The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

The film "Love is Not Blind" only cost 1500 million yuan to make. The male lead, Zhu Yawen, and the female lead, Yang Mi, were both newcomers, and their combined salaries were only 50 yuan.

The salaries for other supporting actors were even lower; all their salaries combined amounted to only 200 million.

The remaining funds were used entirely for filming the movie.

With a budget of 1500 million, the film has now grossed over 200 million at the box office, and is currently grossing around 2 million per day. It is estimated that the film will gross nearly 2000 million more by the time it leaves theaters.

Based on box office revenue sharing, the final net income will be around 7500 million. After deducting the cost of 1500 million, the net profit will be 6000 million, a 4-fold return.

Currently, many listed companies in China may not even earn ten million yuan a year.

……

The next day, the cast and crew of "Manchester by the Sea" reunited.

Casey Affleck, Lucas Hedges, and Michelle Williams greeted Lin Bufan with expressions of admiration.

"Director Lin!"

The three approached Lin Bufan and greeted him respectfully.

Manchester by the Sea received a total of six Golden Globe nominations, including Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress.

In other words, all three of them were nominated.

Since being nominated for a Golden Globe, the three have received many acting offers.

"Cassie, long time no see."

Lin Bufan stepped forward, hugged the other person, and then nodded to Lucas and Michelle.

The 63rd Golden Globe Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. At that time, a red carpet dozens of meters long had been laid out outside the hotel, and reporters from all over the world stood on both sides of the red carpet.

As arranged by the organizers, each film crew walked the red carpet and entered the hotel.

After entering the hotel, Lin Bufan sat down in the seat provided by the organizer.

"Director Lin!"

As soon as Lin Bufan sat down, he heard familiar Mandarin voices beside him.

"Hello Director Lin, my name is Zhang Ziyi."

Zhang Ziyi stood to the side, looking at Lin Bufan with a smile.

"Hello, Ms. Zhang."

Lin Bufan stood up, gently shook hands with Zhang Ziyi, and then let go.

His actions surprised Zhang Ziyi slightly; she hadn't expected him to be so gentlemanly, not taking advantage of her at all.

"Director Lin, we meet again."

After exchanging a few pleasantries, just as Zhang Ziyi was about to proceed to the next step, Chen Kaige brought the "The Promise" crew to Lin Bufan.

"Director Lin, let me introduce you. This is Zhang Bozhi, a very hardworking girl."

Introduced by Chen Kaige, Zhang Bozhi looked at Lin Bufan with her big, bright eyes and extended her hand: "Director Lin, hello."

Zhang Bozhi was very curious about Lin Bufan.

The film "Love is Not Blind" became the second highest-grossing film in Chinese film history. This single film made Lin Bufan a sensation in the entertainment industry, especially since he was a director, not an ordinary actor.

In the entertainment industry's hierarchy of contempt, directors are at the top, and above them are the financial backers and capitalists.

Coincidentally, Lin Bufan owns his own company, and even the movie "Love is Not Blind" was produced by his own company, making the other party a fortune.

Most importantly, high-grossing directors promote their actors.

Since the release of "Love is Not Blind" and its huge success, the male lead Zhu Yawen and the female lead Yang Mi have become popular young actors and actresses in the entertainment industry.

Undeniably, their current popularity is due to the movies. Once the movies are no longer showing, their popularity will gradually fade, and if they don't have any good works in the future, they won't be able to maintain their current status.

However, in just this short period of time, Zhu Yawen and Yang Mi took on a lot of events and made a fortune in just half a month. Yang Mi, in particular, earned millions in just half a month.

To put it bluntly, fame in the entertainment industry is nothing more than fame and fortune.

Both Zhu Yawen and Yang Mi became famous quickly because they starred in Lin Bufan's movies.

Zhang Bozhi believes that if she were to star in the film, it would definitely take her career to the next level.

"Hello, Ms. Zhang."

Lin Bufan shook hands with the other party lightly.

It must be said that Zhang Bozhi is very beautiful; she is stunning at first glance.

Just as Lin Bufan withdrew his hand, he suddenly felt the other person's fingers gently scratch his palm.

Seeing this, Lin Bufan gave Zhang Bozhi a meaningful look.

The fact that she was able to rise again in later years because of the scandal is undoubtedly largely due to her ability to let go of inhibitions.

"Director Lin, hello, I'm Xie Tingfeng!"

Xie Tingfeng was not as arrogant as the news portrayed when facing Lin Bufan.

"kindness"

Lin Bufan nodded slightly.

He didn't actually know much about Xie Tingfeng. After the scandal, he was quite pitiful, seeing his woman betray his good brother...

If I had to pick Xie Tingfeng's most memorable role, it would be Qiu Gang'ao in "Raging Fire: Major Cases," which he played very well.

"We can cooperate in the future if there is an opportunity."

Lin Bufan has many classic Hong Kong films in his mind. Even if he can't extract these movies through the system, he can find someone to write the scripts and make them into films.

There are quite a few characters among them that would be suitable for the other person.

"Aren't you going to thank Director Lin?"

Chen Kaige, who was standing to the side, saw Xie Tingfeng in a daze and patted him on the shoulder.

"Thank you, Director Lin. I will definitely not let you down."

Xie Tingfeng snapped out of his daze and replied excitedly.

Zhang Bozhi, standing to the side, glanced at Xie Tingfeng with some envy. She had greeted him earlier, but he hadn't mentioned anything about cooperation.

After exchanging pleasantries, Chen Kaige led his men to the location of the "The Promise" film crew.

This time, "The Promise" was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Golden Globe Awards, which is why Chen Kaige brought the team here.

Meanwhile, another domestic film was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, Stephen Chow's "Kung Fu Hustle".

However, Stephen Chow and Lin Bufan were not familiar with each other. After arriving at the scene, Chow simply sat down quietly and did not come to greet Lin Bufan.

Originally, Wong Sang-yee was the female lead in "Kung Fu Hustle," and normally she should have attended. However, due to a falling out with Stephen Chow last year, a lawsuit caused their relationship to plummet, so Wong Sang-yee did not come.

"Hello everyone, welcome to the 63rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony..."

The Golden Globe Awards, officially the Golden Globe Awards for American Film and Television, are awarded not only for films but also for American television series.

The awards ceremony began with the first awards presented, which were in the television category.

Finally, three hours later, after a song, the main topic of the Golden Globes, namely the film awards, began.

"Next up is the Best Supporting Actress award..."

The host stood on the stage, and as his voice fell, clips from several of the nominated films began to play on the big screen.
