Falling into the Cretaceous

Chapter 8 Internal Crisis

Lin Ruochu had already taken off her red coat, revealing an elegant white shirt underneath, the hem of which was tucked into her red skirt. On her feet were the black boots that had been taken from the deceased's feet.

Her dignified demeanor seemed somewhat out of place in the chaotic environment. If it weren't for her smudged makeup and the many weeds and bits of plant ash in her hair, she would really look like she was having a photoshoot in the wild.

"Brother Ye, what's up?"

Lin Ruochu looked at Shen Ye with a puzzled expression in her almond-shaped eyes.

Were there two fighter jets flanking the plane before it crashed?

Shen Ye asked.

Lin Ruochu was puzzled as to why Shen Ye would ask this, but she nodded nonetheless.

"This means that the plane was out of control or hijacked before entering this world, which is why the captain contacted the military for rescue. What happened to the plane at that time?"

Shen Ye asked seriously.

"Brother Ye, the plane was indeed out of control for half an hour. Except for the communication equipment, all other instruments failed. When the fighter jets came over, they were in the same situation, and then the plane crashed. I don't know anything else."

Lin Ruochu said.

Shen Ye's expression changed slightly; it seemed the military was aware of this matter.

This greatly increased their chances of being rescued.

But those two fighter jets also went out of control. Does this mean that the fighter jets also crashed into this world?

However, Shen Ye did not hear the sound of the fighter jet crashing.

Shen Ye took the walkie-talkie off Lin Ruochu's body. If the pilots were still alive, they would probably try to contact the survivors.

"I have one more question for you: who was the air marshal on the plane, and is he still alive?"

Shen Ye asked.

When Lin Ruochu heard Shen Ye's question, she became flustered.

"Brother Ye, are you worried about...?"

"That's right, tell me quickly!" Shen Ye nodded.

Lin Ruochu bit her red lips.

"Brother Ye, both of our air marshals have been killed. I only saw one air marshal's body just now. The other air marshal's body was probably burned in the mid-air explosion... However, I found two security officers' bodies piled up over there... It's all my fault for not thinking of that immediately."

Upon hearing this, Shen Ye's heart skipped a beat.

He stared nervously at the people around him, but quickly looked away.

"Two air marshals, meaning two Type 92 rifles, and two security personnel. They were unarmed, but they carried pepper spray and stun batons. If these items were found among the survivors, it would be extremely dangerous. We need to remain calm, carefully probe, and report back to me once we find out what's going on."

Shen Ye said.

Lin Ruochu swallowed hard and nodded emphatically.

"Don't tell anyone about this. Go on, act like nothing happened, and keep doing your work. Just be more careful!"

Shen Ye said, his heart also pounding.

In such an environment, if someone with unstable emotions or evil intentions gets their hands on a weapon, the consequences can be extremely serious.

Shen Ye truly regretted not thinking of this matter when he gave the order to collect the corpses.

But now, the mistake has been made, and all that can be done is to remedy it.

Shen Ye knew very well that the person who got the gun posed the greatest threat to him, but for now, he probably wouldn't make a move, since he possessed knowledge that they didn't understand.

But this is a ticking time bomb.

It could explode at any moment!

Shen Ye went to the pile of supplies, where clothes had been taken off the corpses.

There were plenty of shoes, belts, and all sorts of clothes, but no matter how hard they searched, they couldn't find any guns, pepper spray, stun guns, or the like.

Shen Ye discreetly observed Mike and the several white men following him.

Some of them wore suits and shirts, while others wore hoodies. It was common for them to dress like this when boarding a plane in late spring and early summer. If they concealed their weapons in their waistbands or under their clothing, they would be difficult to detect.

They seemed to notice Shen Ye looking at them, and they all looked over as well.

Shen Ye quickly averted his gaze and deliberately walked towards Zhang Qiming, thus avoiding arousing their suspicion.

Zhang Qiming is using a seatbelt to secure his homemade spear.

"Brother Ye, what do you think of my spear?"

When Zhang Qiming saw Shen Ye approaching, he proudly showed off the spear in his hand.

The spearhead was made from a fragment of a propeller, and the shaft was made from a straight sapling of cedar that had not yet grown up, straight and tough.

"You can't bind a spearhead like that."

As Shen Ye spoke, he took his spear and poked it twice at the tree trunk next to him, and the spear immediately loosened.

Seeing this, Zhang Qiming gave a wry smile.

Shen Ye unbuckled the seatbelt binding the shrapnel, sat down on the ground, and used the sharp edge of his spearhead to carve an L-shaped groove into the shaft. Although it wasn't as effective as a knife, he could still carve an L-shaped groove with a little time.

"Brother Ye, aren't you worried that dinosaurs might come?" Zhang Qiming asked, seeing that Shen Ye looked rather relaxed.

"Don't worry too much. The fire here is burning fiercely. Predatory dinosaurs are naturally very sensitive to fires. The heat and smoke here are like a fire alarm, so there won't be any predatory dinosaurs coming over for the time being," Shen Ye said.

"I see. No wonder we've only seen those Western Clawed Dragons in the past hour or so, and haven't seen any large dinosaurs like Baryonyx."

Zhang Qiming suddenly realized.

"Mr. Zhang, I have something to tell you," Shen Ye said softly, glancing warily around. Seeing this, Zhang Qiming also came closer.

"What is it?" Zhang Qiming asked.

"There might be two Type 92 police pistols missing..." Shen Ye said his speculation, and Zhang Qiming's expression changed.

"This is a very important matter. Don't tell anyone else. I'm telling you so that you can keep an eye out for who has the gun."

Shen Ye spoke, and Zhang Qiming swallowed hard.

"Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on it."

Before long, Shen Ye had carved out an L-shaped groove. He then attached the "handle end" of the shrapnel to the L-shaped groove before securing it with a seatbelt.

The knots he used to bind his spear were very strong.

Although Shen Ye isn't exactly a survival blogger, he does have basic survival skills, and the knowledge he's learned is reliable.

For the sake of the shooting effect, in most cases, the team does all the work, and he just does the finishing touches.

Zhang Qiming took it in his hand and poked the tree.

"Brother Ye, that's great! This thing is really sturdy now!" Zhang Qiming was a little excited. Having a weapon at least made him feel more at ease.

"Teach this method to others and let them get spears too. Spears are the ultimate weapon for survival in the wild. If used well, a few people can kill a cow. As for killing dinosaurs, I dare not say, but it is definitely better than using your bare hands."

Shen Ye said.

"good!"

Zhang Qiming nodded.

"Brother Ye!"

At that moment, someone shouted from the direction of the tail end.

It's that kid from Ningbo.

"What is it?"

Shen Ye asked, and Ningbo beckoned to him mysteriously.
