Chapter 102 Fibel's Plan
Chapter 102 Fibel's Plan
"But I only just found out that you voted for Isabella."
Of course, Li Ang could not admit that he and Helena had reached some kind of agreement, especially since the suspicion against her had not been cleared.
Fibel looked at him. "You won't admit it?"
So she continued, "You and Charlotte called her out, and when you came back, your eyes changed. During the discussion, you exchanged glances twice."
"Although you hid it well, you couldn't fool me. Especially after everyone voted, Helena had a noticeable surprised reaction."
"She clearly doesn't know anyone in this game, and even witnessed us reaching an agreement, so why is she surprised by the vote? Someone's vote must have exceeded her expectations."
"That person can only be you or Charlotte. Considering your reactions when the other person first appeared, the truth is quite obvious."
"You and she made some kind of deal. Helena will tell you the ticket information, and in exchange, you agreed to her demands."
She spoke slowly, but every word seemed to have been rehearsed in her mind several times before she uttered it.
Even Lord couldn't help but marvel inwardly, "Is this the power of a high-sequence reasoning detective?"
Throughout the entire game, there are only four detectives: Eloi, Charlotte, Caltacia, and Faibel.
He considers himself half of one.
Apart from Caltasia, the other three have all demonstrated remarkable reasoning skills, especially Fibel, whose ability to observe micro-expressions is truly masterful.
Li Ang had already considered his visual communication with Helena to be quite discreet, but he didn't expect that she would still be able to see through it.
But so what?
Just because he can see it doesn't mean he has to admit it; at least, he won't admit it now.
"I don't know what you're talking about. I just want to discuss the next steps with you and see who the witch is most likely to be," Li Ang said calmly.
"Yes." Fibel nodded. "The witch can only be one of five people: Boudica, Isabella, Caltasia, Lilith, and Emily."
"And you?" Li Ang asked, looking at her.
"I can't be a witch." Fibel's tone was completely flat. "I don't have the ability to kill. My ability is to shut someone up. In this game, a witch wouldn't want such a useless skill."
"I don't believe you," Li Ang replied succinctly and directly. "There's no evidence. You have no evidence to prove you're not a witch."
Fibel looked at him, seemingly having already guessed that the man would say this, and continued speaking.
"You don't need to trust me. You just need to plan everyone's actions for tonight. When the second night ends, the witch will surface."
She took a folded piece of paper from her pocket, unfolded it, and handed it to him. The paper was covered with tiny, densely written characters.
Leon glanced down at Lilith examining Emily. Boudica was tracking Isabella. Isabella would verify Fibel's truth or falsehood during tomorrow's speech.
There was even a specific order for each person's speech, so it was all arranged very clearly.
"Is this your plan?" Li Ang looked up.
"Yes," Fibel nodded. "Boudica must follow Isabella on the second night. Lilith must investigate Emily. Only by ensuring the actions of these two can we find the witch as likely as possible. Then, during the voting phase, Isabella can clear me of suspicion."
After reading it, Li Ang folded the paper, didn't return it to her, and put it in his pocket.
The plan was almost identical to the one in his mind, except that Feuerbel had written down all the details, even arranging who would speak first and who would speak last during the voting stage.
"I know you don't trust me," Fibel continued, "but there's nothing wrong with my plan. You can modify it according to your own ideas, as long as the arrangements for Lilith and Boudica remain unchanged."
"I cannot guarantee you anything. Both of them could die. Do you understand what I mean?"
Fibel nodded. "I know. But at least we can rule out about 50% of the possibilities, right?"
She walked to the door, opened it, and stepped aside. "Get out. You've been here too long."
"If it turns out you're not a witch tomorrow, I'll trust you."
Fiebel remained silent, and Leon strode out of the cell.
Isabella was sitting alone at a round table in the restaurant. When she saw Li Ang walk in, she said irritably, "
What? You think I'm a witch too?
"I'm just reasonably suspicious of everyone."
"Hmph! People who have been cleared of suspicion always speak with such confidence." Isabella snorted, her face full of disdain.
"I would like to ask you to use your abilities on Fibel during tomorrow's discussion session."
"Why her?" Isabella frowned.
"Because this way you can determine whether the other person is a witch or not."
Isabella looked up. "You trust me?"
She couldn't understand why he would trust her now, when she had just argued with him not long ago and even doubted him.
What an unpredictable man.
"I don't trust you. But if you lie, it's easier to be exposed, isn't it? So I'm more inclined to believe that what you're saying is true."
Isabella nodded, agreeing to Li Ang's request. Anyway, she didn't know who the ability would be used on, and following this man's plan was better than just finding someone to use it on herself.
Then Li Ang went to find Elena, who was in her cell with her golden twin ponytails hanging down her chest. She was sitting on a haystack with her brows furrowed.
Seeing Li Ang walk in, she quickly stood up. "Mr. Li Ang!"
"How's it going? Have you found someone you can trust?"
"Well..." Elena scratched her head sheepishly, "Actually, I only found Ms. Eloi. I made an appointment with her, and I will send you a message tonight."
"Then do me a favor: tonight, pass on a message to everyone."
Elena's eyes lit up. "What are you spreading?"
"Li Ang's request. Everyone stay put when the vote is tomorrow."
"Just this one sentence?" Elena was a little confused.
"right."
Li Ang didn't explain why, and Elena didn't ask either; she just nodded seriously.
"I see."
Afterwards, Li Ang went to see Charlotte.
Charlotte was also in her own cell. The seeping walls gleamed dimly in the gray-blue light, the water stains in the corners had widened since morning, and the edges of the haystacks had been soaked to a dark brown.
She stood there, looking quite distressed, because if the water continued to seep in like this, she probably wouldn't even have a place to sleep for the night.
