This adventurer is overly righteous.

Chapter 52 Taking Stock of the Harvest

"A second murder..."

Kroya searched the body of the dead adventurer with a blank expression. Although his heart was stirred, it did not affect his actions in the slightest.

During this period, he killed a considerable number of goblins. When he attacked, he treated these adventurers as goblins, so he did not hesitate or show any fear.

Goblins have bodies that are similar to humans, so killing goblins can help adventurers overcome their fear of killing. Now, when Kroya stares at a human corpse, he doesn't feel any strong resistance, as if he's become familiar with the process.

This is probably why most adventurers are of questionable character; they have lost their reverence for life in their battles with monsters, and they will kill anyone as long as there is profit to be made.

"Even though you want to kill me..." Kroya dragged the four adventurers outside the cave and stripped them naked except for their clothes.

"But I wouldn't hold a grudge against your corpses."

Croa always respected the dead, even if the person was a jerk in life.

Anyway, he's already dead. Well, it was Kroya who killed him.

"You plotted to kill me, that is your sin. Your sin led to my killing of you and the taking of your wealth. Therefore, I forgive your sins, and I wish you a new life..."

Kroya recited a eulogy, praying for the souls of the adventurers he had killed.

The spirits of the dead possess special power, and just in case, Kroya took it seriously, displaying an extremely sincere and kind attitude.

In Kroya's vision, four pitch-black undead could be vaguely seen, churning and surging in the air, their hatred overflowing. But as they heard Kroya's sincere eulogy, their resentment gradually subsided and eventually dissipated in the north.

Kroa knew that they had gone to the land of the dead in the north.

"What kind of treatment you will receive there is not up to me." Kroya forgave them for trying to kill him, but he was certain that these four adventurers had committed other sins that were enough to make them suffer greatly in the underworld.

"May the gods grant you a just judgment..."

For the virtuous, a fair trial is certainly a good thing.

But for these wicked people, a just trial means endless torment; their eyes will be gouged out by eagles, their bodies will be burned by flames...

Your act of setting aside past grievances, respecting the deceased, and sincerely praying for the soul of the departed is commendable.

[Magic power slightly increased]

Seeing the small print appear in the lower left corner of his vision, Chroya felt a sense of satisfaction, but he knew that the main gain was not in this. So after spending some time dealing with the corpses of the four adventurers, he immediately began to take stock of the things he had taken from them.

First, there are several pieces of protective gear. All four adventurers carry armor that protects the main parts of their bodies. The types of armor vary and their value is difficult to estimate, so we will not discuss them for now.

As for weapons, there were six short swords, two daggers, and four one-handed shields...

Kroya realized he seemed to lack knowledge; he knew how much these items cost in blacksmith shops and weapon stores, but he didn't know their resale value.

As a veteran and elite adventurer, Carter's eyesight was indeed unmatched by Kroya.

They seemed to have just come from White Rock Town. They didn't have the goblin left ears cut off, but they carried medicine and other supplies, which were of little use to Kroya and were still intended for resale.

"This should be a magical item."

Kroya picked up the cloak because it was something the last adventurer, Kroya, had gone to great lengths to find.

It seems this cloak has the ability to conceal itself.

After examining it closely, Kroya discovered that it seemed to have lost all its magic power, leaving only some dim and lifeless runes, indicating that it was completely ruined.

"I wonder if it's possible to repair it?"

The idea popped into Kroya's head: he had Leijin's insights, and perhaps he could try out the various techniques recorded in this cloak.

So Kroya carefully put away the cloak, thought it over, and then used what was available to make a wooden box out of branches and vines, and put the equipment inside.

If the equipment is placed in a bag, the edges might tear it, and others might see the outline of the weapons inside, which would be too conspicuous.

......

"..."

As Kroya dumped a basket of weapons in front of him, Lejin stroked his beard.

"Do you think this is a garbage dump, where you'll take any kind of trash?"

He could probably understand what Kroya was thinking. Perhaps he had previously taken his weapons, so now he was bringing back some junk from who-knows-where for him to recycle.

"Let me make this clear, Croya, if you're going to let me handle these things, I can only buy them as scrap metal." Leikin pointed to the weapons in the basket. "Others will repair them and resell them, but I won't. They're not worthy of being sold in my shop; they're only fit to be melted down into molten iron."

"So what should I do?"

Kroya asked Leijin, and the two entered into a contract, making their relationship strong and reliable. So when Kroya returned to White Rock Town, the first person he sought out was Leijin, to discuss how to deal with the weapons.

After all, Kroya's time as an adventurer was very short, and he had not yet accumulated enough experience, so he still needed guidance in many things.

"Go find those dealers who buy back monster materials; they'll take anything," the dwarf Leijin said without hesitation. "If you're worried about being ripped off, I can give you an estimate."

"If they try to lower your price, just say that this is the price offered by Leijin."

"Let me see, the total is..."

"Two gold and twelve silver?"

The wind chimes in the shop swayed. Gis got up from his chair, pushed up his glasses, and squinted slightly. He was the one who had bought the horn of the giant field mouse, so Kroya came to find him again.

"This price is a bit too high. I think two gold coins would be enough. The quality of these equipment isn't as good as it looks."

He picked up one of the swords, pointed out a nick to Croya, and looked troubled.

"Of course I'd like to offer you a high price, son, but these things you brought aren't easy to sell. However, of course, if you're willing to lower the price a bit, then all the problems will be solved..."

"This is the price Leijin offered," Kroya exposed the other's act. "He thinks these items are worth two gold and twelve silver."

"Wow, wow, wow..." Geese picked up the equipment again and examined it closely. "How come there are some things I didn't notice before? I'm getting senile."

"Two gold and twelve silver?" Croya asked again.

"Two gold and fifteen silver," Gis replied, wiping his glasses. "This is a small compensation; I was indeed negligent just now."

"To be honest, I don't even remember your name. Have you ever told me your name?"

"Kroya".

"Okay, Chroya, um, Chroya." Gis repeated twice, "Give my regards to Legin, Chroya."
