Kyoto Night Kiss

Chapter 12 Do you still love him?

Seven years is enough to wear down a relationship beyond recognition.

Qu Yun suddenly felt a little cold, hugged her arms and rubbed her skin, looking at the man standing in front of her, her vision gradually darkening.

Thinking of what he said in the hospital not long ago.

She slowly began, "Mr. Lu, are you so eager to get back together, or do you want to be the father of my son?"

A hint of sarcasm flashed across Qu Yun's lips. "Sorry, my son's biological father is far more outstanding than you."

The only downside to having been in love is that you can tell what the other person is about to say at a glance.

Lu Junhe's brow twitched, and he said, suppressing his anger, "Qu Yun, think twice before you speak."

Qu Yun ignored him, a sliver of vengeful pleasure rising within her: "Lu Junhe, are you a qualified father?"

"Anyone who sees this would think your son has psychological problems; he's withdrawn, apathetic, and habitually avoids social interaction."

"Instead of wasting your time on me, you should go back and teach your kids more."

Lu Junhe's jawline suddenly tightened, and his dark eyes were filled with overwhelming anger.

Qu Yun ignored him and turned to go inside to pack Cheng Chongchong's things.

After a while, a loud "bang" came from the doorway.

The door was slammed shut.

Qu Yun paused for a moment while folding clothes, then immediately continued.

It's fine as it is.

Torment the rest of your life with hatred.

Lu Junhe sat in the corner, holding a wine glass between his fingers, gulping it down one mouthful after another.

The movements were swift and ruthless, as if they were sulking at someone.

The image of Qu Yun from just now kept flashing before his eyes, and her words stung him so much that he could hardly breathe.

"Hey, what a rare guest!" As soon as Zhao Yao entered his bar, he saw a certain child's father.

He sat down, looked at the empty wine bottles on the table, and wanted to speak.

"Leave me alone." Lu Junhe raised his eyes slightly, his tone suppressing his lingering anger.

Zhao Yao immediately raised his hands in surrender.

Watching her treasured bottles of wine empty one by one, her heart ached. She reached out and stopped Lu Junhe from bringing the glass to her lips again. "Hey, hey, that's enough. Why are you getting so worked up about the wine?"

He leaned back on the sofa, lit a cigarette, and said in a relaxed tone, "So what if Qu Yun went back to China and won't get back together with you? What's the big deal? Seven years is nothing. Her heart isn't with you. Even if you drink yourself to death here, she won't care."

Flicked his cigarette ash and glanced sideways at Lu Junhe, whose face was cold: "What are your conditions? Is it worth ruining yourself like this? We broke up back then, and now that he's made things clear, it's time for you to wake up."

Lu Junhe loosened his grip, letting the wine glass be taken away.

His eyelashes drooped, concealing the surging ferocity in his eyes.

After a long pause, he chuckled, his voice low and hoarse: "Who's ruining themselves? It's just a couple of drinks, is it really worth making such a big deal out of it?"

After saying that, Lu Junhe impatiently reached for the cigarette case, flicked a cigarette with his fingertip, and bit it on the corner of his lip.

The firelight flickered in the dim light.

Lu Junhe took a deep breath, slowly exhaled a smoke ring, and said in a detached tone, "If she knew that my son was born from her, would she still say such things?"

It's unbelievable that this woman could say such a thing.

He was so angry that his heart, liver, spleen, and lungs ached all at once.

Zhao Yao exclaimed "Holy crap!"

He sat up straighter: "Our little Yunyun used to be such a soft-hearted person. What terrible thing happened to her abroad that made her so sharp-tongued?"

"How about I give you some advice, bro?" A smile quickly appeared on Zhao Yao's face: "You can try to win her over with the child."

"What does our generation value? Forced relationships, though not sweet, at least quench thirst; bitter fruit is still fruit!"

Zhao Yao stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray.

He could act as a middleman to relay the message to Qu Yun, but Lu Junhe...

When Zhao Yao left, his tone was much more serious: "I'll just say one thing: you'd better be clear about whether what you're doing is love or possessiveness."

Lu Junhe loosened his collar but didn't answer.

After Zhao Yao had walked several steps away, he narrowed his eyes, his expression carrying a hint of warning: "There are some things you don't need to say."

Zhao Yao brought two boxes of nutritional supplements and a box of toy guns to the hospital to visit Cheng Chongchong.

Upon seeing Qu Yun for the first time, he said, "You've lost weight."

"He's also matured a lot."

The two walked to the window to chat, and Qu Yun deliberately turned up the volume of the TV series "Water Margin" that was playing on the television.

When Zhao Yao heard that Qu Yun's phone was broken, he specially bought her the most expensive and best phone on the market today.

Qu Yun refused several times, but to no avail, so she could only thank her and accept the gift.

"What about the old one?"

"I'll just leave it at home. There's nothing important inside anyway, so I don't want to get it repaired."

Zhao Yao nodded, glanced out the window, and saw a familiar black car.

He said, "I'm not going to beat around the bush with you. Don't you know what kind of place this run-down neighborhood is in? Strangers come and go, and you're a young woman with a child."

"I'm worried about you, brother."

Qu Yun never expected that her friend, whom she hadn't seen for seven years, would speak up in support of Lu Junhe's suggestion.

Although they met through Lu Junhe, their relationship was clearly quite good.

She frowned slightly, looking somewhat displeased.

"Don't rush to refuse," Zhao Yao said. "Let me explain. It's hard to find a place to live right now. Even if you do find one, what if there's a formaldehyde problem during the renovation?"

The chubby boy lying in the hospital bed was in good spirits, but he had been injured and had undergone surgery, and his body couldn't withstand the strain.

Zhao Yao: "That house was bought for you by Lu Junhe before, and it's rightfully in your name. What's wrong with you living there? Besides, you know that villa can't even be found on the map."

It's extremely safe.

Qu Yun opened her mouth, but hesitated to speak.

"Sweetie," Zhao Yao teased her as usual, "Just consider it helping your brother out. Hurry up and move in. Pack your things today, and I'll get someone to help you move in tonight. Be quick!"

Since things have come to this point...

For Cheng Chongchong's future safety, Qu Yun could only nod.

She glanced at Zhao Yao, who was leaning against the window.

Tall with broad shoulders, he always exudes a relaxed and carefree vibe.

Qu Yun's eyes welled up slightly: "Brother, thank you for being so good to me."

This "brother" came from the bottom of his heart.

Whether now or in the past.

Zhao Yao smiled and noticed a pair of thin-soled black leather shoes parked in the gap under the ward door.

They knew it was Lu Junhe who had arrived.

His reckless spirit returned: "Since you sincerely call me 'brother,' then I'll ask you a question."

Do you still love Lu Junhe?

Qu Yun was taken aback, and her fingertips curled up.

Zhao Yao then asked, "Or let me put it another way: you love the child's father now?"

On the hospital bed, Cheng Chongchong, a precocious child, was eavesdropping.

Qu Yun lowered her head when she saw the little ears standing up.

Lu Junhe's hand, which was about to knock on the door, froze in mid-air.

After a long while, he heard Qu Yun's exceptionally clear reply.

She said, "Yes, of course I love him. I love him very, very much."
