The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

"Wait a moment!"

Before Lin Bufan could speak, Theodore Lance suddenly rushed out from the room behind him, but before he could get close, Li Feng stopped him.

"If the annual salary is $10, I can work for you too..."

Theodore Lance stood in the doorway and shouted loudly at Lin Bufan.

In reality, although he harbors a deep-seated prejudice against Chinese people, it's not a serious issue. He was simply trying to negotiate with Lin Bufan earlier.

You've lost your chance!

Lin Bufan didn't even turn his head, and left with Carter.

"Fuck..."

Seeing Lin Bufan and his group leave, Theodore Lance cursed angrily, but someone was blocking his way, so he couldn't catch up.

He is now filled with regret.

He finally got a chance to escape this damn slum, but he missed it.

……

After leaving the slums, Lin Bufan thought it over carefully and finally decided to use money to pave the way.

Currently, there are many visual effects companies in Hollywood that are either going out of business or on the verge of bankruptcy. He could easily start his own visual effects company and then poach talent from those companies.

Back in Hollywood, Lin Bufan took out his phone and called Ron.

The other party accepted Lin Bufan's order again without the slightest hesitation.

The next day, a special effects company called Skyworks was established, with Carter serving as manager. Carter would step down once a suitable professional manager was found.

As for special effects talent, the company continuously recruits talent through Ron.

"Boss, John Cusack is here."

John Cusack was invited by Lin Bufan through the Screen Actors Guild.

"Hello, John!"

"Director Lin, hello!"

Lin Bufan and John Cusack met for the first time.

John Cusack has been working in Hollywood for over a decade and is currently considered a top-tier actor, earning $1000 million per film.

He's still halfway to the $2000 million mark that top male stars earn.

That being said, John Cusack couldn't be arrogant in front of Lin Bufan, who was an Oscar-winning director.

Moreover, the other party is one of the shareholders of Extraordinary Pictures.

After gaining fame with "Manchester by the Sea," Extraordinary Pictures' low-budget, high-grossing film "Insidious" allowed them to instantly establish themselves in Hollywood.

Following that, Extraordinary Pictures launched several more productions, each with a minimum investment of 20 million US dollars.

Whether in mainland China or Hollywood, investors and directors are at the top of the food chain for actors.

"The reason I invited you here is to ask you to star in a movie..."

After a few casual words, Lin Bufan got straight to the point.

Although John Cusack has never won a Best Actor award and his box office appeal is average, Lin Bufan still decided to have him star in the movie "2012" again.

The other party's performance in the later film "2012" was, if not perfect, close enough.

Some flaws are problems with the script, not with the actors.

"Director Lin, is this an art film?"

John Cusack's eyes lit up.

He'd take any art film, even without a salary. If he could win the Oscar for Best Actor, he'd instantly become a top Hollywood star, and investors would be willing to pay as much as $20 million.

"It's not an art film, it's a disaster film..."

Lin Bufan shook his head slightly, and then briefly explained the general plot of "2012".

"How is it?"

"I'll take it!"

When John Cusack heard the story, he was instantly moved when he grasped the meaning of "disaster" and "humanity" in Lin Bufan's words.

Of course, since it's not an art film, the salary is also the market price, ten million US dollars.

Once the male lead is secured, the other actors, apart from the female lead, aren't that important.

The female lead was originally the daughter of a Black president, and she was a Black woman.

However, this is not 09 anymore, and the African American president has not yet taken office. He directly revised the script, not only turning the president's daughter into a white woman, but also cutting her scenes.

Since he doesn't need to fawn over the other person, he naturally won't give them too much screen time.

Moreover, in his film "2012", America is not portrayed as so idyllic; it is also full of humanity and scheming, only all of this is contained within the special effects.

Therefore, the absolute female lead in his film "2012" is the male lead's wife.

"Carter, send Jessica Alba an audition invitation."

Lin Bufan thought for a moment and looked at Carter.

In fact, Lin Bufan originally wanted Jessica Alba to play the role of the president's daughter, but considering that he had already cut some irrelevant scenes from the role.

This character has been relegated to the third or even fourth female lead.

In Hollywood, there are only a handful of actresses who fit Lin Bufan's aesthetic standards, and Jessica Alba is one of them.

"Understood, Boss!"

Carter wore an expression that every man understands.

In fact, after the last Oscars ceremony, Lin Bufan had asked Carter to help him make an appointment with the other party.

However, due to an unexpected situation in China, Lin Bufan returned to China directly, which resulted in him not being able to meet her last time.

……

"Hello, Miss Jessica!"

Lin Bufan met Jessica Alba for the first time in a coffee shop.

The last time at the Oscars doesn't count, because the distance was quite far, and although I knew it was the other person, I couldn't see them very clearly.

Now, sitting at the same table, they can appreciate each other's beauty even more clearly.

It has to be said that Jessica Alba is truly a perfect match for Lin Bufan's aesthetic.

In addition, there is another reason: Jessica Alba was born into a Catholic family, and the family members are all quite conservative. Furthermore, her husband has had no scandals since their marriage, which is very commendable.

However, precisely because of this, and because of her unwillingness to put in the effort, Jessica Alba's resources in later generations were relatively poor.

"Director Lin, hello!"

Jessica Alba looked at Lin Bufan with curiosity.

Like Lin Bufan, this was also Jessica Alba's first time meeting Lin Bufan up close, but she had already heard of him.

At the previous Academy Awards ceremony, she witnessed him win the Oscar for Best Director.

Moreover, Lin Bufan won the Oscar for Best Director for himself and helped Casey Affleck win the Oscar for Best Actor with just one film.

This is more appealing to many actors.
