Song Chen glanced at Li Qingcang, then at Zhou Wangyue.

Neither of them looked happy, but their eyes conveyed the same message: now that they had come this far, there was no way they wouldn't go in.

"Let's go, let's hear what they really want."

Song Chen took the lead and walked towards the open door, with the other two following behind.

A few steps later, he stepped through the door.

The white light engulfed his vision, but there was no stinging sensation. His feet landed firmly, and he found himself standing in a corridor.

Li Qingcang and Zhou Wangyue followed closely behind. The sound of their footsteps echoed through the space, only to be quickly absorbed by the walls without a sound.

The corridor is not long, about twenty meters.

The wall is made of a semi-transparent material with very faint light patterns flowing across its surface, like liquid starlight sealed within a glass interlayer.

"Look at the wall," Zhou Wangyue suddenly said.

Song Chen had already seen it; the image was appearing on the wall to the left.

At first, it was a chaotic scene, with gray-black air swirling on the walls.

Then a planet emerged from the chaos, blue, covered with vast oceans, its land still barren rocks, devoid of any sign of life.

Li Qingcang looked at the images and asked, "This is Earth. How long ago was this?"

No one answered, but the image itself provided the answer.

A line of text appeared on the wall, in standard Da Xia script, as if it had been translated in real time: "About four billion years ago, Blue Star was formed."

The scene shifts rapidly, showing the first single-celled organisms appearing in the ocean, followed by multicellular organisms, and then the Cambrian explosion of life.

Trilobites, Anomalocaris, ancient fish—each stage flashed rapidly across the wall.

Song Chen involuntarily took a step forward. He saw fish crawling onto land, ferns covering the continent, and giant insects flying in the oxygen-rich sky.

Then the scene shifts, and dinosaurs appear.

"They recorded all of this too?" Li Qingcang's voice was filled with disbelief.

"They've been watching," Song Chen said.

As soon as he finished speaking, the scene suddenly switched to a completely different one.

A meteorite is falling into the atmosphere, trailing a long, fiery tail, piercing through the clouds, and crashing into a shallow sea.

After the meteorite shattered, countless tiny golden specks of light escaped from the fragments, merging into the seawater, the air, and being absorbed by plants and inhaled by animals.

Song Chen's pupils contracted. This meteorite looked very similar to the one from fifty-one years ago, but the location where it crashed was completely different, and the vegetation and landforms in the picture were clearly not modern.

Time markers appeared on the wall.

"Sixty-five million years ago, the Source Spirit Star Stone was deployed, targeting the Dinosaur Civilization. Civilization level assessment: 0.5, meeting the deployment criteria."

As the scene progresses, the dinosaurs that have absorbed psionic energy begin to change, becoming larger, with harder scales, and some even developing special psionic abilities.

The evolution of dinosaurs was accelerated to an unbelievable degree, reaching a level that Song Chen could not ignore in just a few hundred years.

But then, the scene changed.

Instead of pushing their way upwards, the dinosaurs began to fight each other with an intensity far exceeding that of natural competition.

In the scene, two giant dinosaurs are spewing beams of psionic energy at each other, setting the forest ablaze, tearing the earth apart, and covering the sky with dust.

Then temperatures plummeted, ice sheets advanced from the poles, and the ecosystem collapsed.

"Is this how the Ice Age came about?" Zhou Wangyue, who had been silent all along, finally spoke up.

Ice and snow covered the entire planet, and the last mutated dinosaur fell on the ice field.

A line of text appeared on the wall: "Investment failed, the target civilization failed to break through to level one, self-destructed, the energy of the Source Spirit Star Stone was exhausted, and the spiritual energy regressed to zero."

The corridor remained quiet for a long time.

"Is this how the dinosaur civilization perished?" Li Qingcang exhaled.

"We always thought the meteorite wiped out the dinosaurs, but it turns out that the meteorite came to help them."

Song Chen looked at the frozen blue planet and said calmly, "It was indeed an attempt to help, but the result was that we helped each other to death."

The scene continues to shift, depicting the rise of mammals, the emergence of primates, and the emergence of humans from the African savanna, along with tools, fire, language, writing, cities, and the Industrial Revolution…

On the walls on both sides of the corridor, human civilization rapidly unfolds after billions of years of blankness, faster and denser, like images that have been fast-forwarded.

Until it stopped fifty-one years ago, a meteorite was falling into the atmosphere.

Song Chen recognized the meteorite, not from the image, but from everything that happened afterward.

As the scene ends, the corridor also comes to a close.

The light on the wall slowly dimmed, returning to a translucent silvery-white color.

The three stood in front of a circular archway, which opened automatically, letting out soft, warm light.

The hall is circular, about fifty meters in diameter, with a very high dome. Looking up, you can see a simulated starry sky slowly rotating.

A ball of light and shadow, about three meters high, floated in the very center. It had a human-shaped outline but no facial features or physical form; it was like a beam of light shaped into a human form.

Welcome.

The light and shadow opened up, and the sound was exactly the same as what was heard outside—calm and ancient.

Song Chen walked in, with Li Qingcang and Zhou Wangyue standing on his left and right respectively.

The three stopped five meters in front of the light and shadow, simultaneously examining the space and the presence before them.

"Let me introduce myself," the light and shadow flickered slightly as it spoke.

"I am the Civilization Assessment and Investment Envoy dispatched by the Cangxing Alliance to Blue Star, number 3791. You can call me Dawn."

"You can think of me as a program, a digital life with pre-set goals and the ability to make judgments."

"A program that has lived for 600 million years?" Li Qingcang asked.

"For digital life, time is merely the consumption of storage space," Chenxi said calmly.

"My core mission is singular: to search for promising civilizations in the universe, assess their level, and, when conditions are met, release Source Spirit Star Stones to guide them to leap to a higher level."

"Cangxing Alliance." Song Chen chewed on the name.

"Outside you were saying it was the Cangxing Civilization, but now you're saying it's an alliance. Is it a civilization or an alliance?"

"The Cangxing Civilization is usually referred to as the Cangxing Alliance," Chenxi explained.

"The alliance is composed of multiple races, and Cangxing is the home planet of the core race. In the universe, the two can be used interchangeably. You can call me the investment envoy if you want, I don't mind."
