The First Military God of the Border

Chapter 17 Killing Bandits and Saving People

On the mountain road, the snow had been melted by the blood.

A burly, bearded man with a long knife leaned against the carriage, panting heavily.

His clothes were soaked in blood, and his hand holding the knife was trembling slightly.

Five or six bandits had already fallen in front of him, but the rest were tough guys, and he was tightening the encirclement.

The bandit leader was a scarred man carrying a broad-backed broadsword. He chuckled to the bearded man.

"I never expected you to be so skilled, killing six of us brothers."

"But that's where it ends."

"Put down the knife, and I can give you a quick death, otherwise..."

The bearded man didn't speak, but used his last bit of strength to grip the knife even tighter.

Scarface wasn't in a hurry. He pointed his big knife at him and said, "You think you're tough? I'll see if your bones are tougher or my big knife is sharper..."

"Brothers, start the train! Let him slowly experience the fear of death, hahaha..."

The dozen or so bandits all burst into laughter, their laughter echoing throughout the mountain path.

By this time, the bearded man was exhausted. A bandit rushed forward, and he barely managed to block the attack with all his might. In a moment of carelessness, the bandit's knife was already pressed against his chest.

The bandits didn't rush to kill him. Instead, they gently inserted their knives into his body, inch by inch, and he watched as his blood flowed freely.

After being tortured, the bearded man could no longer even lift his knife, and with his last bit of willpower, he leaned against the carriage.

"He's not going to make it."

A bandit chuckled as he looked at him, then struck him on the leg with the back of his knife. The force of the blow sent the bearded man crashing to his knees.

Another bandit stepped forward and kicked the bearded man hard, sending him sprawling to the ground.

It was already on its last legs.

"Alright, kill him..."

The scarred man waved to the bandits beside him: "Kill him. Pick his bones off piece by piece. I want to see just how hard his bones really are."

"Big brother, just watch."

However, the alert bandits soon realized something was wrong, because quite some time had passed and the two companions they had sent out to check the situation had not yet returned.

"Brother, why hasn't Shuanzi come back yet?"

"Um?"

The scarred man realized the problem and turned to look into the distance. However, instead of seeing his two men, he saw a scene that terrified him.

Because a man holding a bow and arrow was standing where the commotion had come from.

At that moment, the bow was already drawn and the arrow was aimed directly at him.

"Who are you?"

The scarred man quickly realized what was happening and asked a question.

However, just as he was about to act, the man in the distance released the bowstring, and the arrow, like a venomous snake, bared its sharp fangs and charged towards him.

Whoosh...

Before he could continue speaking, the scarred man had no chance to say anything at all.

The arrow shot directly into his mouth, exiting through the back of his head with tremendous force, and embedding itself in the snow in the distance. A line of blood drew a perfect arc across the pristine white snow.

Lin Hui was carrying a bandit's bow and arrows. The two bandits who had just come up to investigate immediately drew their knives to kill him upon seeing him. Lin Hui showed no mercy, killing both of them and taking their weapons.

After killing the scarred man, Lin Hui did not stop, but took out another arrow from his quiver.

This time, his target was another bandit who was about to kill the heavily wounded bearded man.

It was also a whoosh.

The man with the knife fell to the ground.

It wasn't until the two bandits fell that the others belatedly realized what had happened.

They immediately shouted and scattered, seeking cover.

However, it must be said that this group of people were truly brave. Their leader was already dead, but instead of scattering like birds and beasts, they sought cover.

Just as Lin Hui was finding the right angle to shoot, these people suddenly charged towards him with knives.

Soon, the distance between the two sides was less than fifty paces.

Seeing the bandits charging forward like madmen, Lin Hui pushed his speed to the limit, quickly drawing his bow and firing arrows. One arrow after another was shot out, and in no time, five corpses lay on the hillside.

Each corpse was killed with a single, precise arrow.

In an instant, Lin Hui completely suppressed the bandits' momentum.

Lin Hui wanted to continue shooting arrows and kill all the bandits, but when he reached out, he found that he had no arrows left.

The bandits below quickly discovered that Lin Hui had no arrows.

"Brothers, kill him! He's out of arrows."

The remaining bandits charged at Lin Hui again.

Seeing that Lin Hui had no arrows left, the bearded man mustered his strength and charged at Lin Hui.

The bandits thought Lin Hui was going to escape, but to their surprise, Lin Hui not only didn't run away, but instead charged back at them.

Lin Hui was very fast.

Charging down from his high vantage point, the powerful impact sent one of the bandits flying. Before the bandit could react, Lin Hui slashed him with his backhand, and a line of blood spurted from the bandit's neck, killing him instantly.

Before the man had even fallen, Lin Hui's knife was already aimed at another bandit.

Who is Lin Hui? He's a top-tier soldier.

Although his body is still relatively weak, his memories and various fighting skills remain, making these bandits mere mortals in his presence.

Just as the third bandit raised his knife, Lin Hui blocked it with his own, then tilted his body to the side, completely avoiding the knife.

Then, with his other hand, he used a grappling technique to seize the bandit's knife-wielding hand, and with his left hand, he plunged the knife into the bandit's stomach.

What followed was a one-sided massacre.

The fourth, the fifth...

Without exception, wherever Lin Hui's blade flashed, everyone died instantly, their blood spurting wildly on the snow, steaming hot.

The bearded man was shocked by what he saw.

This guy?

How can it be so amazing?

Lin Hui's body became a blur, weaving back and forth among the bandits. With each strike, a bandit would fall.

Soon, the bandits were almost all killed. The few remaining tried to escape, but how could they outrun Lin Hui?

He hadn't run more than a few steps before Lin Hui caught up with him. There was only one outcome: death...

In no more than half an incense stick's time, all the bandits had met their demise.

Lin Hui took a deep breath, his face full of satisfaction.

The feeling of fighting was wonderful; he hadn't had such an exhilarating battle in a long time.

However, Lin Hui quickly composed himself, threw away the knife in his hand, and walked up to the heavily injured bearded man: "Are you alright?"

The bearded man looked at Lin Hui, and only reacted when Lin Hui asked again, then quickly shook his head.

"It's alright. The injuries look serious, but they're not fatal. You'll be fine after a few days of rest."

Lin Hui nodded and escorted him to the carriage so he could rest for a while, while he himself prepared to enter the city.

The bearded man hurriedly said, "Brother, could you please leave your name? I will definitely come to thank you after I recover."

Lin Hui shook his head: "No need. I just stood up for what was right. There's nothing to repay you for."

Then, Lin Hui carried the venison on his back and headed towards the county town.
