Fairy Tail: This Healing Mage's hits hurt so much!
Chapter 271 Three Bastards
Riyao stood up from behind the bar, stretched, and decided to go check out Marx's Grocery Store.
That kid has been making a lot of new merchandise lately. Apparently, a limited edition Fairy Tail mug is selling like hotcakes, and he wants to see what it looks like in person.
As soon as he stepped out of the guild hall, two hands reached out from behind him.
They precisely caught his arms, one on the left and one on the right.
Riyao's feet left the ground, and his whole body was lifted up.
"Hey!! What are you guys doing?!"
He turned his head and saw that Philid was on his left and Biguslow was on his right.
The two men supported him as they walked toward the infirmary, their steps perfectly synchronized and their coordination seamless.
"Let's replenish the medicine," Philid said, his voice as serious as ever.
"There's no need to help me walk!! I can walk by myself!!"
"Sorry, it just happened instinctively."
Bigus replied with a grin.
Riyao was carried into the infirmary by the two men, and his feet touched the ground again.
He straightened his crooked collar, rolled his eyes, and resignedly dragged the two large boxes of medicine out of the cabinet.
The box was opened, and bottles of various medicines gleamed faintly under the light.
"Here are some healing potions, green ones. Mana potions, blue ones. A life-sustaining potion, red one; it's freshly made, its purpose is to keep you alive until I can save you. A fullness potion, beige one; one bottle lasts three days, an essential for home and travel..."
Riyao squatted down next to the boxes and pointed them out one by one.
"Which options are you planning to get? Or should I just pack a standard meal for you?"
Abba Greene squatted on the other side of the box, fiddling with the potion bottle with her fingers, her expression somewhat disgusted.
She picked up a green bottle, looked at it, and put it down.
I picked up a blue bottle, looked at it, and then put it down.
"Don't you have any beauty potions?"
She looked up, pushed up her glasses, and the glare from the lenses obscured her eyes.
"It's one of those potions that makes you several times more beautiful when you drink it."
"no."
Riyao's answer was crisp and concise, without even a pause.
"You're dreaming. If I could make that kind of potion, I'd be selling it to royalty and nobility already. Why would I be squatting here selling your wares?"
Abba Green's lips twitched, and she was about to lash out when Sunshine spoke again.
"I do have some face masks."
"...Okay." Abba Green swallowed the swear words that were about to come out.
Riyao stood up, walked out of the infirmary, and returned to the bar.
Abba Greene was confused, but she followed him anyway, standing behind him and peeking out.
"Mira!"
Mirajane poked her head out from the kitchen, holding a spatula in her hand.
"What's wrong?"
"Do you still have the jar of face masks I gave you last time?"
Yes, it's right there.
Mirajane pointed with a spatula to a drawer under the bar counter, then ducked back into the kitchen.
The spatula swung twice in the air, almost hitting the door frame.
Riyao squatted down, opened the drawer, and pulled out a palm-sized ceramic jar.
The jar was heavy; after shaking it, I could see that there was only a small amount of face mask left inside.
He unscrewed the lid and smelled it; the smell was alright, it hadn't spoiled.
"I'll make you another one when we get back."
Riyao called out to the kitchen.
"OK."
Mirajane's voice drifted from the kitchen, half-dampened by the sound of the spatula.
Riyao handed the jar to Abba Green.
Abba Green took it, held the jar blankly, looked down at it, and then looked up at Sunrise.
It took her several seconds to realize what was happening.
"Hey!! You left me with the leftovers?!"
Her voice rose two octaves, almost knocking her glasses off balance.
"It's good enough that there is one." Riyao walked towards the infirmary without looking back.
"I only give Mira face masks, okay? You're an outsider, and you're complaining about getting them for free?"
Ignoring Abba Green's powerless rage behind him, Riyao strode into the infirmary.
Philid and Biguslow had already started picking out the potions themselves, squatting on either side of the box like two picky cats.
Riyao walked over and squatted down to watch them choose, adding some explanations as he casually asked a question.
"Felid, are you planning to take this S-rank assessment seriously?"
