Kyoto Night Kiss

Chapter 49 Qu Yun pulled out the child's hair

The rain is getting heavier.

The black windshield wipers swung back and forth on the windshield. Lu Junhe's eyes were calm, and he felt irritated.

It was his mother who asked him to come and pick her up.

Yan Suling said on the phone that Tang Bingqing would marry into the Lu family sooner or later, so it would only be beneficial to get along with Lu Jinxing and build a good relationship.

He didn't respond.

The school gate is bustling with traffic and people coming and going.

Lu Junhe thought that Qu Yun might also appear.

With a "click," the car door opened.

Lu Junhe glanced at the rearview mirror, looked at Lu Jinxing who was sitting in the back row with his schoolbag on his back, and said in a low voice, "Tell me next time there's a parent-teacher conference."

"I was afraid you were too busy with work," Lu Jinxing replied softly.

After a long silence, Lu Junhe finally sighed, "But you are my son."

It was born to the woman he loved.

Tang Bingqing opened the passenger door and got in.

She closed her umbrella, and a lot of rainwater splashed out.

"It's the same for me to attend Jinxing's parent-teacher conference." Tang Bingqing smiled and glanced back. "Besides, every teacher praised him today, saying that I, as his mother, am very attentive to his education."

Lu Jinxing pursed his lips tightly.

Just as he was about to lower his head, he saw two familiar figures by the roadside, and his eyes lit up: "It's Chongchong and his mother!"

Lu Junhe looked up.

Qu Yun was holding an umbrella, tilting it entirely towards the chubby boy next to her, while a strange man grabbed her hand.

Tang Bingqing raised her hand and pretended to cover her nose. "She really is casual."

"They'd eagerly cling to any man they could find."

Lu Jinxing frowned, recalling how Qu Yun had shown concern for him before school ended, and couldn't help but defend himself, "Aunt Tang, please don't say that."

"Aunt Qu has rejected that uncle many times, but he keeps pestering her."

As soon as he finished speaking, the driver's side door opened.

Lu Junhe, holding an umbrella, walked past without looking back.

No matter how Tang Bingqing shouted in the car, it was no use. She turned her head fiercely and glared at the brat sitting in the back seat, "You poor thing that your father doesn't love and your mother doesn't care about."

"Remember this!"

How dare they ruin her plans?

Qu Yun held Cheng Chongchong tightly in her arms, while holding an umbrella with her other hand, unable to shake off the man's entanglement.

The other person sprayed their breath all over her face. "Get in my car. I'm divorced too. We'll have plenty to talk about. Isn't it hard raising a child alone?"

Qu Yun frowned and said, "If you keep doing this, I'll call the police."

"Alright, alright, I know you're a virtuous and chaste woman, okay?" The man's eyes began to show disdain. "But your husband isn't here, who are you putting on this act for?"

Holding a black umbrella, Lu Junhe walked steadily toward Qu Yun, the rain and mist making him appear even more somber and fierce.

Upon approaching, he threw down the umbrella in his hand and, without uttering a single unnecessary word, delivered a powerful punch to the stranger's cheek.

Qu Yun gasped in surprise as she watched the man who had been pestering her just moments before fall heavily to the ground, wincing in pain.

He braced himself against the puddle, retreating awkwardly as he asked, "Who...who are you? Why are you hitting me...?"

Lu Junhe lowered his eyes, looking down at him condescendingly, his voice as cold as ice: "Get lost."

"I am her husband."

The umbrella that had fallen to the ground was picked up, and Lu Junhe held it over Qu Yun's head.

Cheng Chongchong, nestled in her arms, peeked out, his eyes darting around: "Are you Uncle Wang?"

Lu Junhe paused for a moment, then said to Qu Yun, "Get in the car, the rain is too heavy."

Qu Yun shook her head. "I'll just take a taxi."

"Are you going to be stubborn now? What if the child catches a cold?" Lu Junhe's voice carried a hint of anger.

The heavy rain continued.

Qu Yun, with a few drops of rain clinging to her clothes, didn't understand why Lu Junhe was angry for no reason. She calmly said, "Tang Bingqing and your son are still in the car watching."

Lu Junhe seemed to have all his strength drained away in an instant.

The raindrops gradually turned into water from the showerhead.

As soon as Qu Yun got home, she gave Cheng Chongchong a hot bath.

When she came out of the shower, the little one looked anxious: "Mom, I brought my classmate's homework home, what should I do?"

Cheng Chongchong's cheeks puffed up as she thought of that woman: "It's all that dentist's fault for insisting on putting her bag on Lu Xingbu's desk, which means Lu Xingbu's textbooks have to be on my desk."

As he spoke, he glanced at Qu Yun, who seemed rather unhappy.

Cheng Chongchong, holding Qu Yun's hand, said, "How about I ask my dad to buy you a bag too? You'll definitely look five hundred times better than the dentist when you carry it!"

Qu Yun chuckled and asked the homeroom teacher to contact Lu Jinxing. If the homework wasn't urgent, Cheng Chongchong could take it to school tomorrow; if it was urgent, she would send someone to deliver it.

Although she still had questions for Lu Junhe, she decided against it because of the child.

The homeroom teacher replied to Qu Yun directly over the phone, saying that she could bring it tomorrow.

Cheng Chongchong was fiddling with his phone watch.

His bad classmate suddenly asked for his mother's phone number, and after he generously gave it to her, she stopped contacting him!

Hmph, tomorrow he'll bring two boxes of mushroom juice to school, and he won't give a single box to Lu.

Qu Yun received a phone call from an unknown number while going upstairs.

The little boy's voice was urgent, and it sounded like he was crying.

"Jinxing? Is that you?" Qu Yun asked with some uncertainty.

Lu Jinxing's voice came through intermittently: "Aunt Qu...you...can you come to my house?"

"Dad and Aunt Tang had a fight...Dad even bled, I'm so scared, I'm so sorry Aunt Qu...I don't know who else I can turn to."

Without hesitation, Qu Yun asked the nanny to take care of Cheng Chongchong a little longer before leaving the house without even changing her shoes.

On the phone, Lu Jinxing seemed to have calmed down and told her not to take what he had just said to heart.

Qu Yun had already gotten into a taxi; she didn't even need to ask for the address.

She was even a little shocked by her own words, then comforted him, "It's okay, Jinxing, don't be afraid."

"Your auntie really cares about you."

Qu Yun arrived quickly; it was Lu Jinxing who opened the door for her.

The little guy had tear stains on his face that hadn't been wiped away, and his eyes were darting around.

Sensing that he seemed to have something to hide, Qu Yun slowly squatted down, rubbed his head, and said, "Don't worry, Auntie won't say that you asked her to come."

"Just pretend Auntie came to bring you your homework, okay?"

A look of relief appeared on Lu Jinxing's small face.

Qu Yun felt her heart being clenched.

She remembered that on the phone earlier, Lu Jinxing had called Tang Bingqing "Aunt Tang".

—He was not born to Tang Bingqing?

Where is his biological mother?

He was exactly seven years old...

With a determined heart, Qu Yun secretly plucked a strand of Lu Jinxing's hair as she withdrew her hand.

She smiled apologetically, "Go back to your room, Auntie will go check on your father."
