Chapter 533 Betrayal by All

Chapter 533 Betrayal and Abandonment (Second Update)

Stephanie fulfilled her role as secretary to the fullest. She listened silently to the secrets discussed at the dinner table, mentally noting key information, and never made eye contact. She wouldn't utter a single word unless Salomon required it, much like a playmate of a nobleman's youth in court. She knew this represented an opportunity to enter the heart of Salomon's world, and she deeply cherished the attention Salomon had given her.

She overheard the Asgardian Father recounting secrets and tales from tens of thousands of years ago, as if chatting casually with a junior. The Queen of Asgard, meanwhile, offered guidance and critiques of Salomon's magical skills, particularly praising his recent alchemical creations. The Queen's gaze sent chills down Stephanie's spine, and she quickly retreated, disappearing from the Queen's sight. She keenly sensed the hidden reefs beneath the surface, but she remained unaware of the motives behind these conversations or why the Asgardian King had appeared on Earth. She eagerly awaited more from Salomon.

Salomon had promised her a completely different world, taking her to explore beyond the stars and into the endless abyss. Now, that promise was gradually coming true. She had seen aliens that most Earthlings had never seen in their lifetime, and she had also witnessed various civilizations in the universe, but this was not the end.

"Our destiny is to stand atop the galaxy, Stephanie," Salomon said gently, yet with an undeniable air of authority. "This goal will take many, many years to achieve. In the face of unimaginable catastrophe, we will be the safety net for the continuation of human civilization. This has always been Kamar-Taj's mission; we are the guardians of humanity."

This lofty sense of mission is what Stephanie has always pursued.

This is why she was such a staunch supporter of the Hydra faith; this martyr's mentality was also a means for the conservative faction within Hydra to solidify their beliefs through a noble mission and sacrifice. However, after Salomon showed her a grander world, the unvented sense of mission and sacrifice led her to join Salomon's side, rather than completely succumbing to violence.

Secrets, so many secrets. Secrets excited her.

Odin ate meat while commenting on Salomon's martial arts skills. The sorcerer could only listen with his head down, occasionally patting the two large dogs begging for food beside him, and sometimes tearing off a piece of meat to feed the raven that swaggered across the table. The staff covered in a layer of black ash leaned against the side, and an unsuspecting person would never guess that it belonged to the famous Gungnir.

"Young people these days all prefer unconventional weapons." The young people Odin was referring to were under two thousand years old. "Thor likes a hammer, and Loki likes a knife." The Allfather was very dissatisfied with his two children. "Only those who use axes, swords, and spears are true men."

Frigga rolled her eyes; she knew Odin was talking nonsense again.

That hammer was clearly given to Thor by him. Of course, whenever this topic comes up, Odin sighs and talks about his disobedient daughter.

If not for the constraints of responsibility, Odin would have preferred to be a space pirate, leading Asgardian warriors to board and plunder enemy ships. However, the responsibilities of being the ruler of the Nine Realms bound him firmly to the throne, making that carefree life forever impossible. Before him stood someone like that; while Thor had a period of carefree, unrestrained joy, Salomon was far too sensible, inherently bound by responsibility, never daring to do anything out of line.

If only Thor and Loki were this obedient. Odin sighed, for he knew this responsibility was too cruel for any one person. He had sought the prophecy, but the result was not good; Salomon and Thor would face an extremely terrible future, a cataclysm that would engulf the Nine Realms, and Odin did not know how these two young men (under two thousand years old) would save the world. He had made many preparations, but now it seemed completely insufficient—the souls of the warriors he had gathered had been forged into Heroic Spirits. Those warriors were hidden in the Land of the Dead, not Valhalla. When he sent his daughter to Helheim, he had also prepared some contingency plans for her.

The cunning Odin never puts all his eggs in one basket.

Regardless of who ultimately wins, Asgard will forever stand tall.

"Motherfuck!!" Nick Fury, upon receiving Natasha Romanoff's report, jumped out of his tattered blankets in a rage. He finally knew where Salomon had hidden the resources they'd looted, but he also knew he had no good way to get them back. According to Agent Romanoff, Salomon seemed to have a construction plant where something that looked even larger than a sky carrier was under construction. The problem now was that he feared Salomon might launch an attack on secular governments; their mysterious magic combined with their dubious high technology could easily crush the Avengers—he remembered how Salomon had dealt with the Hulk; that sorcerer didn't even need to see the Hulk to solve the problem.

Stabilizing Salomon's emotions became the top priority.

Nick Fury looked around and found that the insects were either sleeping or high. He retreated back into the filthy cup and issued a command through the secret route.

Natasha Romanov took out her computer and showed the instruction to Salomon.

"That's all?" Salomon raised an eyebrow. "Is that all Nick Fury is capable of?"

"I don't know what orders he gave Agent Hill, but I'm sure he won't tell me the whole truth." Natasha sniffed Salomon's scent. Frigga's lunch was far too lavish, with stewed bear meat and roasted steak, like a Christmas family feast, the aroma of the stew lingering on Salomon.

"And roast chicken? Where did you eat? What animal's fur is that?"

"A wolf, or a dog." He turned to Princess Shuri beside him. "Can you trace the source of the signal?"

"I can't, Wakanda's communication protocols are completely different from the outside world," Shuri said, pointing to another computer. "But they can."

"Don't let AI access military satellites, at least not now." Salomon closed the laptop, turning off the screen and ignoring the conversation between the machine and the Samaritan. He was extremely wary of AI because it was incredibly easy to manipulate, turning it into a tool in someone else's hands. It had no loyalty, judging solely by logic. Before hardware upgrades and software reprogramming, Salomon didn't want AI to handle too much work.

"I need to find Nick Fury," Salomon commanded from behind his desk. "I will use divination magic to predict the area where Nick Fury is located in one hour. The AI can use facial recognition to find him." He said, "I know what Nick Fury plans for the future, but I won't allow it, because he wants to release those disgusting green amoebas onto Earth!"
