The Ming Dynasty: Starting with taking Old Zhu on a journey to the future

"Mother, what happened? Are you going to kill Li Yan?"

Lady Lü sighed softly.

"On my way back to the palace today, I passed an old man who smelled of sweat."

"When this man saw that I did not bow, Li Yan made things difficult for him. Who knew... because of this, His Majesty sent Eunuch Wang to tell me."

"Either send Li Yan to the sixteenth floor, or send her to the Embroidered Uniform Guard."

It seems to offer a choice.

In reality, they wanted to force Li Yan to her death.

Lady Lü was also a little puzzled as to who this old man was.

It actually angered the emperor.

Upon hearing this, Zhu Yunwen frowned.

The old man was Lan Chen.

It's probably Lan Chen's doing again.

I fear I will not be able to have peace of mind until this person is eliminated.

Furthermore, he also needed to know what his grandfather had seen in the future.

"Mother, in my opinion, this old man's status is even higher than you think."

Lan Chen once said that he could travel between the future and the past.

The distinguished guest whom the Emperor respected so much was an elderly man.

There are only three.

One was his father-in-law, Guo Zixing; another was his brother-in-law, Li Zhen; and the last was his father, Zhu Wusi.

Neither Guo Zixing nor Li Zhen came from impoverished backgrounds.

One was one of the leaders of the uprising at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, and the other was a wealthy landlord.

Although he had never met the three people, he had only heard about them from his imperial grandfather.

Based on his mother's description, he knew without a doubt who this person, dressed in tattered clothes and smelling slightly of sweat, could be.

The father of my imperial grandfather, and my great-grandfather, Emperor Injo Sun (Zhu Shizhen).

"If I'm not mistaken, the old man you're looking down on should be my grandfather's father."

"Emperor Injo Sun (Zhu Shizhen)".

These words were spoken.

Lady Lü's heart skipped a beat.

"What did you say?!"

"How is that possible?! Didn't Emperor Injo Sun starve to death when your grandfather was sixteen?"

She was Zhu Yuanzhang's daughter-in-law.

I've naturally heard about the Zhu family's past.

When Zhu Yuanzhang was sixteen, a drought and locust plague caused the fields to yield no harvest.

The court completely ignored their lives, and in the end, Emperor Injo Sun, Empress Yu, and the Prince of Namchang all starved to death.

Zhu Yunwen sighed softly: "Mother, you may not know, but that Lan Chen is a man of extraordinary talent."

"He can use a spell, anchored by his bloodline, to travel through the past and the future."

"The fact that the deceased Emperor Injo Sun would appear here is probably because he used Taoist magic."

"We brought it here from the past."

Immortal arts and magic?

Does this world really have immortal arts and magic?!

The worry on Lady Lü's face was even more pronounced.

This explains why the emperor was angry.

If she weren't the Crown Princess and the mother of the Imperial Grandson...

Otherwise, I'm afraid I'll die too.

She sighed softly, "Can we recruit such capable and righteous people?"

Zhu Yunwen let out a long sigh.

"If I could recruit them, why would I be so distressed all day long?"

"This Lan Chen is the son of Lan Yu, the Duke of Liang."

Do you think my son can win him over?

If Lan Chen were an ordinary person, he could try to recruit him.

But this person happens to be Lan Yu's son.

Lan Yu was his father's maternal relative, but not his.

"What should we do?"

Zhu Yunwen comforted her, saying, "Mother, don't worry. Although this person possesses magical abilities, he is not an immortal."

"Even with three hundred axemen, each with one blade, he'd still be chopped into mincemeat!"

Lan Chen must die.

Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to hold onto the position of crown prince.

"You should go and rest. I will handle this matter myself."

After his mother left.

Zhu Yunwen immediately summoned Huang Zicheng.

Huang Zicheng bowed and greeted the emperor: "Grandson."

However, Zhu Yunwen did not treat Huang Zicheng with the same respect as usual.

