The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

The "Four Great Constables" trilogy had a total investment of around 200 million yuan and ultimately grossed around 550 million yuan at the box office, so it didn't lose money. As for making a profit, it was probably around 10-20 million yuan.

This is only because of the presence of many celebrities, which boosted the box office.

On the contrary, because the script was adapted from the ground up, Lin Bufan didn't know what kind of success this film series would achieve after it was made.

"Since you've chosen this film, I only have one request for you: make it well!"

Lin Bufan looked at Shen Ao with a serious expression.

He had high hopes for this adapted version of "The Four Great Constables".

"Director Lin, don't worry, I will definitely film it well."

Shen Ao nodded earnestly.

"When I get back, I'll go to the scriptwriting department and talk to them."

"Yes, Director Lin!"

"As for the actors, let Shu Chang handle the role of the ruthless one!"

Lin Bufan thought for a moment. Liu Yifei was currently in Hollywood filming the "Hunger Games" series, so it was impossible for her to come back and film the "Four Great Constables" series.

"The role of Leng Xue will be given to Deng Chao."

Lin Bufan still trusted Old Deng's abilities.

"Iron Hand chooses Collin Chou, Chasing Life chooses Zheng Zhongji, Ji Yaohua chooses Wang Zhi, Zhuge Zhengwo chooses Liu Songren, and An Shigeng chooses Wang Gang."

"You can decide on the other roles yourself."

The role of Ji Yaohua was originally played by Jiang Yiyan, but Lin Bufan will not give it to her again this time.

After much deliberation, Lin Bufan suddenly remembered Wang Zhi, who was the company's first signed actress. Ji Yaohua had action scenes, which suited the role.

The role of Zhuge Zhengwo naturally cannot be played by Huang Gou again. Moreover, compared to Huang Gou, Liu Songren's portrayal of Zhu Wushi in "The World's Number One" is quite good.

The role of An Shigeng can no longer be given to that old Bo. Compared to him, Wang Gang's Heshen is really suitable.

As for the other roles, Lin Bufan didn't care and let Shen Ao decide for himself.

"Yes, Director Lin!"

Shen Ao spent one day in Harbin and returned to Beijing the next day.

He now has only one thought: to make a good film of "The Four Great Constables." He knows that in the screenwriting department, "The Four Great Constables" is a series of films.

If he botches the first film, there's no point in even considering making the rest.

……

The arrival and departure of the Olympic bid had absolutely no impact on Lin Bufan's filming.

"Mr. Lin, Director Hong called. The day after tomorrow is the grand finale of 'The Voice of China Season 2,' and he's asking if you'll be attending."

During a break in filming, Zhang Tianai approached Lin Bufan to ask for his permission.

What's the date today?

Lin Bufan looked up at Zhang Tianai.

He's been so busy filming lately that he's lost track of time.

"Today is the 18th, and the final night of The Voice Season 2 is on the 20th."

With the first season as a foundation, the second season of "The Voice of China" became a hit after its premiere. It started airing in August, with one episode every Saturday, and lasted for more than three months. Finally, the second season came to an end.

"Who are some of the more promising players this season?"

"There's Yao Beina, Jin Runji, Meng Nan..."

Zhang Tianai rattled off a list of names.

Of all these people, Lin Bufan was most impressed by Yao Beina, and thinking about what happened to her later, he could only sigh.

Tell Hong Tao that I won't be going to the final night.

Lin Bufan waved his hand.

Compared to the final night, filming is the most important thing. As for who wins the championship, he really doesn't care, because under his leadership, there will be no behind-the-scenes manipulation in "The Voice of China".

If it works, it works; if it doesn't, it doesn't.

There's no way you can turn things around just by spending money.

……

"The weather forecast says there's a university event tomorrow, perfect for shooting this scene..."

In the hotel conference room, Lin Bufan called Liang Jiahui over.

The next scene to be filmed is five years later, showing Zhang Zili drunk on the roadside in the snow, with his motorcycle stolen.

This scene requires Liang Jiahui to portray Zhang Zili's dejection and decadence.

Amidst the heavy snowfall, a dejected Zhang Zili lies drunk on the roadside, his last motorcycle stolen – a scene that evokes strong empathy from the audience.

Of course, this is on the premise that the performance is good; otherwise, it will not only fail to evoke empathy but will also attract criticism.

The next day, just as the weather forecast predicted, it started snowing heavily outside, with snowflakes falling quickly and rapidly like goose feathers.

"Lighting and props, you have half an hour to quickly set up the shooting location."

Upon arriving at the film set, Lin Bufan issued orders in an orderly manner.

"Yes, Director!"

"Guo Fan, go check with the actors and see if they're ready!"

"Yes, Director!"

Filming proceeded smoothly amidst the busy efforts of the entire crew.

"Action!"

Leung Ka-fai plays Zhang Zili, who, while riding a motorcycle, falls to the ground due to being drunk and the slippery roads caused by the snow.

Amidst the heavy snowfall, Zhang Zili struggled for a moment, moved to the wall, leaned against it, and closed his eyes.

Five years ago, after that nightmare, he was transferred from a criminal police captain to a security guard in a dilapidated factory, and the difference in treatment was like night and day.

Furthermore, due to his carelessness, two police officers were killed, and even his wife divorced him.

These setbacks led Zhang Zili to despair.

Just then, a thief walked over, glanced at Zhang Zili to make sure he wasn't dead, and then swapped his broken-down car for the other man's motorcycle.

"Click!"

"Perfect, passed!"

Lin Bufan held the walkie-talkie with an excited expression.

Leung Ka-fai's acting skills never disappoint him.

Since filming began, "Black Coal, Thin Ice" has never been canceled because of Leung Ka-fai.

Taking advantage of the snowy weather, we filmed all the snow scenes from the movie.

It snowed heavily for three days, and the crew filmed outside for three days, basically completing all the shots.

"Next, let's move on to an indoor scene!"

The crew and lighting department had already finished setting up the indoor scenes.

Next, we filmed the scene at the laundromat.

Especially the scene where Zhang Zili and Wu Zhizhen first met at the laundromat.

When Zhang Zili first met Wu Zhizhen at the laundry shop, Wu Zhizhen was silently ironing clothes, cold and restrained. Under Zhang Zili's gaze, the atmosphere was ambiguous and oppressive.

……

"Oh, what brings you here?"

Lin Bufan had just finished a day of filming and returned to the hotel. As soon as he opened the door, he saw a familiar figure and exclaimed in surprise.

"I……"

"We'll talk about the rest later..."

Just as Lin Zhiling was about to speak, Lin Bufan picked her up and carried her to the bedroom.

"Wait a minute, I haven't washed it yet..."

"I'll wash it later!"

Lin Bufan really couldn't wait any longer.

Do you know how I've gotten through the past month or so?
