Chapter 107 A Witch's Ending
Charlotte felt dizzy and almost couldn't stand up straight.
Li Ang looked at her face, and the blush spread from the tips of her ears to her cheeks.
It can only be said that even though the detective girl has amnesia, she still subconsciously sees herself as a pet.
So Li Ang reached out and patted the other person's head without any hesitation.
Charlotte's body stiffened for a moment, then slowly softened. She didn't flinch, but simply stood there, letting the man's large hand remain on her head.
"Let's go." Li Ang withdrew his hand, turned around and continued walking forward. "There's still time before dinner, let's go find Lilith and Emily and talk about tonight's arrangements."
Charlotte followed behind him, her steps lighter than before. "Are you sure you want to do what Fibel plans?"
I simply cannot believe her.
"We believe in logic, not her as a person," Li Ang's voice came from the front. "Her plan is perfectly reasonable."
.
"And if she were a witch, she wouldn't put her name at the top of the voting list. She would let others speak first, then follow behind, steering the tide in the direction she wanted."
"She didn't. She put everyone else first and herself last. That's not how a witch does it."
"What if she's betting that you'll think that way?"
"Then let's gamble." Li Ang stopped, turned around, and looked at Charlotte. "In this game, everyone is gambling. I bet that Fibel isn't a witch, Boudica bets she won't die, and Lilith bets she'll live tonight until the end of the world."
"No one's judgment is 100% certain." He paused. "But as long as the majority bets correctly, we can win."
Charlotte looked at him, and for some reason, that voice echoed in her mind—"Wouldn't dying once be enough?"
"But I admit she's right. If I really die, you will indeed need an assistant," Charlotte suddenly said.
"Don't worry. I won't let you die. I promise you," Li Ang sincerely assured him.
From any perspective, Charlotte is the most important person to him.
Of course, this doesn't include feelings of attraction. After all, he wouldn't dare harbor such thoughts before figuring out the other person's true identity.
Even if he figured it out, given this woman's personality, he would politely decline. He would at least need to elevate his own status.
What's with calling me Pochi, a grown man?
"Is that so?" Charlotte clearly misunderstood Leon's meaning; in fact, any normal person would have misunderstood.
"You rascal... I see... "
'
Seeing Charlotte's face begin to flush again, Li Ang interrupted her reverie.
"So, don't call her 'blue-haired idiot' next time."
Upon hearing this man speak up for Sherry again, Charlotte's expression instantly returned to normal; she could change her expression much faster than anyone else.
"No. I was just careless this time, I will never fall for her tricks again."
"Actually, you're just overthinking it."
"Am I just overthinking it?" Charlotte's voice rose, her beautiful blue eyes widening. "She spoke up while I was eating, saying something about waiting for me to leave. I think she just wants me to die sooner!"
Li Ang sighed, "It's not like you've only known her for a short time."
"But for me right now, I've only known her for two days, so I think she definitely did it on purpose." Charlotte's tone was incredibly certain. "She knew I wouldn't speak while eating, so she chose that moment."
"You used to say she was an idiot."
"That was before." Charlotte crossed her arms, letting her hair fall. "Now she's a blue fox."
Li Ang glanced at her and decided to stop arguing. Clearly, the detective had already concluded that Sherry was pretending to be stupid, and he could only say that she was overthinking it.
He turned and continued walking forward, with Charlotte following behind him, her pace quickening slightly.
The two found Lilith's cell, where she was with Emily, and even Eloi was there.
Li Ang gave a brief explanation and then left.
Dinner began in silence and ended in silence.
The prison guards served less food than yesterday, but it was still enough to fill everyone's stomachs. If you didn't care that the food was taken from other people's bodies, it was quite delicious.
At least that's how Li Ang sees it. As for the others, they'll need some time to adjust.
Helena did not appear.
According to the other party, she could only be with everyone during the speaking and voting sessions; the rest of the time she had to stay in her small room, and even her dinner was delivered by the prison guards.
At this moment, the jailer stood at the door and after a while spoke, "Dinner is over. Please return to your cells. The second night is about to begin."
Everyone stood up. Some walked quickly, while others walked slowly toward the door with their heads down.
As Shirley passed by Li Ang, she patted him on the shoulder and said in a lighthearted tone, "See you tomorrow, Mr. Li Ang."
She didn't seem worried at all about the possibility of being killed tonight.
Lilith and Emily walked out side by side, their hands clasped together. Boudica walked beside Caltacia; the two didn't speak, but their pace was remarkably synchronized. Isabella brought up the rear, pausing briefly as she passed Leon.
"Are you going to make your move tonight?" Her voice was very low, so low that only the two of them could hear it.
She was referring to Li Ang's illusory witch identity card, which also possessed the ability to act at night.
"It depends," Li Ang gave an ambiguous answer.
Isabella glanced at him but didn't show any concern, after all, the two of them had been arguing that morning. She simply nodded, opened the door, and went out.
After the two finished talking, Fibel came over again and whispered the same thing.
"If I were you, I would choose to kill someone tonight."
At that moment, Li Ang even suspected that Fibel had the ability to read minds.
However, he maintained his composure and said, "I'll consider it."
Fibel didn't try to persuade her any further, and simply left.
After returning to his cell, Li Ang leaned against the wall and closed his eyes to rest.
In the early hours of the morning, most of the kerosene lamps in the corridor had gone out, leaving only two or three at the far end still lit.
A wriggling sound came from the depths of the corridor. The light of the kerosene lamp dimmed briefly as the footsteps approached, then brightened again.
Immediately, the jailer appeared in front of his cell door. Then the cell door opened on its own.
"Now it's time for the witch's operation. You are now the witch and have the authority to act at night."
"What if I don't choose to kill?" Li Ang asked.
"Yes. You will share the same fate as her." The jailer gave a completely unexpected answer.
