Chapter 606 Ancient Philosophy and Modern Physics

Chapter 606 Ancient Philosophy and Modern Physics (First Update)

Dr. Hank Pym gave Salomon a reluctant welcome, simply because the man possessed a theoretical solution to how to enter the quantum realm and, to some extent, supported fractal cosmology. Salomon believed that true entry into the quantum realm required collapsing into a three-dimensional fractal geometry.

This theory is quite interesting and rather unorthodox.

This means our universe may exist in the subatomic space of the smallest particles in another universe, and that another universe may exist in the subatomic space of a larger universe, and so on. The origin of the Pym particle is another dimension at the microscopic scale, which is enough to prove the theoretical basis for traversing the quantum realm. This also forced Salomon to look back with a rational eye at the Avatamsaka Sutra, the Brahma Net Sutra, the Diamond Sutra, and the Great Perfect Enlightenment Sutra, which he had read out of boredom when he was a child.

In ancient times, there were many methods of spiritual practice, and the teachings of the sages often contained truths. Salomon believed that as a legitimate monk with an ordination certificate issued by the Religious Affairs Bureau, he should not view those scriptures with outdated and backward perspectives. At the next exchange meeting, he could also be recommended by Kamar-Taj to go to the Longhu Mountain Celestial Master's Mansion, the ancestral temple of the Zhengyi sect, to exchange and learn, and share his experience in making talismans (copying scrolls).

Although his facial features differ greatly from those of Chinese people, it doesn't stop him from speaking fluent Chinese. The vast collection of books in the Kamar-Taj Library also allows him to read far more scriptures than the average monk. When he was young and unable to perform magic, he even read the complete "Zhengyi Jing" collected by His Holiness, and he would not lose in a debate on scriptures.

Dr. Hank Pym maintained a disdainful gaze as Salomon eloquently explained the quantum realm from the perspectives of past religious philosophies (+30). If it weren't for the inclusion of assumptions and calculations regarding whether users of Pym particles within the quantum realm existed as wave functions, Dr. Pym would have long since lost patience. He detested the intrusion of philosophical thought into physics; he had never engaged in philosophical reflection in his life, as it was not something a physicist should consider.

"Quantum superposition state!" Dr. Pym slammed his hand on the table, bringing Salomon's off-topic conversation back on track, but at the same time knocking the cookies out of the bowl and scattering crumbs all over the draft paper.

"The idea that you will be defined as the probability of existing at a certain point in space at every point in time is not necessarily correct, but it is indeed possible that you exist in the form of a wave function." Salomon glanced at the irritated old man. The truth he articulated helped to analyze the Grand Unified Theory, although it was not a beautiful formula, it was enough to inspire the research of modern theoretical physicists. The alien civilization's interpretation of the Grand Unified Theory was absorbed by the Immortal City and transformed into practical scientific research, which is why Salomon was qualified to speak so eloquently in front of Dr. Pym. However, Hank Pym was unwilling to listen to his conjectures; he only wanted to know if it was possible to enter the quantum realm in the form of a wave function at the 10⁻¹⁰ scale, and what changes would occur in quantum mechanics and quantum electrodynamics after entering.

"You need to be observed; the wave function will collapse. But none of us know what will happen after the collapse, like Schrödinger's cat." The sorcerer picked up his pen, brushed away the cookie crumbs, and tapped on a series of calculation formulas. "We can measure it through the entanglement effect."

"Hmph! Don't mix philosophy into physics; I want math and physics!" Hank Pym picked up a cookie, glanced at it, then looked at the packaging, hesitated for a moment, and finally popped it into his mouth. It was only four or five years past its expiration date anyway; as long as it wasn't moldy or damp, it was edible. He felt no remorse whatsoever about serving expired cookies to his guests. Salomon noticed Dr. Pym stop thinking and chewing, listening intently to something. He suddenly stood up, grabbed Salomon's arm, and tried to pull the arcane mage from his chair.

"Hurry up, hurry up!" Dr. Pym's hurried shooing of the guest puzzled Salomon, until the arcane mage heard an unfamiliar heartbeat slowly approaching, instead of passing by like other passersby. Hank Pym certainly knew who this person was; his ubiquitous little ants were the best scouts.

"Your daughter Hope?" The old man couldn't pull him up, but out of respect for the elderly, and out of concern that Hank Pym might break his spine in his haste, Salomon slowly stood up to avoid injuring the old man. But what he said next made Hank Pym pause. "There's another person," he said, "probably a man."

Hank Pym released Salomon's arm, turned around, and grabbed the pistol that was under the table.

"Are you serious? Your daughter isn't a high school student. Is it really necessary to shoot her boyfriend? I believe an adult wouldn't get pregnant unintentionally!"

Dr. Pym ignored Salomon. He disengaged the safety, cocked the pistol, and concealed it inside his jacket. As a World War II veteran, Hank Pym was no stranger to firearms, and his taste in pistols was similar to Salomon's—he used a .45 ACP Colt pistol, but his M1911A1 semi-automatic pistol remained reliable despite the passage of time.

"You're still planning to stay here?" Dr. Pym glared at the oblivious Salomon. But the arcane mage merely shrugged, gleefully indicating he didn't mind staying, forcing Dr. Pym to consider whether to use his first bullet on this troublemaker. "Get out!" he shouted, waving his hand forcefully towards the door. "I don't need help!"

"Who are you talking to?" When Dr. Pym turned around again, the nearly two-meter-tall giant who had been standing there had vanished. Hank Pym didn't have time to think. He glared at his former student, Darren Cross, who was following behind his daughter. This disgusting, vile, plague-ridden bastard who was obsessed with cracking the secrets of the Pym Particle was looking at him with a smile.

"Get out!" The old man, like an aging lion, tried to intimidate the rising star of his pride with his booming voice. He slowed down just as he was about to close the door, as if waiting for something. Sure enough, his daughter had already pressed down on the door. "Get out!" Hank Pym opened the door again, but his voice was noticeably weaker than before. He looked at his deceased student, "I won't tell you the secret of the Pym Particle! I don't have any Pym Particles here! Don't even think about it, you wolf!"

"Hank, I'd like to ask you to solve a few technical problems." Darren Cross shook his head helplessly. "Are you afraid that someone else will achieve your academic success? Is this your academic spirit? Don't you know what kind of bad reputation the Pym particle has in the academic world, that no one but you can create it? I'm almost finished with the Pym particle, Hank..."

Hank Pym closed the door contentedly, ignoring Darren Cross's clamor.

He had already seen his daughter, and she was clearly doing well. As for Darren Cross, that clown, Dr. Pym had no intention of bothering with him anymore. He believed that his past students could never replicate the Pym Particle, especially since he was now on a much more correct path. Salomon had inspired his research into the theory of the quantum realm; once the theory was complete, he could enter the quantum realm to find his wife. This was his obsession until now, and he wouldn't allow anyone to delay him on this matter, much less allow anyone to disturb the quantum realm before him.

He must save Janet, no matter the cost.
