Marvel Magic Case Files
Chapter 474, 2 of 3
Chapter 474 Two-thirds (First Update)
Damon was locked in a sunny cell at Kamar-Taj headquarters. Salomon believed the fresh air and sunshine from the snow-capped mountains would improve his mental state. True to his word, Damon was indeed placed in the best cell, several magical seals away from the tentacle-covered monsters. Demonic possession inflicts immense psychological trauma on humans, and currently there are no good methods for recovery; at best, one can drink some calming potions and get some sleep.
Sometimes Salomon even considered going to the pharmacy to get some calming medicine so he could have a good night's sleep.
As for Gabby, the nearly insane nun was sent to the most heavily guarded cell in the Immortal City for the most advanced scientific examination. This facility, prepared by Salomon for a range of dangerous targets, was on par with Lorelei's cell and located in the basement of the underground city. After being cleansed by the androids, Gabby immediately underwent a series of unprecedented obstetric examinations, especially an ultrasound of the fetus.
Perhaps Baal felt his son and daughter weren't living up to his potential and wanted to create another offspring, so this unborn child clearly possessed certain special characteristics. Almost everyone with the blood of the Great Demon only reproduced on Earth for one generation before losing the opportunity to have children for various reasons. Kamar-Taj would absolutely not allow demon offspring to multiply into a family on Earth.
For example, Danny and his mother will have a dignified life, but he absolutely cannot marry and have children—that's non-negotiable. Anyone who tried to negotiate died. Damon's only child with Tiffany, in a sense, was a progenitor of his own offspring with his father; Gabby was merely a vessel.
Salomon never imagined that the leader of the Demon Pillars would do something like this. He needed to check if the fetus's skull had mutated. Judging whether a human had mutated by examining the skull was the simplest way, especially for these Typhoons, who usually grew horns after awakening, or whose tails, which should have degenerated during development, continued to grow.
He hadn't decided whether to force Gabby to have an abortion or let the baby be born, using Baal's offspring to add leverage to his plan to attack Hell, just like he had with Anna. Everything was uncertain until Shuri examined Gabby and the fetus, because this near-pure-blooded demon child, once fully developed, would very likely tear open Gabby's womb and be born.
Like the monsters born from the rituals of those devil-worshipping cults, Salomon wasn't even sure how much sanity this child would possess after birth.
A group of sorority members, fully armed, kept a close watch on Gabby day and night. If the fetus in her womb mutated and tore open the womb to be born, the androids would not hesitate to open fire and use flamethrowers and positive energy potions to purify the entire room.
Shuri was extremely dissatisfied with this arrangement. She had no idea what the Devil's Child was, nor did she know why she needed to carry an amulet during the examination. Salomon had no intention of explaining to her, because Shuri, like Stark, was an extremely curious person, especially when such people also possessed a certain level of practical skills; the trouble they could cause increased exponentially along with their intelligence.
If it weren't for the obstruction of the Wakanda royal family, Shuri might have even wanted to study the Black Panther God, and then the Wakanda royal family would undoubtedly have been replaced. Without Bastet's divine power, the radiation sickness from the Heart-Shaped Grass would only lead to mutation. The glowing substance on the Heart-Shaped Grass is high-intensity radiation, the kind that would explode if a Geiger counter were placed on it. The radiation sickness caused by near the Heart-Shaped Grass has been cured by the Wakandans, but even with Wakandan medical standards, directly ingesting the Heart-Shaped Grass juice would only result in death.
This also means that the current Wakanda royal family has lost its legitimacy.
Even though she lived in a world ruled by gods, Shuri was excluded from all matters of the magical realm. She could do nothing but examine Gabby and the fetus.
"You must..."
"My decision will not change, Shuri." Salomon didn't even glance at the Wakandan princess who was protesting to him. He waved his hand. "You still have the single-molecule cutting material project to work on. The important thing is to speed up the process and upgrade all the weapons in the androids' hands. Those are their main weapons."
"I've become one of your researchers?" Su Rui's eyes widened, as if he had heard something unbelievable.
"You are. This is a deal between me and Wakanda. All research results will be shared by the Immortal City and Wakanda; no one will lose out," Salomon continued. "Also, it's summer in the Southern Hemisphere now, and the exploration team is about to set off. The mining location I provided is only a general area; the specific locations will require extensive exploration. Your brother requested more precise locations, so I plan to have the androids take the prophecy scroll there, provided you solve the problem of the transport plane's engine core overheating."
"Phew—" Su Rui rolled her eyes. She finally realized just how busy she was. There were simply too many research projects progressing simultaneously in the Immortal City; all the scientists were overwhelmed and had to work overtime day after day. No one knew that Christmas was approaching because they were all too busy.
Salomon stood aside, watching the flustered Su Rui walk back. His cooperative relationship with Wakanda was far too fragile, but he was a man of his word, and it was really not appropriate for him to do anything underhanded now. Therefore, he had to find a solution. Stephanie was on vacation, so he had to handle these troublesome matters personally, and he also had to personally inform her of some other minor matters.
"Tita!" Salomon drawled. The commander of the android combat squad looked at his master with a puzzled expression.
"Tell those girls not to break the pasta in half when they're cooking it," he sighed. Those Slavic girls never paid attention to the integrity of their pasta when cooking; if the Romans on the surface saw them doing that, they'd definitely call the police.
Salomon certainly didn't want the first enemy his immortal city would face to be the Italian police.
"You know my girlfriend is Italian, right?" he said. "Breaking pasta in half is a crime!"
"Master, did they do anything else wrong?" Tita asked seriously, pulling out a pen and paper, seemingly wanting to write down what Salomon had said. The sorcerer seemed speechless. He knew Tita's overly serious nature; this adorable android might actually get a scolding from the girls for something like this.
"Forget it, let's not talk about it anymore. Anyway, I can't see how they cook pasta. Just don't order Hawaiian pizza." The sorcerer waved his hand. "Give those girls a holiday for Christmas, and you can all go to Rome together."
"Master, but their training isn't finished yet." Tita hesitated for a moment, but ultimately contradicted Salomon's order. "They haven't heard your... instructions yet. I'm worried that some of them won't be able to endure the pain of training and will try to escape while shopping."
"It's alright," Salomon said nonchalantly. "They don't know where the entrance to the Immortal City is anyway. If anyone wants to quit, just erase their memories and put them back. We don't need involuntary people joining our cause, otherwise we'll have morale problems when we face our enemies in the future."
Tita nodded, secretly planning to intensify the education on Salomon's personality cult.
Since Salomon had given her the right to educate those girls, she wouldn't allow any traitors to emerge from her ranks.
