The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

In Western culture, the meaning of kneeling varies depending on the occasion and the context; it can signify obedience, courtesy, or humiliation.

Clearly, Casey Affleck's public kneeling before Lin Bufan was not out of humiliation or submission, but rather a heartfelt expression of obedience, or even worship and respect.

Even so, everyone present was shocked.

If Lin Bufan were a Westerner, the people present wouldn't be in an uproar, but he happens to be Chinese.

That's why, when Casey Affleck went on stage to accept the trophy, the Hollywood stars in the audience, who had serious prejudices against people of skin color, looked down on him and didn't even bother to applaud.

Casey Affleck didn't care at all about this, and moreover, after the initial excitement, he didn't regret kneeling down.

Casey Affleck, born in 75, entered Hollywood in 88. Now, 18 years into his career, he is 31 years old and has remained relatively unknown.

He used to say he was a third-rate actor in Hollywood, but that was an overstatement. In reality, he was just a nobody in Hollywood.

Winning the Best Actor award this time has changed his life. He can't think of any other way to repay the director's kindness except to kneel down and pay his respects.

"Cassie, you're pretty good. I have high hopes for you."

Lin Bufan patted Cassie on the shoulder, looking very serious.

Initially, Lin Bufan viewed Cassie merely as a tool, believing that this collaboration would likely end there would be no further cooperation.

However, after Kasina knelt down in public just now, Lin Bufan changed his mind.

What's the point of collaborating with Hollywood stars who are destined to become A-list celebrities in the future?

Wouldn't it be better to cultivate your own Hollywood A-list stars?

He has so many Hollywood movies in his portfolio, it doesn't matter who he casts.

Moreover, he couldn't let Casillas's public kneeling go to waste. He wanted the whole of Hollywood to know that Casillas's kneeling to him could make him a top Hollywood star.

……

After Casey's little episode, it was time for the final and most important Golden Globe Awards: Best Director and Best Picture.

"Next, let's watch the films nominated for Best Director..."

As the host announced the nominations, clips from the seven nominated films were played on the screen.

The shortlisted films are Woody Allen (director of *Match Point*), George Clooney (director of *Good Night and Good Luck*), Peter Jackson (director of *King Kong*), Fernando Meirelles (director of *The Constant Gardener*), Steven Spielberg (director of *Munich*), Li An (director of *Brokeback Mountain*), and Lin Bufan (director of *Manchester by the Sea*).

As the shortlisted films were announced, Lin Bufan felt extremely nervous.

Compared to the Best Original Screenplay award, the Best Director award is clearly more prestigious.

"Congratulations on 'Brokeback Mountain,' Li An..."

When the presenter announced the winner as Li An, Lin Bufan was somewhat disappointed, but when the camera panned across him, he still smiled and applauded to congratulate him.

Regardless, Li An is a Chinese director, so he's one of us.

"Thank you to the organizing committee..."

On stage, Li An's voice was relatively calm.

This award marks Li An's second Golden Globe Award for Best Director, following his win for "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".

Meanwhile, the film "Brokeback Mountain" also won Li An the Golden Lion Award at the Venice International Film Festival. As early as 93, Li An won the Golden Bear Award at the 43rd Berlin International Film Festival for "The Wedding Banquet". In 95, Li An's first English film, "Sense and Sensibility", won the Golden Bear Award again at the 46th Berlin International Film Festival.

Of the three major European awards, Li An is only missing the Palme d'Or to complete his collection.

Li An's goal for this Golden Globe nomination was Best Picture, but now that he has won Best Director, he has a feeling that he might miss out on the Best Picture award.

"Next up is the Best Feature Film award..."

The Golden Globe Awards for Best Picture are divided into Drama and Comedy categories, but it is generally believed that the Best Picture award in the Comedy category is a minor, low-level award.

Six films were nominated for Best Narrative Film: *Brokeback Mountain*, *The Constant Gardener*, *Good Night, and Good Luck*, *A History of Violence*, *Match Point*, and *Manchester by the Sea*.

"Congratulations on 'Manchester by the Sea'..."

The award presenters on stage didn't keep everyone waiting for long.

"Director, you've won an award..."

Compared to Lin Bufan, the actors around him were clearly more excited.

Manchester by the Sea won Best Screenplay, Best Actor, and Best Supporting Actor, and ultimately won Best Picture, which was clearly well-deserved.

It was shortlisted for six major awards, and won four out of six.

"Thank you to the organizing committee for awarding the Best Film prize to 'Manchester by the Sea'..."

On stage, Lin Bufan's voice was somewhat excited.

Winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Picture is a significant achievement for Lin Bufan. While it may not be as prestigious as the three major European awards or the Oscars, it is still considered more valuable than the Golden Horse Awards or the Golden Rooster Awards in China.

……

With Lin Bufan winning the award, an even more eye-catching piece of news ignited the entire Hollywood and domestic scene.

The Golden Globe Awards ceremony begins at 3 p.m. Los Angeles time and ends at 8 p.m., which is noon in China.

Congratulations to director Lin Bufan for winning the Best Film Award!

Major domestic portal websites released the news immediately after the awards ceremony.

In particular, when a photo and news report of a Hollywood actor kneeling before director Lin Bufan was exposed, it ignited the entire internet.

In this day and age, there is a natural filter that people in China have towards foreign countries, especially Hollywood.

Let alone Hollywood, even Hong Kong and Taiwan stars and directors are generally considered better than those from mainland China.

Mainland China's most popular young actors and actresses, along with the "Four Dan and Two Bing" (referring to top actresses and actresses from mainland China), can only play supporting roles to Hong Kong and Taiwanese actors, and the public generally believes this is to be expected, let alone Hollywood stars.

Furthermore, Casey Affleck, who had just won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor, turned around and knelt down to a mainland Chinese director in public, instantly causing a sensation among netizens and passersby.

"I'm speechless, Director Lin is awesome!"

"I remember Director Lin's 'Love is Not Blind' is still showing in theaters. Enough said, time for a second viewing..."

"Director Lin is awesome, I'm definitely going to watch it a third time!"

In everyone's mind, what does a Golden Globe Award for Best Picture count for?

The most impressive thing is being able to get a Hollywood movie star to kneel down in public.

This incident not only impressed netizens and passersby, but also shocked people within the industry.

I thought that Lin's film "Love is Not Blind" had already made him incredibly successful by surpassing 2 million yuan at the box office, but I never expected that he would do something even more amazing.
