeraze has done an excellent job, and our people aren't that foolish. If you know more about Wakanda, you'll find that its people are wary of outsiders. Moreover, openness doesn't mean free entry and exit. My father only desired limited openness, allowing for the exchange of knowledge and culture."

“Yes, that’s exactly what I wanted to see.” Salomon shrugged. “When I showed up, I saw everyone calling the police, so it seems foreign spies can’t infiltrate so easily. But that’s not all their tricks. T’Challa, if hard knives don’t work, they’ll use soft knives, and they’re quite good at it.”

T'Challa looked at Salomon with suspicion. After all, he hadn't spent much time in Western society and wasn't very familiar with those methods.

"Let me give you an example. Citizens are issued high-tech bracelets from birth that can monitor their physical condition and communicate. They will say that this is a hindrance to citizens, that it is secretly collecting human data for experiments, or that the government is monitoring citizens' information and hindering freedom of information."

Salomon pointed to the palace. "You have a king, and they'll say that royal power oppresses citizens' rights and that nobles treat human life like dirt. Wakanda's king is male, so they'll say that Wakanda is unequal between men and women, and that a king who isn't female is discriminatory against women. Africa also has the custom of eating dog meat, so they'll say that Wakanda people are cruel and inhumane. If society is stable, then it means the people are under strict control; if society is chaotic, then it means the government is inactive and should step down... This kind of information will definitely flow into Wakanda and influence those young people whose views are not yet fixed. When our generation gets old, their methods will take effect."

T'Challa had taken Salomon's words to heart, while his sister Suri was much more relaxed. As Salomon and T'Challa sped underground through rows of glowing blue lampposts, she used the train's communication system to contact him. However, she completely ignored Salomon's warning, remaining engrossed in her invention.

"If what you say is true, then we certainly need to take precautions." T'Challa nodded. "But I think you're being too pessimistic. I also believe Wakanda is capable of facing the challenges."

"I hope so." Salomon nodded; he absolutely did not want his potential allies to fall because of such methods.

"Perhaps you'd be interested to know what kind of experiment I just conducted?" After getting out of the car, Suri greeted Salomon and then hugged his brother. "But it seems none of you are interested in knowing," Suri said with a look of disdain. "Boys are always like this; as long as the weapon works, they don't care about the technical details at all."

"That's hard to say," Salomon shook Suri's hand. "I assure you I'm very interested in these things."

All members of the Wakanda royal family (except the Black Panther tribe) attended the dinner, and Salomon enjoyed Wakandan delicacies. He spoke throughout about other topics, including his admiration for Suri's inventions and Wakanda's highly developed productivity; the banquet was a great success.

Salomon didn't mention his true purpose at all.

It wasn't until after the banquet, during a private conversation between Salomon and King T'Chaka of Wakanda, that his true intentions were gradually revealed. The king handed him a box made of vibranium, which he successfully opened after undergoing iris and DNA testing under Salomon's watchful eye.

A yellowed parchment was sealed in a transparent vacuum glass box, covered with densely packed, tiny writing. "The elixir of immortality, something Gilgamesh once possessed," King T'Chaka said. "My ancestors received it from King Solomon, and generation after generation, the Black Panther was entrusted with its safekeeping, along with the two bronze frogs. Now they have been returned to their rightful owner."

"Did Bastet tell you to do all this?" Salomon ignored the recipe, looked up at the king, and called out the so-called Black Panther God by his name.

"Yes," the king nodded.

"Has the Wakanda royal family reached any further cooperation agreements? From Wakanda's own perspective," Salomon said confidently. "Regarding vibranium, resource extraction, and weapons research and manufacturing, I think I can give Wakanda a lot, and in return, I want to establish a cooperative relationship."

The king raised an eyebrow with interest. In fact, Salomon's conversation with T'Challa had been overheard, and before the banquet, Suri had explained to his father what Salomon was interested in. King T'Chaka knew Salomon's attitude towards Wakanda, and he could roughly guess what Salomon wanted; he was simply curious about what Salomon could offer as leverage.

"I don't mind listening to you."

Aside from the parties involved, no one knows the content of Salomon's conversation with the King of Wakanda. However, ultimately, a treaty named the "High Wall Agreement" was signed in the name of the Wakanda panther god and Salomon. Shortly after its signing, the Immortal City beneath Rome welcomed a large influx of researchers and industrial equipment.

"I told you, I'll find you help." Salomon patted Maya Hansen, who excitedly threw herself into his arms. "Let me introduce you. This is Suri, the royal princess of Wakanda. She's the smartest person in all of Wakanda. With Wakanda's help, the wreckage will be cleared, the skyscrapers will be rebuilt, we can fully utilize all the facilities of the Immortal City, and the equipment I want will be developed with the help of the Wakanda."

"You promised me you'd let me study your portal!" Suri interrupted Salomon and Maya Hansen's conversation with annoyance. She couldn't wait to see how the portal worked. If Salomon hadn't stopped her foolish behavior, her finger might have been cut off by the portal.

"Of course, of course, but you have to fulfill the conditions of the contract first. Design and produce the powered armor I want, the neural-connected kind. Then help Ms. Hansen complete her genetic modification research, and the portal will be yours. This is a personal reward. Good luck, Ms. Suri."
