Chapter 423 The Beginning of Chaos

Chapter 423 The Beginning of Chaos (Second Update)

The android maid hadn't been home for several days, and Bayonetta urged Salomon early this morning to bring the lovely maid back from the secret base. Salomon had to have lunch in Oxford today, and in the afternoon he had to cycle to the Bodleian Library to look up some historical materials; he wouldn't be able to return to New York until dinner.

Without the maids' help, the witches' lunch would consist of leftover cold cutlets from yesterday. As for the Hawaiian pizza option, Jeanne and Bayonetta tacitly ignored it.

"I will." Salomon leaned over and kissed Bayonetta's smooth back. The hickeys from the previous night lingered on her fair skin, and her long, flowing, dark hair cascaded over her shoulders in curls. A thin, bright blanket was draped over her languidly curled thighs. Black ribbons hung from her toes, and the alluring curve of her spine and her perfect waist-to-hip ratio captivated Salomon once more.

"What would you like to eat today?" He held the witch's slender waist with one hand and placed the other on her flat stomach. Salomon whispered in her ear, unaware of Jeanne's attention, "How about some Japanese food? How about salmon sushi?"

"Then dinner should be plentiful." Bayonetta said sleepily, her tone filled with a light laugh and desire. "Go early and come back early, darling."

"I need to get back to New York early today," Salomon informed the android maid.

"Master, the training of the android army is not yet complete." Dina seemed eager to return to her apartment, but at the same time, she also took the task entrusted to her by Salomon very seriously. The two responsibilities were pulling at her at the same time, leaving the young android maid in her single-digit years quite conflicted. Fortunately, Salomon, as the leader, had temporarily relieved Dina of her duties in the Immortal City, which made the android maid jump for joy—"Training can proceed whenever it wants," he said, "but it's unacceptable to make our dear witch unhappy."

Even so, the android maid still tried to show Salomon the results of her efforts during this time.

The Wakandas equipped each android with a standard longsword, forged from vibranium and virtually indestructible. Combined with the bolt-action rifles and force-feedback powered armor issued to Salomon, ten android maids could easily win a low-intensity war.

Meanwhile, Princess Shuri of Wakanda seemed less than impressed with Stark's reactor installed in his powerpack. She tentatively modified the powerpack's system, making it modular. So when Salomon returned to the Immortal City almost a month later, he saw Shuri's modular design—two flame-breathing steel wings and a main thruster mounted on the front of the powerpack; this module could be installed on any powerpack.

Although this flight device greatly increases mobility while consuming a lot of energy and shortening the continuous combat time of the android army, the problem can be solved by replacing the power backpack when the energy is depleted, since the entire armor is modularly designed.

"We use this flight device for training regularly, Master," the android Dina said, pointing to the observatory floating atop the rocky dome of the Immortal City. It was now a training ground for android flight, and they also helped the Wakanda explore the unknown areas of the Immortal City. Salomon could see the android legion streaking across the dark dome like crimson meteors, heading towards the still-unrepaired, dark regions.

"There's also swordsmanship training and live-fire shooting." Diana named each android. She took out a thick table detailing each android's performance in swordsmanship training, live-fire shooting, flight training, and even daily life. She selected the most outstanding androids to serve as subordinates, responsible for managing the daily affairs of the android army.

"You did a good job." Salomon glanced through the records and was quite satisfied with Diana's work. "You can take a few androids that you think are good to see the witch, and then have them patrol the area around the apartment. Something big is going to happen soon, so anything that might disturb my life with the witch is not allowed near that area."

"Is the alert level at its highest?" Diana asked.

Salomon nodded. Who knew what kind of chaos Hydra's rebellion would cause? "No armed forces are allowed to approach," he said. "Authorize kill orders."

"I understand, Master." Dina put away the form and continued, "Don't you need to speak with the princess of Wakanda? She seems to have strong objections to your genetic modification experiments."

"It's not her place to question this," Salomon said dismissively. "This is a cooperation between their god and me. Wakanda is not the country of the Wakanda royal family, but the country of Bastet. Anyone who wants to raise objections should be the King of Wakanda, Bastet's representative."

------------

"Yes, sir, I guarantee he won't find out." Natasha Romanoff, dressed in a black, tight-fitting leather suit, was receiving mission intelligence from her superior. Across the conference screen was Nick Fury's displeased face. Clearly, he was unhappy with Agent Romanoff's distracted behavior of fiddling with the stun gun while listening to the mission briefing, but this mission could only be carried out by Agent Romanoff to ensure its success, so Nick Fury could only pretend not to notice her subtle actions.

She was a spy, and even in a self-directed mission, she still had to play the most clandestine role. Only this time, she wasn't fully focused on the mission itself.

"Are you really sure they don't need my help on the other side?" Natasha didn't specify who she was referring to, but Nick Fury knew what she meant. "I think I have a pretty good relationship with that target," she said with a chuckle. "He's quite a polite little boy!"

“He’s not an ordinary little boy anymore, Agent Romanoff,” the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. said gravely. “But I believe his studies at Oxford are enough to distract him, and there’s no need to provoke him further. Everyone knows what happens when he focuses on S.H.I.E.L.D., and his thinking is dangerous; I’m worried he might be used by the enemy.”

"I will try to win him over," Agent Romanov said hesitantly after a moment's thought. "But the results have been getting worse in recent years. He doesn't even look into my collar anymore. I don't know if it's because he's shy or for some other reason. I think it's necessary to investigate."

"Perhaps it's because he's grown up." Nick Fury shrugged, omitting the details of Agent Coulson's encounter with Salomon and the missing Asgardians. "That's how boys become men, but don't underestimate your charm, Agent Romanoff. I believe Salomon Damonette still likes you quite a bit. And don't forget your long-term mission; remember to guide Steve Rogers to his date with the agent we've arranged. Just focus on this mission for now, and absolutely don't let anyone discover your true purpose."

"Yes, sir, I will." Agent Natasha Romanov closed her laptop. She propped her legs up on the desk and let out a long sigh. A top-secret mission, the kind of work only the most elite spies could accomplish. She thought she had become a warrior, but little did she know that the secrets she didn't want to know would still relentlessly pursue her.

She missed the tacos and wine in that dark, deserted restaurant. Although the food was a terrible mismatch, there was no one to eavesdrop or monitor her, and she was quite relaxed and happy during that brief time.

She just hoped that the ticket Salomon offered would work.