Instead, he coldly questioned, "Sir, didn't you say Lan Chen was dead?! Why is he still alive?!"

Huang Zicheng was slightly taken aback: "Lan Chen isn't dead?"

"Nonsense! I saw him in Grandfather's study!"

"Sir, you should know that we are all in the same boat."

"I can't sleep if Lan Chen doesn't die."

Huang Zicheng instantly understood what Zhu Yunwen meant.

They share both prosperity and adversity.

"Your Highness, rest assured, if this plan fails, I have another one."

Zhu Yunwen's expression softened slightly when he learned that Huang Zicheng had another plan.

Tell me about it.

"Don't tell me it's another assassination attempt."

Lan Chen has already been assassinated once, so the number of Imperial Guards around him will inevitably increase.

And they had already alerted the enemy, who wanted to assassinate them again.

Unless three hundred axemen are lying in ambush under the corridor, Lan Chen will be invited to the East Palace for dinner.

Otherwise, it will be difficult to succeed outside.

Huang Zicheng said with a smile, "Grandson, don't worry, since the assassination attempt failed..."

"Then put Lan Chen back in prison."

"Lan Chen was released without anyone in the court knowing. He was allowed to continue his duties while under punishment, but he did not achieve any merit."

"As long as this matter is brought up in court, even if His Majesty wants to protect him, he will have to think twice."

Lan Yu rebelled, and Lan Chen, as his eldest son, should be unforgivable.

The Imperial Guards not only failed to arrest him, but also allowed him to escape justice.

Where is the law of the Ming Dynasty? Where are the ancestral precepts of the Ming Dynasty?

The emperor himself said that treason was a crime for which even a prince could not be pardoned.

Even if the emperor intends to show favoritism, without a reason, it would be difficult to convince the public.

At that time.

The emperor only had two choices.

Alternatively, the case of Lan Yu's alleged rebellion could be overturned.

Alternatively, under pressure from public opinion, Lan Chen could be imprisoned again in the Imperial Guard prison.

Once we're in the Imperial Guard's prison, how could we possibly fail to kill Lan Chen?

Jiang Huan couldn't possibly be in the Jinyiwei prison all the time, could he?

Moreover, Jiang Huan is not entirely unbridable.

If the Lan Yu case is overturned, Jiang Huan, as the initiator of this case, will be held accountable.

How can we possibly stay out of it?

"Are you trying to coerce Grandfather?"

Huang Zicheng shook his head: "Your Highness, this is not coercion."

"It's not that His Majesty has been bewitched by Lan Chen's evil magic; we are here to help His Majesty regain his senses."

Zhu Yunwen listened to the plan.

The corners of his mouth rose slightly.

He smiled and said, "Sir, your plan is brilliant! You are truly my Zhang Liang."

"If this plan succeeds, my promise to you, sir, will still be valid."

"If you have any needs, please feel free to ask, and we will grant them without hesitation."

Huang Zicheng bowed and said, "Your Highness, rest assured, this time I will not let you down."

"Lan Chen is doomed!"

……

The Imperial Palace.

Zhu Yuanzhang lay motionless on the recliner, as if all his energy had been drained away.

At this moment, Wang Sancai stepped forward, bowed, and said, "Your Majesty."

Zhu Yuanzhang closed his eyes and nodded, then asked, "Hmm, did Imperial Physician Dai say what illness Lan Chen has?"

"This servant went to inquire, and Imperial Physician Dai said that Lan Chen's illness was caused by long-term use of elixirs."

Elixir?

I almost forgot, this was before Lan Chen entered the Imperial Guard prison.

He was a person who stayed at home all day practicing Taoism and alchemy.

Is it serious?

"The imperial physician said it's not very serious, and he won't die suddenly in a short time, but it's hard to say what will happen if it goes on for too long."

"Can it be cured?"

Wang Sancai shook his head.

Zhu Yuanzhang frowned, his eyes filled with worry.

This kid might die before me, right?
