Wizard: This mushroom is too fierce.

Chapter 55: The Blood Flame Tournament Begins

Five days later, the competition initiated by Roland on the forum finally began.

On opening day, the entire town of Northwind was packed with people—minotaurs, elves, humans, and almost every available race around the Deep Cavern Academy came to watch the competition.

Of course, this was due in part to Roland's efforts, and also to the sponsors. Roland had detailed discussions with them, and the five sponsors he selected were 'Shell Wizard Agency', 'Witch Workshop', 'Student Alliance Platform', 'Wizard Guild', and 'Constructor Shop Alliance'.

The Student Union and the Architect Shop Alliance are official organizations within the academy, and Roland used them to generate enthusiasm within the academy for participating in the competition.

The remaining three are the leading agencies in the Deep Caverns, operating intermediaries, restaurants, and business travel, through which Roland spread the word about GG throughout the entire region where the Deep Caverns are located.

Of course, the benefit of this behavior was that the entire Bloodflame Arena was full, and even Northwind City was overcrowded, bringing huge benefits to the economy of the entire Deep Cavern Academy.

Similarly, Roland himself, according to the agreement between him and his teacher Ashius, could obtain one-five-hundredth of the entire event's economy in magic stones through the holding of this competition.

Note: This applies to the entire event period, and includes a magic tax, which is like a market tax, levied on each magic shop and individual wizard participating in the market by collecting a certain amount of magic stones.

According to Professor Ashus's estimate, he could probably earn three thousand magic stones for nothing.

"Now, I declare the first Blood Flame Tournament officially open!"

A deafening roar echoed throughout the entire Northwind City. The next moment, seven dragons clad in silver armor flew from south to north through the Bloodflame Arena. Behind them, seven colorful fireworks trails slowly appeared in the sky.

"What a grand gesture..." Roland's mouth dropped open. The giant dragon in the sky was clearly a first-level creature. The academy had sent them out just for the opening ceremony.

"That's Roland Colt?"

Not far away, a tall, thin male wizard with a somewhat gloomy look in his eyes secretly watched Roland. If he defeated him, would he be able to be seen by the first-ring wizards in the academy during this grand battle feast?

No... it should be that he became famous overnight and became a new generation of wizarding seed.

As he imagined this scene, his breathing became heavy, and then...

"Enzo, let's go, we should go to the registration point to verify our identities."

"Here she comes... Annie..." Enzo smiled immediately upon hearing the voice of the girl he had his eye on. He quickly ran into the crowd and found the girl surrounded by people.

"I definitely can. As long as I defeat Roland, I'll become famous overnight, be valued by a first-ring wizard, be respected by everyone, and even be able to be with Annie..."

Enzo looked at his beloved, his heart pounding with excitement. If he won, he would propose to her in front of everyone!

.......

"Where is Roland? There's only half an hour left before the registration deadline, why hasn't he arrived yet?" At the registration point, Killian asked his family servant in a low voice.

"This..." The family servant hesitated for a moment, then whispered, "Could it be that he's too scared to come?"

"Lord Killian, I've recently heard rumors that someone is secretly saying that Roland is a publicity stunt created by the academy's higher-ups specifically to promote this event."

"You may have just been accidentally dragged into this promotional campaign."

Killian's face contorted with anger. He'd heard rumors about this too. Damn it, they were using him as a publicity stunt, and hadn't even settled the related fees. If he hadn't come, he'd truly become the clown... Roland... damn it...

"My lord, that person..." Killian's expression froze, his eyes widened, and he said in a deep voice, "Are you sure it's him? You're not mistaken?"

"It must be him!" The family servant nodded firmly.

"Make sure you film me looking good during the recording. You have to show off my best features." Killian straightened his clothes, cleared his throat, and stood up straight, blocking Roland's path.

"You've arrived?" Killian looked confident, staring at Roland with a wicked smile. "I hope you get through the qualifiers and make it to the finals."

"We probably won't meet in the qualifiers; you're in the upper half of the bracket, and I'm in the lower half."

Roland frowned. He glanced at the man in front of him. He was wearing a leather jacket, had a middle-part perm, and wore black leather boots, giving him a punk look. Behind him was another man in a black and white servant uniform, who was holding a crystal ball and recording the scene.

"May I ask who you are?" Roland asked softly.

"?" Killian's face froze. He stared at Roland's face in disbelief, trying to discern something from it: "You don't know who I am?"

"Don't you use forums?"

Roland frowned and retorted coldly, "Why should I know who you are?"

"And have your servant behind you turn off the crystal ball. If you record and use my facial features, I have the right to sue you in court."

"Crazy!" Roland muttered as he walked past them.

"Roland..." Killian's expression was extremely gloomy. He felt a great sense of humiliation, a humiliation far greater than being ignored.

He doesn't even know who he is?

What does he think he is?

A piece of trash that can be manipulated at will?

Killian felt an overwhelming rage. He stared at Roland's back and sneered. He had originally wanted to turn this offline battle, which had evolved from a verbal dispute on the forum, into a wizard show.

But now it seems there's no need for that.

Roland Colt Killian gritted his teeth and walked outside. He wanted to show Roland what crushing dominance and cruelty truly meant!

......

Roland arrived at the registration location, checked his name, glanced at the list, and found that he was indeed in the upper bracket, and would need to go through five rounds of competition on the first day.

After four more rounds of competition, they entered the final stage.

The final stage doesn't seem to be a contest, but rather a special set of rules.

After waiting for a moment, Roland, led by the attendants of the Bloodflame Arena, arrived at the preparation hall inside the arena.

"Boom!"

Inside the hall, there is a projected screen showing the scene on the ten arenas in the arena.

The clash of magical energy, the brutal battles of summoned beasts, the duel between knights and wizards, the battle between puppet magic and fortress magic, the clash between clay bombs and fireball cultists...

The various fighting styles broadened Roland's knowledge and made him realize that most wizards who dared to step into the arena must have some skill.

At the same time, a dwarf servant slowly approached Roland and said softly, "Lord Roland, the battle on arena number nine has ended. It's your turn now."

"Your opponent is a wizard specializing in the Beast Taming sub-specialization of the Summoning school."

Good luck!
