The entertainment empire began with Liu Yifei's premarital pregnancy.

"I hereby announce that filming has begun for the movie 'Guixu: The Spirit Realm of Mountains and Seas'!"

As the words fell, Lin Bufan and the other three simultaneously tore off the red cloth. As the red silk cloth covering the camera was removed, the giant poster lights in the center of the stage suddenly lit up.

At the same time, thunderous applause erupted in the conference hall.

Immediately afterwards, several women dressed in white dresses walked onto the stage from behind the curtain, carrying trays, and stood beside Lin Bufan.

The red cloth on the tray was opened, revealing stacks of red envelopes underneath.

"Red envelopes have been sent out!"

As Lin Bufan spoke, he stepped forward, grabbed a handful of red envelopes, and had them thrown to the audience.

This is a long-standing tradition of the opening ceremony. After the ceremony begins, red envelopes are given to the media, symbolizing that everyone who sees it will receive one.

Of course, these red envelopes are not very big; each one contains only a 100-yuan bill.

In total, there were only a few hundred red envelopes.

The real prize is the souvenirs given to media reporters during their check-in; those are the most valuable items.

Each gift bag was worth 2999 yuan, and hundreds of media outlets were present. The gifts alone cost over a million yuan, making the red envelope rain seem like nothing compared to that.

"Next is the Q&A session with the media."

Zhou Tao stood on the stage, and after the red envelopes were distributed, he smiled and habitually held the microphone in his right hand: "Today we welcome friends from nearly 300 media outlets at home and abroad. Considering time constraints, I will invite reporters to ask questions in order."

As Zhou Tao finished speaking, the reporters present immediately raised their hands.

"My fellow journalist!"

Zhou Tao looked at a reporter sitting in the first row and smiled as he pointed at him.

"Hello Director Lin Bufan, I'm Li Mubai, a reporter from the Movie Channel!"

Li Mubai stood up, holding the microphone, and looked at Lin Bufan.

Clearly, Zhou Tao's decision to name Li Mubai first was not only to favor his own people, but also part of the entire interview process.

"What I want to ask is, Director Lin Bufan, what was the opportunity that made you decide to make this film?" Li Mubai asked and then sat down.

"Actually, if you knew me, you would know."

Holding the microphone, Lin Bufan answered methodically: "Since my first film, I have been trying different styles of movies."

Upon hearing Lin Bufan's words, all the reporters present nodded in agreement.

Lin Bufan's debut film was "Manchester by the Sea," a very sad movie that leaves viewers unable to shake off the feeling for a long time after watching it.

Just thinking about everything the male protagonist went through in the movie, the sadness is unforgettable and gives people a suffocating feeling.

However, Lin Bufan's second film, "Love is Not Blind," is a light comedy, and is a completely different genre from his first film.

The third film, "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate," went even further into the realm of martial arts films.

The films "2012", "Lust, Caution", "Black Coal, Thin Ice" and "How Long Will I Love U" are all films with completely different styles.

Although the latter two films have not yet been released to the public, "Black Coal, Thin Ice" won the Golden Bear Award.

"Now, to answer this reporter's question, I can only say that there was no particular reason; I just didn't want to confine myself to one type of topic." Lin Bufan finished speaking and put down the microphone with a smile.

"Next!"

Zhou Tao then pointed to the next reporter.

"Hello Director Lin Bufan, I'm Wang Wentao, a reporter from the Global Times!"

Wang Wentao stood up with the microphone in hand and looked at Lin Bufan: "What I want to ask is, what kind of movie is this, with an investment of a whopping 5 million US dollars?"

The most known aspect of the film "Guixu: The Spirit Realm of Mountains and Seas" is its budget of 5 million US dollars.

As for other details, the outside world knows nothing.

"The movie 'Guixu: The Spirit Realm of Mountains and Seas' is a groundbreaking film; it's a 3D movie," Lin Bufan answered the question with a rare serious expression.

"Perhaps many people don't understand what a 3D movie is."

"To be precise, 3D movies make people feel as if they are actually there, as if the scenes in the movie are happening right in front of them, and they could reach out and touch them..."

Lin Bufan spoke at length.

The reporters present knew very little about 3D movies, but after hearing Lin Bufan's description of the scenes, they all became quite expectant.

"Hello Mr. Wenzhang, I'm Jiang Ping, a reporter from Southern Weekly!" The next reporter directly addressed Wenzhang: "Rumor has it that you got the lead role in this movie because of your wife, Ma Yili. What's your opinion on that?"

Emblem hadn't expected the next question to be directed at him. Hearing the question, he felt a little embarrassed and was trying to find the right words to answer.

If you don't answer this question well, you could offend a lot of people, either the director or your own wife.

"Regarding this issue, I feel it's necessary to emphasize it again!"

Lin Bufan, standing to the side, looked at the reporter from Southern Weekly with a serious expression: "No one in the world has ever made an exception for me, Lin Bufan."

"The reason why Wen Zhang was able to get the male lead role in the movie is because I recognized his acting skills."

Perhaps if someone else said this, the media reporters below would think the other party was arrogant, but when it was Lin Bufan, everyone felt it was perfectly reasonable.

indeed!

Who is Lin Bufan?

That's an internationally renowned director, famous both in art films and commercial films.

Looking at all the films Lin Bufan has made, no one has ever heard of anyone getting into the production crew through back channels.

With Lin Bufan's support, Wen Zhang was secretly grateful and also breathed a sigh of relief.

Now that Lin Bufan has endorsed them, who in the industry would dare to say that they got their resources because of Ma Yili?

Anyone who dares to say that again will not be offending him, but Lin Bufan.

Following that, reporters from Sina Entertainment, Sohu Entertainment, and NetEase Entertainment stood up and asked questions after being called upon.

The questions were almost all focused on Gong Li.

"Hello Ms. Jingtian, I'm Liu Yang, a reporter from Tencent Entertainment."

The next reporter called on stood up and looked at Jing Tian: "First of all, congratulations to Ms. Jing Tian on being able to play the role of the second female lead in the movie."

"As far as I know, this is your second film collaboration with Director Lin. What are your thoughts on it?"

Clearly, this Tencent Entertainment reporter's mild question suggests that someone must have intervened behind the scenes.

"I can only say that it is a great honor to work with Director Lin Bufan again..." Jing Tian answered the reporter's question with ease.

The next second, before Zhou Tao could call out a name, a reporter suddenly stood up.

"Hello Director Lin, I'm Chen Junyi, a reporter from the United Daily News!"

A female reporter, around thirty years old, looked at Lin Bufan earnestly: "I would like to ask Director Lin Bufan, regarding the casting of this film, you chose actors from mainland China and Hong Kong, but why didn't you choose any actors from Taiwan? Is this a sign of some hostility towards Taiwan?"
