Chapter 117 The Gift

Kim Minjung stuffed the last bite of seaweed rice roll into her mouth, chewed for a while before swallowing, and then picked up the barley tea and gulped down half a cup.

"Oppa, will you take me to the company or will you take me, unnie?"

"I'll take you there. Go change your clothes first."

"Yes." Kim Jung jumped off the chair and ran into his room. Before closing the door, he peeked out and waved to Choi Sulli. "Unnie, are you going back or waiting for me at home?"

"I'm not sure. If you come back late, I'll head back first." Choi Sulli rested her chin on her hand and winked at her.

"Yes, I understand."

The bedroom door closed gently.

Only the two of them remained in the living room. Choi Sulli looked at Jiang Yan with a hint of excitement, "Did you hear that? She just said she was waiting for me to come home."

"So?" Jiang Yan feigned a puzzled expression.

"So she now accepts that I'm a part of this family, Pab."

"Really? Then I'll check with Minjung for you later."

Choi Sulli noticed the mischievous grin on his face, pointed at him, and snorted, "Hmph, I'm not talking to you anymore, you're just teasing me again."

As she spoke, Choi Sulli crossed her legs and nestled into the sofa. She picked up the remote control from the coffee table and turned on the TV, saying as she changed the channel, "Go on, go on. Drive carefully on the way. I'll catch up on the variety shows I've missed recently."

Jiang Yan smiled and approached her, bending down to rub his nose against her cheek twice, then walked to the entrance to change his shoes before she could react.

At this moment, Jin Zheng also came out of the room, having changed into a clean set of sportswear.

She waved to Choi Sulli and then went to change her shoes.

The two left the house one after the other. When they reached the corner on the fourth floor, Kim Minchan suddenly spoke up: "Oppa."

"Unnie's makeup looks so good today, especially at the train station."

Jiang Yan paused slightly, glancing sideways at Jin Zheng, who was walking with his head down, his face full of envy.

"Bring a gift? What gift?"

"I don't know, she said she'd give it to me when she got to the company." Kim Min-jung tilted her head and thought for a moment, then added, "She also said she had something for Oppa."

Kim Min-jeong went through Kang Yeon's recent situation in his mind and felt that what he said made sense; the other party really hadn't had time lately.

So he stopped dwelling on that point and continued looking out the window.

The car quickly arrived at the SM building. Jiang Yan parked the car at the side door and then turned off the engine.

Kim Min-jung unbuckled her seatbelt and jumped out of the car. As soon as she stood up, she waved towards the door: "Jimin unnie!"

Jiang Yan followed her gaze.

Liu Zhimin stood under the streetlight next to the side gate, still wearing her school uniform.

She looked over when she heard the voice, smiled at Jin Zheng, and then walked to the passenger window and bowed: "Good evening, Jiang Yan oppa."

Jiang Yan waved and returned a smile, "Good evening, Jimin. Have you been waiting here for Min-jung?"

"Yes, Minjung told me the time she arrived; she just took leave."

Liu Zhimin picked up the small paper bag in her hand and handed it to Jiang Yan with both hands, "Oppa, this is for you."

Jiang Yan took the paper bag, but his gaze lingered on her hands. It wasn't that he was looking randomly; Liu Zhimin's hands were simply too eye-catching.

Liu Zhimin didn't notice his gaze. She lowered her head slightly and said slowly, "Last time, Oppa took me home and brought me such delicious food. I've been wanting to find a chance to thank Oppa. This is what my unnie taught me to make. I hope Oppa won't mind."

Kim Min-jung craned her neck to peek into the paper bag, then immediately stretched out her little hand: "Unnie, where's mine?"

Liu Zhimin blushed slightly at Jin Zheng's shout and quickly took out a small pink paper bag from her backpack and handed it over.

"Of course you're here, how could I forget Minjung?"

Jin took the paper bag, opened it, and found a box of cookies that were slightly more regular in shape, with a few of them decorated with smiley faces drawn on them with chocolate sauce.

She picked up a piece, took a bite, and her eyes immediately narrowed.

"It's delicious, unnie, your cooking is amazing."

Liu Zhimin smiled shyly, but her gaze unconsciously drifted to the paper bag in Jiang Yan's hand, as if waiting for his evaluation.

Jiang Yan looked down at the box of crooked cookies. Some had burnt edges, and some were of different sizes, but each cookie was neatly arranged in the box, clearly showing that it had been carefully prepared.

He took out a piece, tasted it, and nodded: "It's delicious, thank you Zhimin."

"You're welcome." Liu Zhimin chuckled and scratched her head, then took out a small envelope from her backpack. "Oppa, and this too, my unnie asked me to bring it to you."

Jiang Yan took the envelope and opened it. Inside was a handwritten thank-you card. He quickly glanced at it and read that it thanked him for taking Liu Zhimin home that night and for taking care of her usually.

Jiang Yan carefully folded the card and put it back in the envelope. "Jimin, you don't need to go to so much trouble in the future. You and Chan are friends, and I'll help you whenever I can."

"Yes, thank you, Oppa." Yoo Jimin nodded vigorously, her dimples appearing and disappearing.

Jin Zheng, who was standing nearby, saw the interaction between the two and unconsciously increased the force with which he bit into the cookie.

She stuffed the remaining half of the cookie into her mouth and mumbled, "Oppa, aren't you going back to be with Unnie?"

Jiang Yan glanced at her sideways. The latter was nonchalantly licking the cookie crumbs off her fingers, but her eyes were darting around.

Upon hearing this, Yoo Jimin quickly bowed slightly and said, "Oppa has something to attend to, so Minjung and I are going to practice."

"Go ahead, you two." Jiang Yanchong and the other waved, watching Jin grab Liu Zhimin's wrist and run into the side door. The two girls' figures quickly disappeared behind the glass door.

He got back into the car, placed the cookies Liu Zhimin had given him on the passenger seat, and started the engine.

Lin Xiaolu floated over from the back row, propped her chin on her hand, and looked at him: "Tsk tsk tsk, Jiang Yan oppa, your popularity is much higher than I imagined."
