Chapter 456 The Kitten Can't Stand This (First Update)

Diana's submission included suggestions for updating the Sorority's weaponry. She hoped Shuri could create a similar weapon by imitating the chainsaw sword to counter well-protected opponents. Vibranium is indeed powerful, but until Stark's research yields results, the vibranium longsword will still rely on the power of androids and powered armor.

In previous missions, the Sisterhood had discovered the limitations of the vibranium longsword against armored vehicles, and the androids urgently needed a weapon that could be used to cut through armor plates and a portable bomb with sufficient power.

Salomon signed the document, agreeing to fund the research. Stephanie glanced at it and also agreed, knowing that Salomon's next strategic move was to target the world's most war-torn regions, where such weaponry would be extremely useful.

Although the US military is not exactly known for its backbone, as long as they still possess armored forces, they will resist. Stephanie has roughly calculated how much funding and weaponry is needed to complete the next strategic phase. Currently, the Immortal City's production capacity is not yet up to par, and many preliminary studies for the Mars Foundry project are still incomplete. Even with the financial support from the Malik family, it is impossible to support Salomon's guerrilla warfare in the Middle East.

However, Salomon has already drafted an investment plan that includes not only investments in high-tech fields such as Roxon Corporation, but also plans to take advantage of the cryptocurrency crash to buy at the bottom and become a market maker, showing a willingness to ruthlessly wield the sickle to harvest American investors.

In any case, guerrilla warfare is not a direct confrontation, and its costs are much lower than those of a full-scale war. Furthermore, Salomon's follow-up plans in the region could be used to generate profits and sustain the war. Moreover, he didn't intend to act recklessly on his own; it was only natural for him to establish a puppet state to receive infrastructure aid from other countries.

Even though it was just an experiment, Salomon and Stephanie prepared very seriously for all the possible problems they might encounter.

The most important issue is religion. Salomon's consistent stance is to thoroughly eradicate all religions and burn all religious texts. All religious sites will be converted into schools, with all children forced to study there, and adults receiving education while working. Moreover, Salomon's approach will absolutely not be as lenient as that of another country, which has been ravaged by various forces for a long time; drastic measures are necessary.

Even if Stark confronted him demanding an explanation, Salomon could use Dr. Ethan's homeland as an example to show Stark, who had received an "education in freedom, democracy, and human rights," that no matter how powerful his Iron Man suit was, individual heroism couldn't save the world. Simple economic aid wouldn't work, and armed intervention was even less feasible; only by fundamentally transforming that land could Dr. Ethan's last wish be fulfilled.

Salomon didn't care at all about being accused of being "dictatorial" or "authoritarian." How much worse could it get? He had the power to overturn the table.

After a slight objection, Stephanie agreed to the plan and then, rubbing her forehead, began to work on it. She had so much to do; if Salomon hadn't given her some potions, she, as an ordinary person, simply couldn't have accomplished so much.

She's practically the busiest person in the Immortal City.

The arcane mage also suggested in the documents given to Shuri that she miniaturize Wakanda's energy shield and research how to install it on the Sisterhood's power armor. This way, the power armor's protection level wouldn't rely solely on the strength of the titanium alloy outer armor and vibranium shock absorption system.

Salomon felt no remorse for arbitrarily assigning tasks; he had never made anyone work overtime. He wasn't overly reliant on the protective capabilities of the vibranium armor; many forces in this world could bypass it and affect the user. For example, many magical effects that didn't directly affect the body but rather the environment and mind were things that vibranium armor couldn't defend against.

You might ask how Salomon knew that?

Because he saw T'Challa slip and fall on the ground where he had cast the grease spell.

------------

The Cheshire Cat, which had jumped onto the table, sniffed the black thing in front of it with a puzzled look.

This isn't food, the Cheshire Cat thought. This thing smells like a glowing box.

Every day, it sees its owner facing a very interesting glowing box, in which live many people and animals, and more importantly, many adorable kittens. The Cheshire Cat loves to sleep on the warm, glowing box, even though its owner doesn't like it doing so, but the willful kitten won't listen to reason.

The Cheshire Cat looked up at its owner on the other side of the table. Its owner was busy among a pile of colorful threads and small green and black cylinders, his hands occasionally emitting sizzling white smoke. The Cheshire Cat couldn't understand what its owner was doing, but it had already smelled the things on the table; they all smelled the same as the glowing box. After confirming there was no food among them, the Cheshire Cat aimlessly wandered among the items until it spotted a small, black, square box next to the table.

It glanced at its owner, then silently lifted its paw and walked over, squatting in front of the small black square box. The Cheshire Cat, confirming again that its owner was too busy to attend to anything else, cautiously extended its round paw, attempting to knock the thing off the table.

"Shit! Cheshire!" Salomon jumped up from his chair, shaking his fingers which were still numb from the electric shock.

The sorcerer was furious, but the Cheshire Cat remained completely innocent, as if it had no idea what it had just touched. It was an observation device recently designed by Jane Foster, capable of precisely detecting various signal readings before the formation of the Einstein-Rosen bridge; Salomon was working on one of its components. The entire device required a high-powered generator, and Salomon could only make do with car batteries during the manufacturing phase.

"Why did you touch the switch!" Salomon grabbed the Cheshire Cat by the scruff of its neck and lifted it in front of him, but the Cheshire Cat still tilted its head back, indicating that it knew nothing. "Get lost! Get lost!"

Salomon sighed and tossed his magical pet to the ground. Dina silently held the soldering iron, glancing at the Cheshire Cat trying to cuddle with her, but then silently looked away, pretending not to see the cat rubbing against her legs. Seeing its attempt to charm fail, the Cheshire Cat raised its head in dissatisfaction, meowed a few times at its owner, and then, under the arcane mage's glare, strode confidently out of the study, completely unconcerned about its dinner.

A moment later, Bayonetta walked in carrying the Cheshire Cat. The witch paid no attention to the Cheshire Cat's complaints, letting the chubby cat snuggle into her arms. She wasn't there to argue with Salomon; she planned to discuss the birthday party with him—the hotel had sent a menu for the guests to choose from. Bayonetta and Jeanne had selected their preferred dishes, and now it was Salomon's turn to choose. This was to take into account the guests' dietary restrictions; the witches didn't know what the Kamar-Taj sorcerers liked or disliked.

"Don't worry, there's no need to avoid meat when eating out. Vegetarianism is for adjusting the body and testing willpower. Once esoteric practitioners have a certain level of cultivation, they can eat whatever they want. It's not a big deal."

"Meow!"

"The Cheshire Cat says it wants tuna," Bayonetta said with a laugh. "I think we should add another seat. By the way, I've already chosen the estate; when are you planning to pay?"
