From American comics to becoming the mastermind behind the scenes

Chapter 19: The Walking Dead Cause Havoc in the NYPD; Stark Wants to Learn Taoist Arts

In a matter of moments, the zombies had killed all the vampires in the area.

During the process, the vampire's ultraviolet bullets didn't even graz the zombie's clothes.

Moments after the zombies left, a heavily armored motorcycle pulled up by the roadside, and a man wearing a black trench coat and carrying a silver samurai sword got off.

Even though it was night, he was still wearing sunglasses.

The newcomer was none other than Eric Brooks, the Blade Warrior who was hunting down vampires.

Upon seeing the vampire corpses scattered on the ground, Eric immediately sensed something was amiss and went over to investigate.

"The Reaper?" Eric looked at the slightly shriveled corpse before noticing the wound on its neck.

Eric's Fate Points +300

"Not a Reaper, but another 'vampire hunter'?" Eric was about to examine the wounds more carefully when the corpse suddenly trembled.

At first, Eric thought it was just a short-term nerve twitching after the corpse died and didn't pay attention. However, all the "corpses" nearby began to tremble and actually stood up again.

Even the fangs in its mouth grew longer.

"What happened?"

Eric's Fate Points +500

Eric was extremely surprised. He had clearly checked and these vampires were long dead, so why were they suddenly active again?

The next moment, the vampires that had "awakened" let out beast-like roars and pounced on Eric.

Eric immediately drew his silver longsword, which clashed with the vampire's body. However, as Eric had expected, the sword did not easily pierce the vampire's body; instead, it left a deep wound that exposed bone.

"The person who killed them altered the vampire's physical characteristics!"

Eric's Fate Points +700

Eric dared not be careless, wielding a silver longsword to fight the mutated vampires. The silver longsword still managed to damage these monsters.

Killing these monsters, however, was much more difficult than before.

"Who did this?" Eric frowned deeply...

That night, after killing the vampires, the zombies did not return to Hell's Kitchen, but instead found several "big shots" nearby and killed them all.

The case immediately drew Amirken's attention!

However, compared to the previous cases, it has not yet attracted the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The bodies were dragged one by one to the police station's morgue, each with a contorted face, clearly having died a gruesome death.

One of them wasn't even wearing pants, and probably didn't understand why people like to assassinate others while they're using the restroom.

Can't people just poop in a dignified way?

"What were the results of the tests?" George Stacy asked.

"The fatal wound was a puncture wound to the neck, and the cause of death was excessive blood loss. In fact, they had no blood left in their bodies," the forensic doctor laughed. "Given this unique wound, I even suspect that these cases were committed by vampires."

George Stacy glanced furtively at the door; everything seemed normal. A pang of disappointment shot through her: "Why isn't that bald, white man here yet?"

So all I could do was ask, "Vampire?"

"That's right, come and see." The forensic doctor showed George Stacy the wounds on the body. "They match human teeth marks, except the canine teeth are too long."

"So..." George Stacy blinked, about to ask another question, when she suddenly noticed the white sheet covering the corpse move. "A rat?"

"I just had this area disinfected, how could there be rats? Don't worry, I'll continue to examine you..." The forensic doctor's words caught in his throat as he saw George Stacy's face turn deathly pale.

Curious, I turned around and saw that the body of the first victim that had been brought in was standing upright.

George Stacy's forehead was beaded with sweat: "Is this a natural phenomenon caused by the nerves and muscles remaining briefly active after death?"

"Of course not," the forensic doctor cried, "He's standing up!"

"Fuck!" George Stacy hurriedly drew her pistol, and the second body that was brought in stood up.

The corpse emitted a low, beastly roar.

Without any warning, George Stacy pulled the trigger, the bullet piercing the heart, but the body was still moving.

"Fuck, hit them on the head! Haven't you ever seen a zombie movie?" the forensic pathologist shouted from behind George Stacy.

"What are you yelling for? Call for backup!" George Stacy snapped.

"yes!"

George Stacy and the forensic pathologist slowly backed away. The freezer containing the bodies made a "thump" sound, as if a switch had been turned on, and the bodies with unusual wounds began to "revive".

George Stacy emptied a magazine before taking down one walker.

Just when they were about to be surrounded by zombies, the rescue team called by the forensic doctor finally arrived.

A shotgun cleared the way, riddling the walkers with bullets.

"Fuck, I knew it! If a zombie apocalypse really breaks out, it'll definitely start at the police station!" shouted a reinforcement officer. "I'm going to stockpile supplies when I get back!"

With the addition of new forces, the newly resurrected zombies were utterly destroyed, leaving the entire room in a mess.

"What the hell is this thing?" George Stacy poked at the dead zombie on the ground with the barrel of his gun.

The forensic doctor said tremblingly, "Could they really be vampires? Or were these people transformed into blood servants?"

"Preserve the evidence. I'll hand over the videotapes and these things to higher authorities. This matter is beyond our scope of handling." George Stacy frowned. "Fuck, so many strange things are happening lately! Am I still in New York?"

Stark Tower.

After failing to find Chu Renmei, the three returned to Stark Tower.

Ah-you began explaining the principles of Taoist magic to Stark and answering Stark's questions.

Constantine was in the audience.

"Do you understand?" Ayou asked.

Stark nodded: "I think I understand."

Constantine, puffing on his cigarette, joked, "Now even if you die, the lineage of your Taoist temple won't be cut off."

"If you hadn't tricked me, I wouldn't be in this state!" Ah You said coldly.

Upon hearing this, Stark could no longer contain his curiosity and asked, "What exactly happened back then?"

Constantine chuckled and said, "It's all a misunderstanding."

Ah You said coldly, "Back then, I was the head of a small Taoist temple in mainland China. This guy came to the country looking for something, used me, and caused me to be expelled from the sect and almost die on the street."

"But you've come to free Alien!" Constantine shrugged. "The donuts here are absolutely delicious!"

"Fuck you, if I could go back, who would want to stay here?" Ah You cursed.

Stark had a sudden thought and smiled, "In that case, Master Ayou, how about I fund the construction of your Taoist temple, and you can focus on helping me solve some technical problems?"
