She replied, "I have no interest in being a mistress."

Lu Junhe drove, and Qu Yun sat in the back with Lu Jinxing.

There was a TV in the car, and the little guy pitifully asked her if she could watch it with him.

Qu Yun thought there was nothing wrong with that, and was about to go to the animation page when Lu Jinxing actually found a zombie movie from the last century.

He watched it with great interest.

Qu Yun was so frightened that her scalp tingled. Whenever a scary scene came up, she would look up and her gaze would fall on the rearview mirror inside the car, where Lu Junhe had a bright smile on his lips.

But a child is still a child, and after a short while, he yawned and fell asleep in the car.

When they passed a service area, Qu Yun lowered the car window slightly and got out of the car.

She bought a bag of milk and a cup of coffee at the convenience store. Watching the clerk make the coffee, she whispered, "It doesn't need any sugar at all."

No sooner had he finished speaking than an unfamiliar voice sounded behind him.

Qu Yun turned her head and saw a man with tattooed arms who casually asked her, "Beautiful lady, are you alone?"

"Where are you going? Want to join us for a road trip?"

Just then, a cold and steady footstep sounded.

"Our son is still waiting in the car."

Qu Yun pushed Lu Junhe aside and took the coffee from the shop assistant.

Lu Junhe raised an eyebrow, lowered his head, and took a sip of the coffee she was holding.

Qu Yun sat in the car, her heart beating a little fast.

I wish I hadn't come to this amusement park so far away.

Upon entering the park, Lu Jinxing was the happiest. While browsing the entrance shop, Qu Yun picked out a bear headband for the little guy, while she squatted down and let Lu Jinxing put the rabbit ear headband he had chosen on him.

Lu Junhe lagged behind, looking somewhat lonely.

When he asked if there was anything suitable for him, neither the big nor the small one answered.

While rushing to pay, Lu Junhe casually tossed a fox-ear headband to the bill along with the cash.

He continued walking behind, fiddling with the headband in his hand. He didn't expect it to be so tight, like a headband.

I originally wanted to take them off, but seeing the rabbit ears on Qu Yun's head, I endured the pain.

Qu Yun had never actually been to the amusement park.

The most she'd ever ridden was a pirate ship set up in the open air, the kind that used to be common at market days in her hometown. It was noisy and the colorful lights were so bright they hurt your eyes.

However, she was still quite scared after riding it once.

Qu Yun waited for Lu Jinxing to choose between the carousel and the bumper cars first, but the little guy pointed to the tallest building in the park—the roller coaster.

Just then, a train carriage sped past, and as it reached a steep bend, it suddenly flipped over, leaving all the passengers upside down.

The piercing screams from above made Qu Yun's eardrums tremble.

Children need more time to ride roller coasters.

Qu Yun silently prayed that her son wouldn't be too tall, but when she opened her eyes and saw the staff letting her through, she felt utterly devastated.

"Great, Mom! We can play together!" Lu Jinxing said happily.

Lu Junhe did not miss the fleeting despair on Qu Yun's face.

As her turn approached, Qu Yun kept giving herself positive self-talk.

She absolutely cannot be a spoilsport mom.

It's just riding a roller coaster, not passing by her grave.

But when it came time to actually sit down, Qu Yun looked at the two seats in the same row and pushed Lu Junhe forward, ordering him fiercely, "You stay with our son."

She screamed alone in the back, which made her seem a little less embarrassed.

Lu Junhe did not refuse.

Qu Yun sat stiffly into the cold seat, her fingertips gripping the armrest tightly.

The staff stepped forward and slammed the heavy, sturdy safety bar down onto her waist and abdomen, then pulled on the seatbelt.

As they were talking, a soft laugh came from beside them.

Qu Yun suddenly opened her eyes and found that the staff member from before was no longer there, and Lu Junhe had sat down next to her at some point.

Qu Yun retorted, "Why aren't you spending time with the children?"

She craned her neck and saw that Lu Jinxing was sitting next to a girl who was about the same age as him.

The two of them even held hands in a rather adorable way.

The roller coaster slowly started moving, its wheels humming as they rolled along the tracks, gradually ascending into the sky.

As the wind picked up around them, Qu Yunxin's heart leaped into her throat.

Suddenly, the man beside her turned his head, lowered his voice, and whispered in her ear, "Because I want to be a good husband."

The roller coaster paused briefly, then plunged straight down.

A gust of wind rushed towards her, and Qu Yun screamed in fright. In her panic, the hand next to her grabbed her hand and tightened its grip on her fingers one by one.

Qu Yun was filled with fear and had nowhere to put it. Her fingertips tightened unconsciously, and her sharp nails dug deep into the back of Lu Junhe's hand.

Qu Yun suppressed the turmoil in her body, raised her head, and stared intently at the man in front of her. "You are just as hypocritical as you were seven years ago."

"Lu Junhe, weren't you just pretending to love me back then?"
