Chapter 582 Stripper
Chapter 582 Stripper (First Update)
Combating the human trafficking chain in Eastern Europe has been a long-term task for the Immortal City, aiming to select qualified girls to fill the sorority reserve, while men, after receiving education, would become staff members of the Immortal City. This modern slave trade is worth billions of euros and spans across Europe and America. Politicians seeking votes are more concerned with cats, dogs, or any kind of animal that will end up on the dinner table than with slaves who could die at any moment, or with the vested interests of refugees and identity politics (you know what I mean).
After all, slaves don't have the right to vote; only living people do, and refugees who have obtained legal status also do.
In this respect, modern Europe bears a strong resemblance to ancient Greece.
A 2005 film titled "Trafficking in Persons" was made, but the problem of human trafficking in Eastern Europe did not receive sufficient attention from local governments. In 2010, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) submitted a report at a global conference on trafficking in persons. This report covered human trafficking cases that could be solved in 148 countries, outlining patterns and flows of human trafficking at the global, regional, and national levels, and how traffickers recruit and exploit victims using harsh socioeconomic conditions—yet all efforts failed to solve the problem. The United Nations could do nothing, and even peacekeeping forces stationed in Europe had participated in the Eastern European slave trade. Gangs, terrorist organizations, and local governments alike were all involved in this chain of operations. To this day, the problem of human trafficking in Eastern Europe has not only failed to improve but has worsened.
Victoria Hand has an intelligence team specifically designed to handle this kind of problem.
Solutions include, but are not limited to, airborne decapitation strikes, heavy artillery bombardment, and mechanized infantry sweeping advances.
The Immortal City doesn't care who's involved in this industry chain, what their status or social standing is; its massive warships and cannons can solve everything. Elijah, the former mob boss currently imprisoned, was a great help in this matter. If he hadn't exposed the human trafficking network on the US East Coast, Agent Victoria Hand wouldn't have been able to crack down on the participants so quickly. Agent Hand had worried that Salomon's violent methods would provoke international backlash, leading to the Immortal City being designated a terrorist organization; however, reality has shown her that Salomon doesn't care.
The Sky Carrier appeared directly near the Virgin Islands through a portal, engaging in battle with the Clinton family's private army. The now wealthy and powerful Immortal City left behind a nuclear warhead amidst the carnage and craters—the very same warhead the Sisterhood had seized, and the same one launched by the World Security Council during the Battle of New York. No organization with global nuclear strike capabilities could be ignored. Even the CIA, after its investigation, had to swallow this bitter pill, as the Immortal City's past actions suggested that launching a nuclear missile at Washington was not out of the question.
The Immortal City is still shrouded in Hydra's skin. Agent Victoria Hand has extensive experience in cleaning up traces, and all clues have been completely severed with the death of Alexander Pierce. Even the CIA cannot trace the true face of the Immortal City, let alone know who the tyrant sitting on the throne is.
The CIA referred to this organization as the Kraken, meaning a sea monster that appears and disappears suddenly, like the Kraken.
Stephanie, as the biggest contributor to this mission, was rewarded and given the authority to select talent from among the girls who were rescued to fill positions in the Immortal City's administrative team. Of course, population wasn't the only gain from this mission; the rescues were merely a side benefit. Stephanie and the Sorority's primary objective was a ledger containing intelligence on the source of the population—intelligence indicated that Whitehall's biotechnology company was upstream in this supply chain. He collected people for human experimentation while simultaneously using human trafficking to influence the US government. Stephanie's swift and decisive action intimidated the few remaining Hydra leaders, forcing Whitehall to concede defeat before meeting Salomon.
Surrender, or die—that was the warning Stephanie gave Whitehall.
She believed Whitehall was capable of knowing the details of the investigation into the battle, and he could fully understand the subtext revealed by the nuclear warhead: an organization capable of seizing nuclear warheads from an air force base near Washington was connected to the Malik family, whose leader, Stephanie Malik, and Salomon Damonette, who was often seen by her side, were the owners of that armed force, and they had reached a cooperation agreement.
