Chapter 14, I'll have a bowl of glutinous rice fried rice.
If Coulson were here, he would know why Yan Shuangying had repeatedly emphasized this to him.
Constantine can solve the problem, but he's incredibly treacherous.
A cursed person who killed someone the day before, specifically the one who drank their own corpse fluid.
Previously, at most a few hundred people died, but now...
Natasha frowned: "The department only approved $500,000 for me; I have to apply to my superiors for more."
"That's too slow." Constantine lit another cigarette. "I heard this man is the richest man in all of Arikan?"
Natasha nodded.
"That makes things easier."
With her flowing black hair, Chu Renmei had already passed through the door, and the temperature in the room suddenly dropped a few degrees.
Stark lay in Pepper's arms, his teeth chattering from the cold: "Pepper, can you see what happened?"
Chili's voice trembled, clearly terrified: "I can see it too, what is that?"
Chu Renmei had already emerged from the "door," singing mournful and resentful lyrics.
Stark felt a wave of dizziness when he recalled the face he saw in the water—a self-protective mechanism of his brain.
As Chu Renmei stepped out of the door, a large amount of sewage gushed out, surging like a tsunami.
Just as the waves were about to crash over everyone, Constantine calmly stubbed out his cigarette, then drew a spell with his hands and chanted in broken Mandarin, "Demons and monsters, leave quickly!"
With a "buzz," Chu Renmei let out a shrill scream, revealing an eyeball in an odd position amidst her black hair.
"Meeting is difficult, parting is easy; now, all regret comes too late?"
Corpse fluid overflowed.
"Eastern ghosts are just too troublesome, damn it!" Constantine spat out a streak of crimson blood, which landed on Chu Renmei and rose up like sulfuric acid.
Chu Renmei let out a shrill scream, her body sinking slowly as if swallowed by a swamp.
In the end, only a head remained on the ground, then disappeared completely with a "glug".
All that remained was a ground covered in foul-smelling bodily fluids.
"What is that?" Stark asked.
"The curse, or in a more Eastern term, is called 'Ju-on', which is a curse formed after a person dies due to strong resentment. However, judging from her behavior, it is different from Ju-on, which is purely composed of malice and negative emotions."
The ingredients are very complex.
"Who are you? Were you the one who saved me just now?" Stark asked.
"Yes, I am Constantine." Constantine took out a business card and handed it to Stark.
"So, you know how this thing is formed?"
Stark's thirst for new knowledge immediately overshadowed his fear of death. "I tried analyzing it before. There was her DNA in the water. Is there any connection between that and the curse? What are their rules for killing?"
"Is this the time to talk about this, Stark?" Pepper asked nervously, looking at the stench of decaying sewage on the ground. "Did we take care of her?"
Constantine lit another cigarette: "Who's talking to you or us? It should be me, whether I've solved it or not."
"Have you solved it yet?"
"I'll tell you in the simplest, most straightforward, and most direct way: no." Constantine casually exhaled a smoke ring.
Tony Stark chuckled. "That's right. I was planning to figure that out myself. Since you understand how this thing works, I'd like to hire you as my assistant in researching it."
"Sorry, I don't like working."
"A weekly salary of $200,000, paid in cash. If my research is successful, I'll give you a lump sum of $10 million."
"Boss, when do we start work?" Constantine rubbed his hands together, glanced at Natasha beside him, and said with a smile, "Why don't you quit your job at S.H.I.E.L.D.? Your director has been overstating the budget by you, and he only gave you half a million dollars."
Natasha frowned slightly: "Where did Chu Renmei go?"
Natasha got the name from Coulson, and because of what had just happened, she now found it hard to believe Constantine.
"Well, they shouldn't pose a threat to us in the short term," Constantine said. "Right now, they should be out there killing people."
"You turned off the nuclear launch button, and now the nuclear missile has become Chernobyl," Natasha said, frowning. "Now all of New York is under Chu Renmei's threat."
Compared to the tangible Ren Woxing, Chu Renmei is more mysterious and unpredictable, and once she starts wandering around killing people as Constantine described.
Natasha couldn't even imagine how to capture her!
"Do you have a way to resolve the trouble you've caused?" Natasha asked, staring at Constantine.
Constantine raised his hands in surrender: "I'm from the Western lineage and know very little about the Eastern lineage! But I know an expert, and I need a little funding to seek off-site assistance."
"How much money do you need?" Natasha asked.
Before Constantine could answer, Stark tossed him a black card: "There are five million in this card. Ask me for more if you need more!"
"Alright!" Constantine happily tucked the card into his trench coat. "Come on, I'll take you to find the experts!"
New York, Chinatown.
The aroma of Chinese food wafted through the air, incredibly tempting.
"Are you hungry? What are we doing here?" Little Chili asked.
Stark laughed, "I've had takeout from here, it's pretty good, I really like the orange chicken."
"No, it's because I know experts who work here." Constantine stopped in front of a restaurant stained with grease, flicked his cigarette butt into a trash can, straightened his trench coat, and pushed open the door to go inside.
"Boss, one order of glutinous rice fried rice, please!"
The restaurant wasn't doing too well. The "boss" was drowsy. Hearing this, he yawned, got up, and shouted to the kitchen in Cantonese.
Soon after, a fragrant plate of glutinous rice fried rice was served.
"The fried rice here is quite good, you should try it." Constantine handed the fried sticky rice to Stark.
Stark hadn't eaten much to begin with, and after being tormented by Chu Renmei, his stamina was nearing a dangerous level.
Faced with the temptation of carbohydrates, my appetite immediately whetted.
"Then I'll eat first."
Stark took a bite and gave Constantine a thumbs up: "Good taste."
Constantine's smile held a deeper meaning as he said to the owner, "May I meet your chef?"
As they were talking, Constantine took out three twenty-dollar bills and handed them to the shopkeeper.
The boss glanced at Constantine sideways and then shouted to the kitchen.
A short while later, a middle-aged man with a crew cut and round glasses came out while wiping his hands. He paused for a moment when he saw Constantine.
"Hey, old friend," Constantine said warmly, opening his arms wide. "Long time no see!"
The middle-aged man's eyes reddened, and tears welled up in them as if he were about to cry. He raised his hands tremblingly: "Constantine!"
"Old friend!"
"Watma will kill you!" The bespectacled man casually picked up a stool and smashed it directly at Constantine!
