Chapter 455 Stockholm Syndrome (Second Update)

"Tita." Salomon called to the android who was busy supervising the training of new recruits, handing her a longsword wrapped in linen. The weight at the end of the hilt is a golden bust of a contemplative woman with two faces and a hood. The hilt is of suitable length and can be held with one or two hands. The blade, which is slightly longer and thicker than a typical half-sword, gives this sword a substantial feel.

The intricate patterns on the flat, gray-black spine of the sword emitted a faint blue light, forming beautiful cracks like those on ice. All the arcane runes were carefully hidden within these patterns, including even a part of Salomon's true name.

This sword is a breathtaking work of art, so perfect that it's almost dizzying. From the intricate, clearly defined feather patterns on the angel-wing-shaped hilt to the tiny inscriptions surrounding the rubies, everything was painstakingly carved by fallen angel craftsmen and Salomon using chisels. As for the sculpture on the hilt, Salomon didn't use the lost-wax method; instead, he employed the sculpting techniques taught by Athena, carving on the molten metal using two different processes, which took shape after cooling.

(Part of the reason is that Salomon doesn't want to touch CAD anymore.)

As Tita carefully grasped the sword, the light on the icy patterns along its spine instantly intensified. Overjoyed, the android instinctively swung the sword, only realizing Salomon was standing right in front of her after a moment's realization. Tita's light brown skin flushed crimson; she wanted to apologize but was too flustered to speak, only managing to stammer out words.

Tita almost fainted, especially when Salomon stroked her short white hair.

Salomon treated these homunculus beings differently. Aside from Dina, the first one he created, he regarded the others as his own children. He especially favored Tita, the somewhat shy homunculus, who became remarkably obedient when he stroked her head. This feeling was strange, but it didn't stop him from promising Tita and the Sisterhood that they would forever enjoy the honor of standing by his side and fighting alongside him.

"You spoil them too much. You shouldn't spend so much time at the sorority. They're capable of taking care of themselves. They were born to serve you, not the other way around," Diana protested softly, expressing her dissatisfaction by "accidentally" forgetting to add sugar to her tea.

Salomon smiled, tacitly acquiescing to Diana's capriciousness.

Dina knew her master's schedule inside and out. Forging that longsword had taken up too much of Salomon's time, disrupting many plans. In Dina's eyes, even Salomon's afternoon tea was more important than forging weapons for the Sorority. She glared at Stephanie, who was sitting behind another desk, then silently stood next to Salomon, blocking Stephanie's gaze.

"What kind of sword are you talking about?" Stephanie seemed oblivious to Diana's attitude, and continued to ask the question as if no one else was there. "Can I see it?"

“That’s a secret of the Sorority,” Dinah quickly replied. She seemed to have no desire for Stephanie to be involved in the Sorority’s operations. Dinah was extremely wary of this woman who had only recently joined Salomon’s side and her family. She took a document about the Sorority’s weapons and equipment updates from Stephanie’s desk and put it back on Salomon’s desk.

"I handled all the documents for the Immortal City!" Stephanie stood up, displeased. "All of them! If it weren't for me, you wouldn't even be able to keep track of all the expenses for the Immortal City!"

“No, you can only access the Sorority’s files with my master’s permission.” Diana gave her a dangerous look. “Not now, mortal. The Sorority is only accountable to my master.”

Salomon remained silent, letting Dinah and Stephanie clash.
