Dragon Raja: Lu Mingfei Returns from EVA
052 Positron Cannon
Lu Mingfei stood on a golden hexagonal light screen several tens of centimeters in diameter, suspended in mid-air amidst the raging wind and rain. He slowly raised his hands, his fingers slightly parted. A piercing high-frequency shriek filled the air, and more than a dozen geometric light shields of varying sizes leaped and appeared around him. They lined up one after another, rotating and forming a complex array of geometric lenses in the air. Blinding high-frequency energy converged wildly in the innermost lens, instantly vaporizing raindrops that approached the array.
(Similar to this structure)
He was imitating the AT stance of the Fifth Apostle, the Thunder Angel. Even without the Thunder Angel's energy core, he was going to use this mortal body to forcibly squeeze out a similar high-energy fusion.
"700 meters straight ahead! Depth 30! Still accelerating!" Ye Sheng reported the location to Lu Mingfei.
Aki and Gunaya pushed the last two alchemical torpedoes into the launch tubes.
"Release!" The second officer slammed down the red handle on the launch pad.
The last two alchemical torpedoes crashed into the churning black river water, leaving faint white trails on the surface as they hurtled away into the waves.
"Three hundred meters!"
Two bursts of fire erupted underwater, the shockwave tearing a gash in the river's surface. The dragon servant, who had been gathering its strength, was abruptly disrupted by the impact. The river surged violently, and the colossal beast, accompanied by a ten-meter-high wall of water, burst forth, its dark golden vertical pupils burning with rage. Like a derailed high-speed train, it skimmed across the river and crashed straight into the Moniahe.
"Hold on tight!" First mate Grayson used all his strength to lock the steering wheel with the chain, then collapsed onto the control panel.
Those on deck clung to anything stable nearby. Aki, dragging the exhausted Ye Sheng, huddled behind the massive metal winch. She pulled over a safety rope and fastened their belts together. "Hold on tight! Don't let go!" she shouted, gripping Ye Sheng's shoulders. "The rescue helicopter will be here soon!"
Professor Mans, supported by Selma, stood to Lu Mingfei's left. He stared at the approaching wall of water and began chanting dragon script.
Zero moved to Lu Mingfei's right, gripping the railing and silently watching the colossal beast with its gaping maw. Out of the corner of her eye, she glanced at Professor Mance, who was poised to pounce, her pupils flashing with a dazzling golden light.
"Fifty meters!"
With his eyes half-closed, Lu Mingfei faced the terrifying power that could melt even mountains, and the long countdown to the positron cannon sniping the Fifth Apostle flashed through his mind.
"I never imagined that I would become the very thing I feared most."
Lu Mingfei clasped his hands together, and the lens in front of him suddenly contracted inward.
The beam of light passed through the geometric lens continuously, its volume increasing dramatically with each penetration. By the time it broke through the final AT field, it had transformed into a terrifying beam of light two meters in diameter.
A dazzling beam of light evaporated along the river surface, creating a deep ravine that instantly pierced through a water wall more than ten meters thick, penetrating the dragon servant hidden behind the giant wave.
But the quantity of nature is inexhaustible.
The gap that had been evaporated was filled by the backflow of river water from both sides in a fraction of a second. The remaining waves, no longer under the control of the dragon servants, mixed with debris and carrying the kinetic energy to tear everything apart, crashed heavily onto the Moniah.
Countless broken dragon scales, riverbed silt, broken steel cables from the Moniach, flying nails, and shards of glass were all swept up in the overwhelming turbulence and sprayed towards the people on deck.
Words of Power: A Dustless Land.
Mans unleashed his final full-force attack, and the defensive wall covered Lu Mingfei and Zero.
Words of Power: A Dustless Land.
Zero's pupils suddenly lit up, and syllables that were exactly the same as Mans's flowed from between her teeth. The second layer of dust-free space silently unfolded against Lu Mingfei.
"Boom!"
The curtain of water instantly obscured all vision, and the massive flow caused the Moniach to tilt violently. Sharp fragments of bronze scraped against the edge of the area with a piercing shriek before being forcibly deflected.
After a long few seconds, the wave, carrying the remains of the dragon servant, crashed over the wrecked ship and poured down like a torrential downpour.
In mid-air, the hexagonal light panel supporting Lu Mingfei instantly turned into light dust and dissipated. The extreme exhaustion instantly drained the last bit of strength from Lu Mingfei's body, and the world before his eyes was quickly swallowed by darkness. He fell backward like a fallen leaf.
Zero stretched out her arms, and the boy's heavy body slammed into her embrace. The huge impact caused Zero's body to lean back slightly, but her feet, which were standing in the puddles, remained motionless.
Ling knelt on the flooded deck, gently cradling the unconscious Lu Mingfei in her arms. The gold in her eyes had faded, and she reached out a hand to wipe the blood from the boy's face.
On the other side, Professor Mans slumped against the ship's railing like a lump of mud. He coughed violently, spitting out a mouthful of blood mixed with rainwater.
The old professor looked around at the deadly bronze fragments and deformed steel bars scattered on the ground, then grinned wildly, his mouth full of blood.
"Cough cough... My domain is still as sturdy as ever." He turned his head and patted the still-shaken Selma's shoulder heavily.
"Just for the fact that we survived here today..." Mans gasped for breath, looking at the ravaged river surface, "this field operation in the Three Gorges... I'll give you full marks for your internship!"
Selma's eyes were red, and she nodded vigorously.
"Heartbeat...no heartbeat, it's really dead." Ye Sheng's body finally went completely limp. The Word of Power "Snake" covering the entire water area broke off inch by inch, and the intense dizziness made his knees buckle, causing him to fall heavily forward.
"Ye Sheng!" Aki rushed forward and hugged him tightly. "Are you alright?"
Seeing Ye Sheng's pale face, Aki's tears kept flowing. This girl, who had never backed down in front of the dragon servant, revealed her most vulnerable side when facing her lover.
"Ahem." Ye Sheng looked at Aki's tearful face and couldn't help but tease her, "Don't cry, you're all covered in tears, everyone's watching."
"I don't care, I don't care! Waaah..." As the gloom of the cruel battlefield faded, Aki finally broke down and threw herself into Ye Sheng's arms, crying loudly.
"Wow!" Grayson exclaimed, watching the drama unfold. "Have they finally made it official?"
"No, I think it's love that blossomed on the battlefield," Mans immediately corrected Grayson's dangerous statement.
"Oh. Yes, yes, this is a newly born love." Grayson winked at Mance.
After saying that, Grayson, dragging his leg which was cut by broken glass, limped to the deformed control panel and sounded the horn.
The deep sound of the ship's horn echoed long and deep through the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River as everyone leaned against the deck, waiting for rescue.
The downpour gradually turned into a fine drizzle. Grayson turned his head and looked at the center of the deck through the broken windshield.
Zero sat quietly amidst the puddles and scattered bullet casings, her platinum blonde hair falling beside Lu Mingfei's pale face. She wrapped her trench coat tightly around the boy, her arms firmly around him, shielding him from the rain. Like a guardian statue, she isolated him from all the surrounding bloodshed and clamor.