Fred paused for a moment.
He looked down at the medicine bottle in his hand, remained silent for a moment, then looked up and gave this answer.
"If nothing unexpected happens, I will."
"OK."
Riyao shrugged and handed him the packaged medicine bag, asking him casually as if it were just a casual question.
I vaguely remember that in the anime, Fred went easy on either Cana or Lucy, or maybe he ate a sour plum or Wendy, but I've forgotten the specifics.
He packed the box away, pushed it back into the cabinet, and dusted off his hands.
It is already evening now.
One by one, the streetlights came on. Philid and his two companions decided to rest for the night and continue their work early the next morning.
After the dinner rush had passed, Mirajane finally let Lisana go.
She checked the time and had no choice but to go back to the manor with Elfman, Sunrise, and Mirajane to rest, and set off again tomorrow.
All the way, Lisana's little fists never stopped, pounding on Riyao's back.
"Brother-in-law, how could you not help your lovely sister-in-law?"
"I'll peel an apple for you in a bit."
Riyao walked ahead with his hands behind his back, letting her pound on him without even pausing for a moment.
Lisana increased her strength, swinging her fists like a windmill.
Unfortunately, the pressure was too light even for a massage from Riyao; he didn't even flinch.
"At least show me some respect!"
"Your fate is to be at your sister's beck and call; that's the law of nature."
"What kind of natural laws are these?!"
Lisana's roar echoed through the night sky.
As the group entered the manor gate, the shadows of the sycamore trees spread across the ground under the moonlight.
Sunrise habitually looked up at Mavis in the tree.
Mebius was floating on a branch when he saw him look up and immediately pointed to the entrance to the underground wine cellar.
Her expression was subtle, with the corners of her mouth slightly upturned, as if she were waiting to see a good show.
Riyao's smile froze.
(ー_ー)!!
It's all over.
Without saying a word, he took off running towards the wine cellar.
Mirajane, Lisanna, and Elfman exchanged glances. Wendy and Charlotte, unsure if the melon was ripe, followed along with some doubt.
The cellar door was wide open.
As Riyao rushed in, a strong smell of alcohol hit him in the face, almost knocking him over.
There were three people in the wine cellar.
Several barrels of fruit wine were completely empty.
Several empty wine barrels lay crookedly on the ground, and the alcohol concentration in the air was so high that it could be ignited.
These three people are: Kana, who should have been out doing commissioned work; Makarov, who should have been in the office handling official documents; and Kirdas, who said he was going to hunt some game in the wild.
"You bastards!!!"
The roar of the sun reverberated through the wine cellar several times.
Mirajane and the others arrived at the door just in time and fell silent upon seeing the scene.
Lisana tugged at Ramira's sleeve.
"Sis, what's wrong with brother-in-law?"
"His wine was stolen," Mirajane said calmly, as if she were reporting the weather.
Riyao strode up to Makarov, bent down, grabbed him by the back of his collar with his right hand, pulled him close to his mouth, took a deep breath, and roared into his ear.
"Damn it!! What are you doing?!"
Makarov's ears were ringing from the shock. He groggily opened one eye, saw the sun, and then closed it again.
"Sunrise is back... Come drink with us... It tastes really good..."
He let out a burp and tilted his head to the side.
Riyao's face was so black it looked like ink could drip from it.
I don't know if these three people were genuinely drunk or faking it.
But Riyao didn't care.
He dragged the three men out of the wine cellar one by one, all the way to the sycamore tree.
Then he took out a rope, tied the three people up tightly, and hung them on the branches of the sycamore tree.
The three people hung side by side, like three upside-down silkworm cocoons, with only their heads showing.
Even after the hoisting was completed, Riyao still felt uneasy.
He added more than a dozen extra spells to the rope.
With each new spell added, the rope would light up briefly, until finally the entire rope shimmered with iridescent light.
The coarse hemp rope undergoes a super evolution → the Immortal Binding Rope (low-quality imitation).
"Let's see how you break free."
Makarov and Kirdas hung from the tree, their eyes tightly closed, their breathing even as if they were asleep.
