Chapter 607 Athena and the New Humans
Chapter 607 Goddess of Wisdom and the New Humans (Second Update)
The air was thick with the scent of desire. He racked his brains, trying to find the right words to describe the beauty before him. Whether it was her smooth, shapely shoulders, her slender waist, her graceful, long neck, or her strong, powerful legs, the sight before him filled him with awe. Every time, he would carefully observe the witch's perfect figure, never tiring of the sight, just like now. Bayonetta emerged from the bathroom, her body still damp, and sat before the dressing table. She raised her arms high, using her hands to slowly curl her thick, cascading hair. The cloud-like hair piled over her shoulders, revealing her fair, swan-like neck, still damp with a few strands. Crystal-clear water droplets, full of longing, slid slowly down her stunning waistline and straight spine.
"Come to Mommy, little one." She winked at Salomon's reflection in the mirror. The next moment, Salomon vanished from the bed and reappeared behind her, his hands caressing her wet waist. He kissed the witch's neck passionately. The fatigue after the passion slowly dissipated, and Salomon's body recovered, ready for the next battle.
"That's a bit odd, Bayonetta," Salomon said, half annoyed and half embarrassed. "It sounds a little embarrassing."
"Do you think you can play like this with anyone else?" The witch proudly raised her chin, accepting the sorcerer's kiss. Her eyes were half-closed as she watched Salomon put on her earrings and necklace. Even without clothes, the jewelry shone with extraordinary beauty on the witch. "Next up is the strict teacher, and I have a little whip too," she said with a laugh. "Boya, you're such a bad student, attacking the teacher in class. You need to be taught a lesson. Hmm~"
"I still prefer the dancer's outfit." Salomon thought of the beautiful dress in the witch's wardrobe, made of pale purple tulle and gold chains. When Bayonetta put on that figure-hugging outfit, her irresistible charm instantly broke through his defenses, so much so that he still occasionally thinks of the light gold chains on those cute toes.
Just as Bayonetta and Salomon were whispering to each other, the bedroom door was rudely opened.
Joan of Arc stood there with her arms crossed, her face full of displeasure.
"It's been five hours! When are you going to stop playing?!" She raised an eyebrow, scanning the bedroom, then sniffed. Her face flushed instantly. Joan of Arc knew what that smell was, but the white-haired witch tried her best to remain calm. "You actually... Diana has already prepared dinner! Come and eat! Your foster mother is coming soon. That woman has been eyeing us for a long time. This scene is comparable to 'The 120 Days of Sodom'! Hurry up and get dressed, don't let her see you behaving so ridiculously!"
"I think there's still some time. Joan, aren't you going to join us? Don't be shy, my friend, it's not as bad as you say." Faced with Bayonetta's invitation, Joan hesitated for a moment. Her eyes widened, and she fumbled around with her hands, but her pistol was in the dressing table, and she had no weapon on her person. Finally, she slammed the bedroom door shut and ran back to her room, leaving Bayonetta with a series of laughs.
Athena's visit was not sudden, but premeditated.
Ever since Salomon met with the Earth Mother, she had wanted to inquire about his gains. Although Salomon's analysis of his own nature was extremely cold and ruthless, he still felt somewhat embarrassed when facing his foster mother, because the complicated blood relationship between him, Kamar-Taj, and the Greek pantheon was truly baffling.
Athena's strong, muscular arms were adorned with golden armbands carved with Greek key patterns, and her sandals, made of ruby ribbons twisted with gold thread, were spotless. Her beautiful golden hair was styled in a bun, tightly tied back. Gold was Athena's favorite color; both her shield and armor were a magnificent gold. Even without armor, dressed only in a simple white dress, the paradoxical combination of purity and luxury was perfectly embodied in her. Salomon thought that if he were Prince Paris, he would probably give her the golden apple without hesitation.
She crossed her legs and sat on the leather sofa as if she were the lady of the house.
Joan of Arc rolled her eyes, clearly expressing her disdain for Athena. If it weren't for Salomon, she would have already fought this arrogant woman. She poked Bayonetta with her finger, but the black-haired witch pretended not to notice.
"I've known about this for a long time. You're my adopted son, and I've been observing you for a long time. Do you really think you can hide the uniqueness of your soul from me?" The wise female warrior cut an apple with a knife, appearing completely nonchalant. "You think I took you to see Hecate just to confirm this? If that's your reason for not coming to see me, then it only means you're too shy. That's good; it means your essence hasn't yet erased your humanity. I think you also think that's a good thing, don't you?"
The domineering foster mother didn't give Salomon any room to speak.
She stuffed the sliced apple pieces into Salomon's mouth as if he were still a child.
"I think I can do it myself, Athena." Salomon sighed, accepting the fruit before the witch could stab the table with her knife, refusing Athena's offer to feed him. He couldn't help but wonder what Athena's purpose was in coming here; it certainly wasn't as simple as "the children in the orphanage wanting to see Salomon."
The goddess of war glanced at the sorcerer busy distributing fruit to the witch. No matter how powerful Salomon was, he seemed perfectly content playing the role of an ordinary person at home, doing things including, but not limited to, washing clothes, doing dishes, and preparing food. Athena could only tentatively consider this a manifestation of humanity, a means for Salomon to retain his humanity while suppressing his divinity. However, the future of this world didn't need these things, and even if Salomon was unwilling, he had to confront his true self.
He was more powerful than Zeus, the king of the gods; he should fulfill his mission. The goddess of wisdom's calculations began the moment she aided Salomon. Conflict between Salomon and the Olympian gods was inevitable, and she would always side with the victor. She had already placed her bet.
"Did the Earth Mother make you any suggestions?" she asked. Salomon nodded in agreement.
What are your thoughts?
"I don't think we need those things yet." The sorcerer shook his head, winking at the witches to indicate he would be honest, but not now. The Goddess of War scrutinized her adopted son, nodded, and agreed. She knew Salomon had things he didn't want to say, but that didn't mean there would be a rift between them. She knew Salomon loved her, and she loved him too, and while she had her own calculations towards Salomon, those feelings couldn't be easily erased. The future would be a win-win situation; she didn't intend to use Salomon as a disposable tool. She was the mother of heroes, not their enemy.
Athena left, leaving behind a mess.
Salomon could only reveal the deal proposed by the Earth Mother to the witches, though he omitted a large part of it, including Athena's. He only said that the Earth Mother intended to use his soul to create powerful new humans, and these special individuals would share certain traits with him, such as excellent thinking abilities, outstanding combat skills, or powerful magical talents.
Bayonetta couldn't help but utter a vulgar curse, one that was even somewhat obscene for a witch. Salomon quickly assured the witch that he didn't need to do so for the time being.
