Chapter 766 Casting a Spell to Meet the Enemy
Chapter 766 Casting a Spell to Meet the Enemy (Second Update)
Daisy Jensen felt her nasal passages were blocked, her eyes were burning, and a wave of grievances washed over her.
She felt like she was running around the base, completely helpless. Even Lincoln, the Inhuman doctor, had joined the rescue efforts for Agent Coulson, using his ability to replace the electromagnets that absorbed the shrapnel—Barbara was quite surprised when she saw him in his surgical gown, until he demonstrated how he could quickly build an electromagnet himself. This was a huge help, at least making room for the massive automated surgical robots. "Mike told me to tell you, 'Don't trust the automated surgical robots too much; use manual mode whenever possible,'" Daisy said regretfully. "My abilities aren't really suited for this, I'm sorry. If Fitz or Simmons were here…"
“Hey girl, I don’t have time for psychological counseling right now! But you have to understand, you were a hacker before you got superpowers. At least you’re more useful than Hunter. He can’t help with anything except moving medicine. I don’t even dare let him hold the hemostats.” Barbara tilted her head, mercilessly berating her ex-husband. Hunter opened his mouth to retort, but there was no room for him to speak in this situation. “Why don’t we check the software settings of the automated surgical machine while I’m stopping the bleeding? Mike and I both don’t really like this cold, lifeless thing.” Barbara said in as cheerful a tone as possible, “Luckily, some of Coulson’s ribs were replaced with alloy, otherwise his chest cavity would definitely be a mess of shrapnel. When he wakes up, he’ll definitely say he’s become a robot.”
Daisy smiled. "That sounds like a joke Coulson would make."
"If he received an artificial organ provided by those people, it would look even more like him."
Daisy gave her a questioning look. Barbara explained, "They provided mechanical organs, mechanical lungs and a mechanical heart made of vibranium, complete with bio-batteries. Don't worry, we absolutely won't do this unless it's the worst-case scenario; it's too radical."
Stephanie provided the bio-modified organs entirely out of good intentions; she had long since transcended Hydra's narrow perspective.
Salomon had already informed her of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s plans, including some of the future adventures that S.H.I.E.L.D. agents would be undertaking, so she was well aware of Agent Coulson's importance. A mechanically and bio-modified circulatory and respiratory system would help Coulson complete his future adventures, even if he were shot in the chest. If possible, she also wanted to support Agent Coulson in replacing his ribs with a stronger, more resilient alloy to withstand the deadly risks that would accompany his adventures.
"I suggest you follow my plan," she said to Mike, who was in charge of coordinating medical supplies. "It will be of great help to you. The medical staff in the Immortal City are quite skilled in organ transplant surgery; they are professionals with extensive experience in organ transplant surgeries."
"Thank you, but we have our own plans," Mike said, barely managing to remain polite.
Agent Coulson was taken to the operating room partly because this woman had brazenly opened fire, offering no explanation for why she wouldn't let anyone approach the glassy pattern behind her. He reviewed the surveillance footage repeatedly, knowing the primary responsibility lay with Skye, and thus he struggled to suppress his anxiety and anger stemming from Coulson's injury. However, he also believed Skye was unaware of the special nature of these people's bullets; otherwise, she wouldn't have used her superpowers and her usual methods to disarm them.
Stephanie shrugged. "At least get our medics involved in the surgeries," she said. "Your base is completely short-staffed."
"I agree," Mike readily agreed. "Besides, I don't want any more accidents to happen. Do you understand? I'll keep Skye in check and make sure no one interferes with your work, but you shouldn't meddle in other matters at the base either."
"We were called here to help prevent you from destroying the world through your own carelessness, not to serve S.H.I.E.L.D." Although she was wearing a helmet, Mike knew that the expression beneath it was one of disdainful mockery. "My sovereign cares about the entire world, not S.H.I.E.L.D. We don't care about the life or death of S.H.I.E.L.D., not at all."
Mike nodded expressionlessly. "That's for the best."

This planet wasn't on Kamar-Taj's star map, nor did it have Kamar-Taj's planetary defense system as a coordinate system, so manually mapping its coordinates would take some time. Even though he had started this task the moment he landed on the planet—Zero looked at the crystal ball in his hand and shook his head. "The only result is the detection of veils," Zero said, "but not many. This planet is doomed."—The task was still not fully completed.
The sandstorm and that monster won't give him that time.
With the aid of magic, Salomon led the Sorority and the Royal Guard forward at an astonishing speed.
"Right here, my magic is ready." He suddenly stopped, and the Sisterhood immediately and expertly formed a defensive formation to protect him as he cast his spell. Salomon spread his arms, pointing to the desert, and loudly chanted ancient verses. Immediately, a whirlwind sparkling with sparks formed in the sand. A few seconds later, the whirlwind began to expand, with scorching flames streaming out from it. In the blink of an eye, the sandstorm, which had been only about a person's height, had grown into a colossal structure tens of meters high, carrying molten sand. Bright flames shot up from the ground and into the sky, illuminating the once dark desert as if it were daytime.
High-temperature warning runes flashed on everyone's helmet displays. Even though they were some distance from the storm, the force-feedback power armor still felt the intense heat. If someone were to touch the armor's surface with their bare hands, they would be as hot as touching the shell of a car that had been baking in the sun all day on the hottest part of summer.
The temperature control system was operating at full capacity, which prevented them from becoming dehydrated like they would if they were locked in a car without ventilation.
Salomon directed the whirlwind in a certain direction, commanding the gale and flames to draw upon the power of the spiritual veins and grow stronger on their own.
This wasn't the first time he'd stopped to cast a spell. On the horizon, within the reach of ordinary eyes, another bright whirlwind of fire continued its advance. The intense, luminous power grew larger and higher, leaving a vast trail of melting across the desert. As the molten sand cooled, a shimmering glass path appeared in the desert, sparkling in the azure moonlight.
To combat the impending massive storm, he had already cast this powerful magic five times, attempting to use tornadoes with different wind directions to counter the stumbling sandstorm, and to kill the tiny parasites contained within the sandstorm with high temperatures and flames.
So far, that creature probably hasn't realized that the planet has become incredibly lively.
Salomon believed that if the monster knew there was so much biomass on the planet, it would pounce without hesitation after centuries of hunger. The fire hurricane was both a means of eliminating it and a challenge to it. That fool would surely think a fire-wielding Inhuman had come to this world. For the Hive, there was no greater temptation.
He would kill it here, that slimy, tentacle-like creature, that disgusting parasite. The arcane mage drew his longsword, bright flames engulfing its blade. Salomon sensed the creature's surprise; he knew the Hive had accepted the challenge.
On the horizon, a black desert giant strode in.
