The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

After hanging up the phone, Lin Bufan picked up the script for "Love is Not Blind" again.

The most important characters in this movie are the female lead Huang Xiaoxian and the male lead Wang Xiaojian.

Lin Bufan considered whether to use the original cast, but ultimately decided against it. In some ways, Yang Mi's personality was similar to Huang Xiaoxian's, especially in terms of her sharp tongue.

Casting Yang Mi as Huang Xiaoxian would be close to a natural fit, if not a genuine performance.

"Wang Xiaojian's..."

Now, what's giving Lin Bufan a real headache is the character of Wang Xiaojian.

That kind of feminine yet not effeminate balance is something most male actors can't quite achieve.

Suddenly, Lin Bufan thought of someone and picked up the phone to dial that number.

"Feed?"

"I am Lin Bufan!"

Zhu Yawen's voice came through the phone.

"Extraordinary? Holy crap, what have you been up to? I heard you took several months off."

Zhu Yawen was quite surprised to receive Lin Bufan's call.

Although Lin Bufan is a directing major, he is also a member of the 02 class of Beijing Film Academy. He usually has a good relationship with Zhu Yawen and Huang Bo.

A while ago, Zhu Yawen thought he hadn't seen Lin Bufan in a long time, so he went to the directing department to find him, thinking he would have a drink that night, only to find out that Lin Bufan had taken a long leave of absence.

"Hey, don't say your godfather didn't take care of you. There's a movie lead role out there, interested?"

Lin Bufan didn't explain either. He only told a limited number of people about this trip to Hollywood. The rest would naturally become clear after "Manchester by the Sea" was nominated.

"Godfather, I'm coming right away..."

After hanging up the phone, Zhu Yawen hurriedly put on his clothes and took a taxi straight to the address Lin Bufan had sent him.

Zhu Yawen is currently working in the television drama industry, mostly in minor supporting roles. Now that he has the opportunity to act in a movie, he certainly can't miss it, especially since he's playing the male lead.

With the male and female leads of "Love is Not Blind" cast, the most outstanding among the remaining roles are the sharp-tongued Lao Wang and the sweet-voiced Li Ke.

Lin Bufan decided to cast Zhang Jiayi as the actor playing the role of Lao Wang.

As for Li Ke, although this role is only a supporting one, a good performance can greatly enhance the film.

Suddenly, Lin Bufan's gaze was drawn to a newspaper on the table.

The whole story of how Lin Chih-ling, Taiwan's number one beauty, was hospitalized due to injury...

Lin Chih-ling

Upon seeing the name, Lin Bufan's eyes lit up instantly. The role of Li Ke seemed tailor-made for Lin Zhiling.

"Old Wang, contact Lin Zhiling..."

Lin Bufan picked up the phone and called Wang Mingliang in the production department.

"Yes, Mr. Lin."

After hanging up the phone, Lin Bufan shook his head slightly. It seemed he needed to hire an assistant.

At this time, Lin Zhiling was hospitalized in Dalian. The reason was that at the beginning of the year, she had an accident while filming GG and broke several ribs. She was recuperating in a hospital in Dalian.

"Don't look so gloomy. Wait a few more days until you've recovered, then announce your comeback." In the hospital room, Lin Zhiling's manager looked at the frowning Lin Zhiling and comforted her.

"I just regret it, because I'm currently in the prime of my career."

Lin Zhiling sighed. Since being named the most beautiful woman in Taiwan last year, her career has taken off. However, an accident at the beginning of the year resulted in her breaking several ribs, which delayed her career for the past six months.

In the entertainment industry, it's either progress or decline.

It may seem like only half a year, but it can bring down a popular star, especially an actress like her who only has looks and no works.

Originally, she should have taken this opportunity to transform herself from a model into a star.

The company has already prepared several idol dramas for her, even if she only plays the second or third female lead, that would still be enough to enter the entertainment industry and become a star.

As a result, everything fell through because of this hospitalization.

"Don't worry, with your qualifications, there will be other opportunities in the future."

The agent looked at Lin Zhiling with a serious expression.

With Lin Zhiling's looks and figure, especially her irresistible, sweet voice, she's sure to have great career prospects.

Of course, this is all predicated on Lin Chih-ling being willing to make the effort. Her agent isn't worried about that, as she knows Lin Chih-ling is a smart person and knows how to make the right choice.

Just as her agent had predicted, Lin Chih-ling's future was not affected by this accident, and she even starred in the multi-million dollar film "Red Cliff" in 07.

"Mengmeng, stand up!"

Although the dialogue was a bit harsh, it wasn't her fault; it was the director's and screenwriter's problem, mainly the director's.

Unlike abroad, in China, everything in a film crew is decided by the director. If the director disagrees, neither the scriptwriters nor the final edited version can be shown to the audience.

"Hey, over there?"

The phone rang suddenly, and the agent answered it.

"Hello, this is Kyoto Entertainment. We'd like to discuss a film project with Ms. Lin Chih-ling..."

Without a doubt, the call was made by Wang Mingliang.

Wang Mingliang has been in the entertainment industry for many years, so he does have some connections.

"Kyoto Entertainment Company?"

After hanging up the phone, the agent looked at Lin Zhiling and asked, "Have you heard of this name?"

"No!"

Lin Zhiling shook her head and looked at her agent: "What's wrong?"

"I just got a call from Kyoto Entertainment. They're preparing to shoot a movie and they'd like you to play the second female lead."

Li Ke is undoubtedly the second female lead in "Love is Not Blind," with a significant amount of screen time and many memorable moments.

"Movie!"

Upon hearing the word "movie," Lin Chih-ling's eyes lit up instantly.

There's an unwritten hierarchy of disdain in the entertainment industry, with those in the film industry looking down on those in the television industry.

In TV dramas, as long as the script is good and the acting is not too bad, many shots are taken from a distance, so facial details are not visible. But movies are different. The big screen magnifies facial expressions, so even a slight lack of acting skill can be noticed at a glance.

"Sister Rou, what do you mean?"

Lin Chih-ling looked at her agent.

"Why not? Of course I'll accept it."

Just kidding, this is for making a movie, of course I'll take it.

Whether Kyoto Entertainment is famous or not is not important. What's important is that we can make a movie. We absolutely cannot miss this opportunity.

……

"Lin Bufan, what's this about the female lead in the movie you mentioned?"

After taking a taxi to Kyoto Entertainment and giving Lin Bufan's name, I was taken directly to Lin Bufan's office.

"The script is right there, take a look first."

Lin Bufan glanced at the script on the table and gestured to the other party.

Upon seeing the script, Yang Mi forgot about Lin Bufan's claim of being her father on the phone earlier, and sat down on the sofa to read it.
