Kyoto Night Kiss

Chapter 7 Lu Junhe still came...

Two hours before the anniversary dinner began.

Qu Yun checked the list of invited guests again. As she flipped through the booklet, her gaze unconsciously lingered on a certain name.

The remarks column is empty.

That man probably won't come.

Cheng Chongchong followed Qu Yun after school today. Firstly, because the old lady next door had her spinal inflammation flare up from his antics, and secondly, because he missed Qu Yun so much that he pouted his chubby cheeks and accused her of not spending enough time with him.

Qu Yun had no choice but to take the chubby boy to the hotel and asked the patrolling security guards to keep a close eye on the child.

Cheng Chongchong was very excited to see the small children's playground on the lawn. She climbed onto the slide and laughed loudly, "Mommy, I want to play here!"

"Okay, then be careful," Qu Yun instructed, making sure the phone watch on the child's wrist was fully charged and powered on. "Call me if anything happens."

"I'll bring down the small cakes for you when things calm down upstairs."

"Pop!"

Cheng Chongchong slid down and gave Qu Yun a big kiss on the cheek.

Qu Yun smiled and went upstairs.

As Lu Junhe went downstairs, he ran into Tang Bingqing, who seemed surprised by his attire and asked, "Are you attending a banquet?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Tang Bingqing wanted to step forward and help Lu Junhe straighten his bow tie.

The man took a half step back without making a sound.

Tang Bingqing's hand hung stiffly in mid-air. She said, "Need a female companion? I'm free tonight, I can keep you company..."

"No need," Lu Junhe interrupted calmly. "This is not covered by the agreement we signed."

He turned and walked out of the company.

Tang Bingqing's expression darkened. Seeing her secretary approaching from a distance, she asked, "Which company's banquet is Mr. Lu attending tonight?"

"It's the anniversary celebration of Lanting Hotel."

Why did he still go to the event when the hotel had already cancelled the suite rental?

A woman's face immediately popped into Tang Bingqing's mind.

A sinister glint flashed in her eyes.

Let her deliver a gift and have some fun.

The banquet was conducted in an orderly manner, with a huge crystal chandelier shining brightly and piano music playing on site.

Qu Yun stood at the entrance to greet guests. Her fair and flawless face was lightly made up, and she wore a well-tailored work uniform that accentuated her slender waist. Her understated aura was eye-catching in the crowd.

Whenever guests arrive, she greets them with a generous and appropriate smile.

Several senior board members were also present and were quite satisfied with all the arrangements.

Suddenly, a woman in a red evening gown walked in, her body radiating a fierce aura, and stopped at the entrance.

Qu Yun greeted her politely as always: "Hello, ma'am."

Hu Manman raised her hand and delivered a crisp, loud slap to Qu Yun's cheek.

A loud "smack" shattered the elegant atmosphere of the entire event.

Qu Yun was knocked to the ground on the reception table, several glasses of champagne spilled over, and the pale golden liquid flowed onto her white top.

They were in a sorry state and in a terrible predicament.

Hu Manman raised her voice, deliberately wanting everyone at the banquet to hear: "You thief, how dare you steal my diamond ring from my room! It's worth half a million!"

"Only you, the VIP reception manager, have ever been in my room. Do you dare steal it, or are you afraid to admit it?"

Qu Yun's face was burning with pain, and her ears were ringing.

She could sense that all the guests were whispering among themselves, and that every now and then a questioning look would fall on her.

Qu Yun clenched her fists, slowly straightened up, and calmly said without losing her temper, "Madam, on behalf of the hotel, I apologize for the suspected loss of your belongings. The hotel has strict room management regulations, and it's impossible for me to take your ring."

"You may have accidentally left it somewhere in the room. I can help you look for it."

If she causes a scene in this setting, she will lose her job and will be unable to help Mrs. Windsor regain control of the hotel.

Although everyone's contempt and ridicule almost suffocated her, she could only maintain her dignity.

Anyway, nobody knows her...

At that moment, the crowd of onlookers automatically parted to make way for each other.

Lu Junhe was dressed in a black suit, exuding a cool and captivating aura.

For some reason, Qu Yun's eyes suddenly stung.

Or perhaps she didn't want to be seen looking like this, so she subconsciously lowered her head.

Hu Manman persisted, "Then go find it yourself! All you can do is talk!"

Lu Junhe frowned. Before he could take another step, a large crowd swarmed around him, surrounding him in the very center of the fame and fortune arena.

Qu Yun fled to the edge of the crowd.

Two colleagues were very nice and accompanied Qu Yun to Hu Manman's room to look for the ring. One of them was indignant: "I've heard that Hu has a bad temper and acts arrogantly because her cousin is the future wife of the Lu Group."

"Aren't we service industry workers human beings? You can't just hit us and verbally abuse us whenever you want..."

Qu Yun, who had been silent, became somewhat moved upon hearing the name "Lu Shi".

Everyone knows that there is only one Lu family in Beijing.

Another colleague added, "Sister Qu Yun, you may not know this yet because you just returned to China, but the future Mrs. Lu is Ms. Tang who used to stay in suite number 8888."

"I heard from rumors that the two of them have secretly gotten engaged within the industry."

Qu Yun suddenly started coughing, as if her throat was stuffed with a wad of water-soaked cotton, the strands of which were choking her so tightly that she couldn't breathe.

She went to the bathroom, where the diamond ring was prominently displayed on the sink.

That's true, the person who wanted to frame her wasn't stupid either.

The hotel is under surveillance inside and out. If the police are called and something is found out, the attempt to steal a chicken will backfire.

The melody seemed to foresee the ending.

If Hu Manman had any conscience, she might thank her, or simply assume that as a service worker, she deserved to be treated like a dog after being slandered, having to help customers find their lost items.

But what could she do? She didn't want to just swallow her anger...

When the two colleagues saw Qu Yun come out of the bathroom with the ring in her hand, they breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that it was good that the ring had been found.

Qu Yun smiled and asked, "Could you please invite Ms. Hu up for me?"

The colleague assumed that Qu Yun wanted to show the guests where the items had been forgotten, so she agreed.

Hu Manman was called out of the banquet and was very unhappy.

She kicked open the room door with her high heels, muttering, "Since you found it, why didn't you deliver it to me yourself? How dare a lousy waiter order me around?"

She then thought of how to teach Qu Yun a lesson.

However, as soon as she stepped inside, Hu Manman stopped in her tracks.

Qu Yun sat on the edge of the table, her straight and shapely legs swinging gently. Unlike her disheveled state at the banquet, she now had a bright smile on her lips, even with a hint of disdain.

"What...what are you doing?" Hu Manman asked.

The next second, she clearly saw Qu Yun reach out her hand, and the diamond ring was slipped onto her ring finger, the diamond reflecting a dazzling light under the lamp.
