Doomsday Mechs: Starting with a Manufacturing Army

As she spoke, Xu Wanqing handed over her phone.

"Look at this post."

Jiang Yi finished the last bite of food in his bowl and then took the phone.

On the forum.

The post was made at 2 a.m., and by then the replies had accumulated to over a thousand.

The person who posted the message was a user named "Cute Winnie the Pooh".

"Yesterday I thought I had the flu and was going to die, but after the fever broke, I suddenly gained superpowers."

"But this kind of ability doesn't seem to be very useful."

As he spoke, the adorable Winnie the Pooh posted several more photos.

All the pictures showed replicas of gold and banknotes, along with piles of gold bracelets and the like.

"Whose family member is the poster a corrupt official? If you're corrupt, just admit it, don't use cloning abilities as an excuse."

"Exactly, unless you share some with me."

"..."

"Wow, those banknotes all have the same serial number. They're probably not fake. Otherwise, they'd be in jail."

The adorable Winnie the Pooh expressed some disappointment in response to netizens' comments.

"I wish they would arrest me; I've been cooped up at home for ages."

"Besides, what's the point of having money? What's the difference between money and worthless paper these days? The economy has completely collapsed, and it's all being kept running by the government."

It seems they thought it was fun.

In subsequent replies, the adorable Winnie the Pooh copied many more things.

For example, toys, figurines, or pretty little dresses.

You can tell that the adorable Winnie the Pooh is a girl.

But later on, his tone started to sound a bit flustered.

"What should I do? I feel so hungry after I used my superpower."

"..."

"No, even after eating so much, it's still not enough."

"Waaah, I'm so hungry."

"..."

"I thought eating something would be enough, but when I looked in the mirror just now, I realized that I've grown more than ten centimeters taller, and my hair is longer too. When I stood on the scale, the machine showed that my body age is now nineteen."

"What should we do?"

"I'm only in junior high school, how can I look so much older?"

In the accompanying picture.

In the mirror, a graceful, well-developed girl is wearing clothes that clearly don't fit her, her face obscured by her phone.

If you didn't know better, you'd think she was a blogger who flaunted her youthful and slender image.

The replies below were also varied.

Some people questioned whether it was fake or just a publicity stunt.

Some people offered suggestions, such as going to the hospital for a checkup or contacting the authorities.

Some advised her to quickly delete her account and hide it to avoid being discovered by malicious individuals who might exploit her.

of course.

Some even used cryptic questioning techniques to try and find out Winnie the Pooh's address.

Jiang Yi scrolled through hundreds of floors.

Keep scrolling down.

But there were no further messages. After posting that photo of himself looking in the mirror with his face covered, Winnie the Pooh never replied again.

Jiang Yi was about to flip up and take another closer look.

But not long after.

With a sudden network lag, the page was forced to exit.

When Jiang Yi clicked in again, it showed that the user had already been deactivated.

"It seems things aren't looking good."

Jiang Yi murmured.

"I don't know if it was an official intervention or if the account was canceled by the user themselves."

He pondered for a moment.

He immediately put down his phone, sat back down at his computer desk, and started typing away on the keyboard.

"Is there anything I can help you with?"

Xu Wanqing's concerned voice rang out.

"No, just stay in the military region and try to use your abilities as little as possible."

As Jiang Yi searched for the girl's address using technical means, he said this.

"I feel like there's a chance we can stop you from mutating further."

There are all sorts of mutations now, and among those countless mutated abilities, there might actually be one that can solve Xu Wanqing's infection mutation problem once and for all.

"All right."

Xu Wanqing sighed slightly, looking somewhat disappointed.

She collected the bowls and chopsticks and put them in the lunchbox.

However, she didn't leave. Instead, she sat on a chair to the side, propped her chin up, and quietly watched Jiang Yi type on the keyboard.

Her beautiful eyes shone with a glint of light, her gaze lingering on something unseen, her mind lost in thought.

The forum where the girl posted was an extremely old anime and manga website.

It's called Station A.

Although it is still operating, fortunately, it doesn't seem to be paying much attention to the maintenance and technology of the website.

therefore.

It took Jiang Yi about seven or eight hours to successfully access the website's database.

According to the records, the girl's address and phone number were quickly obtained.

then.

Following standard procedure, Jiang Yi opened the box using the phone number and learned the personal information of the adorable Winnie the Pooh.

Cute Winnie the Pooh.

Name: Liu Yiyi.

Age: Thirteen years old.

She attends Jingzhou No.1 Junior High School and currently resides at Qiushui Bieyuan, No.32, a detached house.

Moreover, based on the information...

Liu Yiyi's parents are currently abroad and will not be able to return for the time being.

In other words, Liu Yiyi is currently alone at home.

Jingzhou City is located next to Yuncheng City, about a four-hour drive away.

Although it's not that far.

But this is the apocalypse, and a four-hour journey is no exaggeration to describe it as an insurmountable chasm.

But after a brief moment of thought, Jiang Yi made a decision immediately.

The ability to replicate was extremely important to him.

"I need to leave Yuncheng City."

He glanced at the darkening sky outside the lab window and looked at Xu Wanqing, who was sitting on the chair next to him playing on her phone.

"Be back by tomorrow night at the latest. In the meantime, if anyone tries to contact me, just pretend to be me and deal with the people from the military region."

Xu Wanqing also possesses Zhang Dahua's superpower, which allows her to change her appearance at any time using R-type living metal as a medium.

"……All right."

Xu Wanqing hesitated for a moment, but still agreed.

The reason for her hesitation was not that she was unwilling, but that she had just seen the address Jiang Yi was going to and felt that the journey was too far, fearing that something might happen.

However, if she were to go along, she couldn't overuse her abilities, otherwise she risked becoming a burden.

"Remember, don't stay in disguise all the time. Just disguise yourself when someone comes looking for you."

Faced with Jiang Yi's instructions and concern, Xu Wanqing felt a warmth in her heart and nodded with a sweet smile.

"Don't worry, I'll handle it for you."

"Okay, I'm taking three F-type robots and seven R-type robots with me. If anyone asks, just say we're doing distance testing, simulating remote control of 'Yuncheng-1'..."

"..."

After giving all the necessary instructions in detail...

Jiang Yi then set off with three F-type robots and seven R-type robots.

Although the military region is now under tight security.

Moreover, Fei Bozhong and others accompanied him.

But that wasn't a problem for him.

After returning to the dormitory with Xu Wanqing.

Jiang Yi and Xu Wanqing swapped clothes, made up an excuse, and took ten robots to the laboratory. Then they left the military region through the sewers.
