Chapter 725 Safe Haven

Chapter 725 Safe Haven (First Update)

The blue and green rings encircling the arcane mage's arm meshed together, producing a crisp, metallic clanging sound, like brass gears clashing. When Salomon saw the timed spell activate automatically, he knew the meeting's time limit had expired. He intended to give Hela some time to consider his proposal; after all, it was a matter of great importance, and even Hela needed to carefully consider his conditions and plan.

"I will come again." He flicked his wrist, the sound of the two circular spells colliding against each other accelerating like the second hand of a wound-up clock. He quickly beckoned Pegasus back to his statue form, then slung the Holy Shield and Holy Lance over his back. "I hope I will get an answer on my next visit."

"How exactly do you intend to break free from Odin's seal? Even I can't do this," Hela asked with interest. "Did you find a loophole in Odin's seal?"

"Karmar-Taj... the secret society that was established not long after you were sealed away, the one I belong to, researched the Space Stone and the Time Stone." The sorcerer explained the basic principles of the spell to Hela. He understood something from Hela's eyes, and quickly clarified that he couldn't take her with him because the spell's effects wouldn't allow it. Even if Hela jumped into his arms, it wouldn't help.

This spell didn't actually break Odin's seal. Instead, it manipulated the recipient's location and time using the power of Akasha's records. To bypass Odin's blockade, the spell was quite complex—essentially manipulating a recipient who was previously at point A and time A, and is now at point B and time B, temporarily replacing point B and time B with point B and time A. Then, the recipient, now tagged with time A, is passively dragged to point A by Akasha's corrective abilities. When the spell ends, time A reverts to time B, returning to the state of point A and time B, achieving the effect of location transfer. Compared to breaking Odin's multiple layers of blockade on the planet, a more sophisticated spell affecting only an individual is much simpler. This is how the Venerable One pulled Salomon back during the Dark Elf invasion, completely avoiding spatial jumps and circumventing Odin's sealing spells.

Salomon failed to tamper with the Akasha's records during his first incursion into Helheim, thus risking detection by Odin this time. However, with the Sorcerer Supreme as his backer, Salomon believed Odin wouldn't notice a trace. The only drawback of this spell is that the interval between [Time A] and [Time B] cannot be too long; otherwise, even using the Time Stone could disrupt the continuity of spacetime.

This explanation made Hela a little angry; she had originally intended to promise Salomon that he would take her away.

She naturally knew what the Infinity Stones were; in fact, she even coveted them, given that Asgard was using the Space Stone to analyze the Bifrost at the time. When she was imprisoned, Odin had already hidden the Infinity Stones on Earth. Hela was completely unaware of this; she believed the Tesseract remained in Asgard, and therefore thought Kamar-Taj was some kind of arcane organization in Asgard.

"So you really were sent by Odin!"

Salomon tried to explain himself in response to Hela's accusations, but the spell wouldn't give him the time.

Frigga looked at the big guy who had suddenly appeared in the room with a complicated expression.

Salomon collapsed to his knees as soon as he was pulled back. Earth's gravity was slightly stronger than Helheim's, and he was still getting used to it. But he didn't deactivate his Stigmata; his powerful physique and the support of his power armor allowed him to stand up again. Frigga smelled blood. She noticed the wound on the golden power armor that had been slashed by "Night Sky." Knowing her daughter's power all too well, the Queen of Heaven naturally knew what that wound must look like.

"Take off your armor right now." She didn't stand on ceremony and directly told Salomon to disarm himself. Although Salomon was somewhat surprised by Frigga's appearance, he had no more doubts when he saw the Sorcerer Supreme. Salomon complied without hesitation. Frigga carefully examined his wounds before taking some herbs from her personal herb collection, chanting an incantation, rubbing them in, and then applying the glowing herbs to the wounds caused by "Night Sky."

The magical herbs slowly expelled the power of the "Night Sky," and inflammation began to appear on the wound, causing it to become congested and swollen.

Salomon took out the antibiotics from the armor and gave himself another injection.

“It should heal in about a week, or a few days if you use some other magic.” Frigga glanced at Salomon, whose face was pale but who still managed a polite smile, then at the Sorcerer Supreme. “I can’t agree on whether to support it right now. This gamble is too big, too risky,” she said. “Odin has had this kind of courage before, but there are more powerful forces in this universe, and we must face reality.”

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for both humanity and Asgard," the Sorcerer Supreme said expressionlessly. "A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. There will never be another like it."

"I understand, but this matter involves too many things, and I need to think it over carefully."

After Frigga left, Salomon raised his eyebrows at his teacher.

"You've told her everything," he asked. "Is that a good idea? The Aesir have given up on resistance. I don't want to call them cowards, but they've come to believe in fatalism, haven't they?"

"Don't be fooled by Odin's current appearance. He has fought against the Celestials before. Such an ambitious king will not sit idly by and wait to die. Do you really think that empty 'Valhalla' in Asgard is the real Valhalla? Odin will not expose the true forces of resistance in the open."

"Helheim...or rather," Hellmon shook his head, "I originally thought Hela's place was full of 'dead ashes,' until I saw the remains of those warriors and the Ironwood Forest. It must have been Odin's doing; Hela couldn't have brought so many dead and weapons into Helheim."

"That's right, the cunning Grimnir bet on both sides, and in his calculations, Asgard always comes out on top. However, he didn't foresee your birth, so I still have the upper hand." The Venerable smiled. "Let me see your wounds. If the witches knew you returned home covered in wounds after your trip, those two annoying women would storm into the temple and cause a huge scene! When do you plan to tell them the truth? Your mission and your responsibilities do not allow you to make mistakes."

Even though his height far surpassed that of the Sorcerer Supreme, and the power armor made him appear like a giant before him, he still obediently walked over. "I think they already know, Master. My homunculus has told her about it," he said softly. "Although Bayonetta doesn't quite agree with my actions, she's not some overly compassionate saint, but a ruthless witch. She understands the meaning behind what I did. It's just that we don't usually talk about these things; it's a safe haven, and nothing from the outside world matters there."

"You've always wanted to feel the warmth of family, and I'm very satisfied with what the witch has provided for you." The Venerable nodded, carefully examining the herbs Frigga had applied to her wound. "Go find Wu Guiyue; she has some alchemical potions in her storeroom that can accelerate healing. Combined with the self-healing ability of the Holy Mark, soon there will only be a scar left."
