The detective is dead, I did it.

Chapter 113 My Dear Detective

Chapter 113 My Dear Detective

Boudica sighed, her gaze fixed in a certain direction. "If only Bridget and the others were still alive." Her voice was tinged with melancholy. "We won, but they're still dead. What kind of victory is this?"

"They're still alive." Li Ang shook his head, giving an unexpected answer. "No one who dies in this game will actually die on the spot. Everyone will be accounted for together when the game ends."

He paused, then added, "That means Bridget, Lilith, and Aloy—they will all be resurrected."

Boudica jerked her head up, her pupils contracting slightly. "What did you say?"

"Aloy committed suicide," Leon continued. "She asked me to kill her."

Fibel paused slightly, as if deep in thought.

That night, after being told by the jailer that he would share the same fate as the witch, Li Ang realized that he had to do something.

Therefore, he sought out Eloi and, without hiding anything, told her everything about his condition, his speculations, his suspicions about Emily, and his entire plan.

He needed her cooperation, not just in life, but in death.

Eloi didn't think for long.

She took off her glasses and placed them on the haystack, saying, "Let's go then."

There were no unnecessary questions, no fear of death, and not even a mention of what to do if Li Ang guessed wrong.

She simply folded her glasses, unbuttoned her collar to reveal the fair skin below her collarbone that was not covered by anything, and then closed her eyes.

For some reason, she seemed to trust the man in front of her a lot, even though they hadn't really talked much.

Leon acted swiftly. The resistance as the blade pierced flesh was less than he had anticipated; Eloi fell backward without any struggle, not even a erratic breath.

After killing Aloy, his identity card changed.

From the illusory witch to the witch, and now to the counterfeit witch.

The initial identity of the illusory witch was one that Rosalind forced upon him; later, because he didn't take any action, he became a real witch; now, because he actively killed people like a witch, he has become a fake witch.

Li Ang vaguely felt that there was something hidden behind this identity card that he hadn't yet uncovered, but there was no time to explore it now.

He only knew one thing: although his identity card had been changed to a fake witch, and he had the same ability to move at night as the witch, he still belonged to the Arbitrators' camp.

The game will continue because of his existence after the real witch is voted out and executed. In other words, he only needs to eliminate both himself and the witch to win the game.

That's why he chose to let everyone vote for himself and Caltacia during the voting process.

He just didn't expect Emily to reveal herself so quickly; she secretly voted for him in the second round, wanting to send him out first.

But she didn't expect that Helena had already been won over by him.

Helena lied about the voting information in front of Emily. Seeing that the plan was doomed to fail, Emily decisively ended the game to avoid being taken away by the duelist ability of Caltacia.

She would rather have a draw than suffer a complete defeat.

Just then, Shirley suddenly appeared from behind.

"Bridget has been resurrected. Can I be her assistant? Anyway, there are more people now, so why don't you recruit a few more?"

""

Li Ang wanted to reply that no detective would voluntarily become another detective's assistant, but when he thought about his relationship with Charlotte, he swallowed his words back.

"Let's talk about it after you remember your own things," he replied with a smile.

"Understood," Shirley extended her fair hand and gave a somewhat awkward salute. "So, we've won now, right?"

"We won." Li Ang nodded.

After hearing this, Shirley raised both hands above her head, spun around in place, and exclaimed, "Yay! Can we go out now? I'm hungry!"

Boudica watched her spin around in place, and the corner of her mouth twitched slightly. Fibel frowned, but she said nothing.

"Didn't you just finish breakfast?" Isabella retorted irritably.

"But the portion size is too small! I'm not full at all."

"Huh!? Why would an elegant lady eat so much?" Isabella stared at her wide-eyed.

Watching the argument between the people in front of him, Li Ang turned and walked towards the end of the corridor.

Someone called his name from behind, but he didn't stop. Fibel looked at his back and was about to speak when Caltacia stopped him.

"He's probably going to see Charlotte, so let's not disturb them."

It's obvious to anyone with eyes that Li Ang and Charlotte's relationship is quite unusual. At the very least, they must have known each other before getting involved in this game, and Li Ang's reaction to her perfectly proves this point.

Leon turned the corner of the corridor and stopped in front of Charlotte's cell.

The iron gate was ajar, and the afternoon sun shone through the cracks, casting a bright band of light on the ground.

He pushed open the door and went inside.

There was a person sitting in the cell.

Her long white hair was loose over her shoulders, and the dark red bloodstain below the collar of her trench coat was still there, but her complexion had regained its color, and her lips were no longer the pale white of the dead.

She held an old-fashioned flintlock pistol in her hand. The bronze barrel gleamed with a dull luster in the sunlight, and the muzzle was pointed at the doorway, at him.

Li Ang suddenly stopped.

He stared at the muzzle of the gun, then at the pair of blue eyes behind it, and remained silent for a moment. He raised his hands in a standard French military salute.

He felt a sense of déjà vu about this scene. It was where he and she first met.

Charlotte looked at him, her sapphire-like eyes slowly scanning him from bottom to top, and then the corners of her mouth slowly curved into a smile.

Li Ang recognized that smile—not the kind of smile that Jon H. Charlotte gave with adoration and dependence, but rather the kind of smile that Charlotte Holmes gave, a smile that could send chills down your spine.

"You're finally back." Her voice wasn't loud, but each word seemed to be squeezed out from between her teeth, carrying a deep, yet still audible, distortion. "My dear detective. Your assistant has been waiting for quite some time."

"So you remembered everything?" Li Ang asked, somewhat surprised.

He thought everyone's memories would only return after the game ended, but Charlotte actually recovered hers before them.

Could it be related to the other party's ability to resurrect the dead?

Upon realizing this, Li Ang quickly used his ability to take a look.

Charlotte Holmes

Even the name has changed.

In response to Li Ang's question, Charlotte slowly stood up from the haystack, a smile curving her lips—a smile he knew all too well.

"Yes. I remember everything. Including when you made me your assistant." She took a step forward, the gun still pointed at her. "Including when you patted my head like a pet."

She walked up to him and pressed the gun against his chest. The pressure wasn't strong, but she could feel the rhythm of his heartbeat.

"Tell me, how should I punish you, Pochi?"
