Chapter 408 Asgardian Fugitives

Chapter 408 Asgardian Fugitive (First Update)

Ultimately, it was Laura Crawford who inspired him. While he was still struggling with how to demonstrate the genetically modified warriors' talents through epigenetics, this idea rudely stormed into his mind. Indeed, what could be more gifted than the heroes of history? Perhaps their achievements were largely due to the times they lived in, but without some innate talent, it would have been utterly impossible.

The Knights of the Round Table, as figures in countless heroic legends, became Salomon's target, especially his most loyal knights. If he found their remains, Salomon could use dark magic to make flesh grow from the bones, and then obtain the knight's DNA. Warriors who received these knights' genes would take the Knights of the Round Table's names as their surnames, a promise Salomon made to the Venerable One. It was precisely because of his promise to continue the Knights of the Round Table that the Venerable One pointed out the burial place of the Knights of the Round Table.

This was a difficult task. His Holiness had built undisturbed tombs for all the fallen Knights of the Round Table, and it would be a considerable effort for Salomon to reopen them. But it was worthwhile. With the help of the library of Kamar-Taj and Athena's memories, Salomon successfully identified the resting places of a large number of historical heroes and wise men. These shining stars in the long river of human history will once again illuminate the human world in the future.

"I'll repay you for coming to help me, Your Majesty," Salomon said, slapping the dirt off his hands in an annoyed tone. Even if he exaggerated his actions, digging graves was still a dirty job involving getting stuck in the mud, and a shovel was the most common tool, along with the hammer and shovel Salomon had shoved into the young mage's hands. But the young mage turned and put down his tools, issuing commands to Salomon.

"You've got a job, Salomon." The usually smiling, round face of the young mage was now serious. "Mage Daniel wants you to help him, and he also wants you to bring your android maid."

"Can't the deacons of the New York Temple handle this?"

"They went, but few returned, mostly women." Little Wang clicked his tongue. "According to their descriptions, the target's voice could bewitch men. Those temple deacons were bewitched because they weren't properly protected, or their mental defenses were breached. This is exactly the same as the wanted notice issued by Asgard. Daniel is currently extremely busy; he also has to prepare for the Sorcerer Supreme's reprimand. That old dog…"

"Alright." Salomon jumped out of the pit, clapped his hands, and then casually wiped his hands on the young mage. "Where are we going?"

"New orders." Melinda May convened the Coulson team in the Airbus conference room to share the latest intelligence. This intelligence was issued directly to Coulson's team from S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. "S.H.I.E.L.D. has detected high energy readings in the airspace over the border area between California and Nevada."

"Where did Agent Coulson go?" Agent Grant Ward asked. Ever since Skye, the female hacker in the last mission, was seriously injured, Agent Coulson's movements had become shrouded in secrecy. The agent's intuition told him that this was definitely related to the secret base Agent Coulson had visited not long ago. Agent Coulson hadn't shared any information about it with anyone else, and the base was now buried in a collapsed mountain, its secrets forever unknown.

"I'm dealing with some personal matters," Melinda May declined to answer.

"These readings are the same as those detected by Dr. Sullivan and Dr. Foster in New Mexico and London." Simmons, from the science team, was the first to discover the characteristics of these readings, and she accurately concluded, "This indicates that Asgardians are coming."

"Thor?" Fitz gaped in surprise, looking like a fish out of breath.

"Uncertain. In any case, S.H.I.E.L.D. wants us to meet the visitors."

"Okay, okay, no need to worry, right? The Asgardians are our allies," Fizz said, somewhat excitedly.

"Loki isn't," Agent Grant Ward poured cold water on Fitz's enthusiasm. Suppressing the impulsive emotions of teammates was a necessary skill for agents.

"Wait, do you think that person might show up too?" Simmons suddenly exclaimed. "No, he definitely will!"

"You mean... oh, no..." Fitz clearly realized something too. "I don't like him. His existence means the subversion of science."

"He's an arrogant bastard!" Simmons added solemnly.

Salomon gazed with delight at his android maid donning the armor. This force-feedback armor, while not equipped with electronic muscle bundles or hydraulic motors, didn't dramatically increase strength and speed, but it was enough to wield the Wakandans' latest explosive projectile gun. This truly large-caliber explosive projectile gun, like a cannon, was loaded with high-explosive projectiles; a few bullets could destroy an ordinary armored personnel carrier.

Once his android army was created, each android could wear this armor, which would become his first army. Even though Salomon removed all the android's clothes during the process of dressing her and replaced her with a form-fitting, unadorned high-tech underwear, the android maid showed no shame whatsoever.

She was just a little annoyed because Salomon had dragged her out of the kitchen.

"Master, what kind of enemy could be more important than dinner?"

"She's supposedly an Asgardian woman." Salomon walked with his android maid through the wilderness near Death Valley National Park in southwestern Nevada. The planetary defense system had pinpointed this dimensional teleportation location; there was a natural portal here, and the Asgardian fugitive most likely arrived on Earth from here. California's consistently high temperatures not only bring it dazzling sunshine but also a plethora of motorcycle gangs in its towns—California has a population of only 4.2 million, but over 20 million gun owners. There's a story of out-of-town robbers firing into a crowd, only to be killed by several passersby who returned fire.

Therefore, Salomon deliberately wore the robes of the Holy Relic, as they were not bulletproof, at least not before the Holy Relic was activated.

"Asgardians?" The android weighed the alloy longsword forged by the Wakanda in his hand and the heavy explosive gun hanging at his waist, trying to assess whether his armament was sufficient based on the available intelligence.

"Yes." Salomon handed the wanted poster to the homunculus. "Lorelei, also known as the vixen, is an incredibly beautiful woman. Asgard has informed us of her crimes; she once used her charm magic to incite a rebellion."

"Master, why did you bring me along?" the android asked.

"Because her powers are ineffective against women, dear Dinah," Salomon said. "Besides, you'll be leading a group of homunculus in the future, and you need experience fighting the Asgardians first. Don't worry, I'll cast protective spells, and I don't think anyone can break through the protective spells the Venerable One casts on me."

They searched along Highway 160 for any trace of the Asgardian fugitives, including the towns and bars along the way. Salomon didn't want to ride a motorcycle, but the android's armor and his weight combined exceeded the motorcycle's load limit, especially the energy backpack and cooling system on the back of the armor, which were incredibly heavy. Therefore, they could only explore on foot.

Thankfully there was a portal, otherwise he would have died of thirst in the desert.

Suddenly, Salomon seemed to sense something. He looked up at the sky to one side, and after a moment, a beam of light mixed with multiple colors descended from the sky. "Let's go take a look over there," Salomon said. "It seems that the pursuers Asgard sent themselves have arrived. We need to make that Asgardian complete the formalities."