Salomon was late because he had gone to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for negotiations.
The negotiations did not go very smoothly.
Salomon secretly spat; he hadn't expected to run into an old acquaintance during this negotiation.
Agent Coulson and his team are tracking something called the "Obelisk".
That object was the original 0-84 item of S.H.I.E.L.D., seized from Dr. Whitehall by Margaret Carter's Howling Commandos shortly before the end of World War II. However, neither Whitehall nor Peggy Carter knew the true purpose of the Obelisk, and Skye's father called it the "Prophet." Salomon wasn't particularly interested in knowing the details (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2, Episodes 1-9), and he was too lazy to tell anyone what the Obelisk was, especially when a gun was pointed at his head.
More than the Kree's chemical products, he was more concerned about Dr. Whitehall's organ transplant surgery. What kind of power allowed this old Nazi to remain as energetic as a young man? How did he overcome the rejection problem?
"I don't know how you got involved, but you'd better not move, Salomon." Agent Coulson sounded nervous, his finger on the trigger of his pistol. "This isn't a non-lethal weapon. Tell me what you know: Where is Skye? What's your relationship with Whitehall?"
The sorcerer, sitting in the reception chair, rolled his eyes.
Damn Whitehall, is this the gift he was talking about?
At the start of the meeting, Whitehall, wearing old-fashioned round-framed glasses, appeared refined and approachable, showing no trace of the old Nazi's brutal nature. He then mentioned preparing a gift for Salomon before leaving the room, asking his guests to wait in the living room for a moment.
"You might not believe it, but I've been invited to a striptease. Is that alright?" After receiving permission, Salomon pulled an invitation exuding a captivating fragrance from the lining of the shroud. Coulson took the invitation, quickly glanced at it, and then wore a very strange expression. He remembered the scantily clad girls in a room he had passed earlier. "Looks like someone set me up, Agent Coulson. I thought this was a normal business event. Oh, you mean Skye?" Salomon tried to look innocent and bewildered. "I thought the performer would be the most beautiful vintage lady in the world, not some unkempt wild girl."
"Don't you know what's going on here?" Agent Coulson threw away the invitation and continued to point his gun at the sorcerer.
"Isn't it normal to have armed guards when watching private striptease shows? I remember that's how it's always portrayed in TV dramas."
"Don't try anything funny, Salomon."
"Don't be foolish, Coulson. If I were with Whitehall, you'd be dead already." Salomon's expression suddenly changed. He abruptly stood up, facing Agent Coulson. "I finally got close to Whitehall, and here you are. I'm investigating a long-standing interstellar case about the Kree's genetic experiments on humans. This case involves the gods of the Prime Material Plane (the Celestials) and their offspring (the Proto-Race, the creators of the Kree), and even the human genetic code. Whitehall is the most knowledgeable person on Earth about this, and I want to uncover the results of his experiments. Now you've ruined all my plans, and I also want to know where Whitehall has gone!"
"Alright." Agent Coulson, somewhat skeptical, holstered his gun at the imposing Salomon. "My business is important too; millions could lose their lives at any moment. We share a common goal. Skye has been captured by Whitehall, and her father is involved." He took a deep breath. Although he still doubted Salomon's motives, he was certain the arcane mage wouldn't lie to him, and past collaborations proved Salomon was on humanity's side. "I need to rescue Skye and stop Whitehall from using the [Obelisk], a weapon of mass destruction. Help me, Salomon, with your magic. I promise to hand over Whitehall's research findings to you, and we'll interrogate him together."
"I just want his brain, I want a complete brain," Salomon said. "If Whitehall's brain is damaged, our agreement is broken. Understand?"
"make a deal."
"Very good." Salomon whistled, and a few barks came from the shadows beneath his feet. Coulson only felt a blur before his eyes, and several dark figures rushed towards various corners of the mansion, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