He absolutely refused to admit that he was still awake.
Kana opened her eyes.
She looked down at the height above the ground, then at Riyao's dark, shiny face, and decided to strike first.
"Brother Riyue, it's really uncomfortable hanging up there, swaying back and forth, it makes me dizzy."
She gave a sweet smile, her voice so gentle it could drip honey.
"Why don't you put me down? Just hang the chairman and my dad. They're tough as nails, it won't hurt them."
Makarov's snoring paused for a moment.
Gildarts' eyelids twitched.
"hehe."
Without even lifting his eyelids, Riyao turned around, walked to the dining table, picked up his chopsticks, and began to eat dinner.
Mirajane put a piece of braised pork on his plate. He took a bite and chewed it with a loud crunch. The braised pork had no bones.
Kana looked at Mirajane again, her eyes filled with a plea for help.
Mirajane shrugged, a hint of schadenfreude in his expression.
A mournful cry escaped Kana's throat.
She and two other old men were hanging from the tree, while Mavis floated on a branch next to them, watching the three of them with a widening smile.
The aroma of dinner wafted from the table: braised pork belly, sweet and sour pork ribs, steamed fish, and stir-fried bok choy with garlic were served one after another.
The steam, carrying the fragrance, drifted straight up the tree.
Kana's stomach started rumbling.
Two cooing sounds came from the side.
She turned her head and saw that Makarov and Kirdas' stomachs were also growling, but their eyes were still closed and they were still snoring, their acting skills were top-notch.
Gildarts secretly opened one eye and stole a glance at Sunbeam.
Riyao was eating fish, and his expression seemed normal, except that he was chewing a bit too hard.
He tentatively began to speak.
"Sunrise, why don't you let Kana go downstairs to have a meal? The child is still young and growing."
He paused, then added a sentence.
"Shall I beat up the old man for you to vent your anger? Anyway, he's tough, he won't break."
Makarov suddenly opened his eyes, rolled over, and swung his body over, his two short legs clamping around Kirdas's neck.
"You bastard!! You betrayed me again!! Take this deadly scissor kick!"
Gildarts was squeezed so tightly he could hardly breathe.
"You were the mastermind!! If you hadn't stolen the key, would we have been able to get into the wine cellar?!"
"nonsense!!"
The three people were blaming each other in the tree, their voices rising and falling, the rope swaying back and forth like three toads being blown by the wind.
Riyao put down his chopsticks and rubbed his temples.
He stood up, walked to the tree, and reached out to untie Kana's rope.
Kana landed lightly, rubbed her wrist which was red from being bound, and then dashed to the dining table, grabbed a big meat leg and started gnawing on it.
His mouth was covered in oil, and his cheeks were bulging like a hamster's.
"Hehehe, it wasn't for nothing that I called you 'brother' so many times when I was a kid."
She spoke in a mumbled voice, but the satisfaction on her face didn't seem faked.
"Eat up, it still won't shut you up."
Riyao sat back down at the table and picked up a piece of pork rib, putting it in his mouth.
Mirajane served him a bowl of soup.
Lisana silently handed Kana a tissue.
Elfman kept his head down and ate his rice, not participating in any discussion.
Wendy and Charlotte quietly drank their soup.
This melon smells so good!
Makarov and Kirdas are still hanging on the sycamore tree.
The two quieted down and stopped blaming each other.
Because shifting the blame was useless, Riyao simply ignored them.
Mavis floated on a branch next to the two of them, resting her chin on her hand, looking at the food on the table, and wiping away non-existent drool from the corner of her mouth.
Makarov sighed and muttered under his breath.
"I should have had two fewer drinks."
"You drank half a barrel," Gildarts sneered from the side.
"How dare you say that to me? You drank a whole bucket!"
"I can hold my liquor well."
"Good my ass, you fell down first."
Riyao suddenly said something.
"I'll be recording this here like a crystal ball later, so don't waste my wine."
The group was somewhat confused and couldn't figure it out.
By midnight, Makarov and Kirdas, the two parties involved, will understand.
