Ke Miantang's breath hitched, and her fingers clenched the fabric of his shirt.

She looked up at him; his smile hadn't faded, but a deep seriousness was surging within it.

Oh no, she regretted her impulsive decision.

Soon, Rong She picked her up from his lap and made her stand in front of the desk.

He tapped a few times on the keyboard with his fingers, then brought up a document and gestured for her to look at it.

Ke Miantang leaned closer, and on the screen was a project proposal written entirely in English, with the title "Nebula New Energy Photovoltaic-Storage Integrated Project" printed on the cover.

Below were a few lines of introduction—total investment amount, expected returns, technical route, and some charts and terms that she didn't quite understand.

She didn't know most of them.

But the system's scan was much faster than her eyes.

A few seconds later, the system's voice sounded in my mind: "Scan complete. It is indeed a new energy project document, involving some artificial intelligence technology. No abnormal content related to the system or plot has been found so far. It looks like a normal business project."

Upon hearing this, Ke Miantang's eyelids twitched, and the tension in her heart eased a little, then tightened again.

The system suspected that Rong She knew something, but she thought it was too far-fetched.

Even if Rong She is incredibly intelligent, he couldn't possibly guess that she wasn't from this world.

No, that's too scary.

"Did you understand?" Rong She pulled her closer, pressing her into his arms, and kissed her flushed cheek with his thin lips, his voice carrying a lazy smile.

"I didn't understand," Ke Miantang honestly shook her head.

Just then, the system called out in my mind: "Host, click on that encrypted folder on the right and take a look."

Ke Miantang subconsciously looked at the bottom right corner of the screen and sure enough, she saw a folder with a lock icon.

Her little hand moved from the keyboard, about to touch the mouse, when a hand with distinct knuckles covered it, grasping her fingers and the mouse together.

She was turned around.

Rong She grabbed her waist, lifted her up, and placed her on the computer desk.

The edge of the table pressed against her thighs, forcing her to sit in front of him, at eye level with him as he stood.

She was still glancing back at the encrypted folder, her legs swinging on the edge of the table, kicking twice: "I want to see that."

"No." He looked down at her. "We agreed that you would keep your promise after you read the contract."

"But I haven't finished reading it yet," she pleaded, "I want to read the encrypted one..."

Rong She raised an eyebrow and nuzzled her nose against hers: "Trying to back out?"

Ke Miantang fell silent, her lips slightly pursed.

He lifted her off the table, and she clung to him, burying her face in his shoulder and pretending to be dead.

The two walked towards the master bedroom.

"Honey, it's time for you to keep your promise."

Ke Miantang nestled against his shoulder without making a sound, pretending to be a weightless ball of cotton.

The system whispered in her mind, "Don't be afraid, host. We can sneak into the study to see Rong She after he falls asleep."

Ke Miantang nodded inwardly. The system was right; there would always be a way.

……

At one o'clock in the morning, only a sliver of moonlight shone through the gap in the curtains into the bedroom.

Ke Miantang opened her eyes in the dim light.

The system popped up a notification in my mind: "The male protagonist has entered a deep sleep."

She silently hummed in her mind, tried to move slightly, and then realized she couldn't move at all.

Rong She was fast asleep, his tightly closed eyelashes casting two faint shadows under the wall lamp, his breathing long and steady.

But his body was more honest than when he was sober. His arms were tightly wrapped around her waist, his face was buried in her neck, and his hot breath was blowing on the small patch of delicate skin under her ear. One hand was still firmly clenched in front of her chest, his knuckles tightening.

Ke Miantang's cheeks were burning, and she reached out to pry his fingers off his chest.

He was holding on too tightly; she had to pry it open several times before it loosened even a little, only to snap it back up again immediately.

She glared at him angrily; how could this person still have so much strength even when he was asleep?

Finally, she almost ripped his entire arm off her body before she managed to crawl out of his arms.

She knelt on the edge of the bed, the moonlight outlining her slender figure beneath her loose nightgown. She turned to make sure he wasn't awake before carefully moving her legs off the bed.

Bare toes probed the carpet first, confirming that it was soft and silent, before landing steadily without making a sound.

She stood by the bed, looking down at him as he slept, her heart pounding.

The lamplight cast shadows on his face, softening his sharp features and making his brows relax slightly, making him look much gentler than during the day.

She stood by the bed, looking down at him as he slept, her heart pounding. Thinking about what she needed to do, she dared not linger.

Only the wall lamps were still on in the hallway. She walked barefoot on the carpet toward the study.

"System, are there security cameras in the study?"

"System detection in progress... There are two infrared cameras, located on the upper left of the desk and the right side of the bookshelf, respectively. Signal interference is being processed and they have been blocked. The monitoring screen will remain at the state three minutes ago. The host has approximately ten minutes."

"Okay." She pushed open the study door and went in.

The curtains in the study were not fully drawn, and moonlight leaked in through the gaps, clearly illuminating the outline of the desk.

She turned on a desk lamp and sat down at the desk.

Soon, the computer screen lit up, and the login screen popped up.

She tried two passwords, both of which were incorrect. The next second, a warning popped up in the upper right corner of the screen: "If you try to enter the wrong password more than three times, the computer will automatically lock up and issue an alarm."

Her fingers hovered over the keyboard as she mentally asked the system, "Are you sure it really contains what you're looking for?"

"It's better to be safe than sorry. The system is calling the password cracking module and attempting to implant a bypass program. Okay, host, enter this."

A string of gibberish popped up on the screen, a mix of letters and numbers that she couldn't understand, but she typed it in anyway.

When I pressed the Enter key, the computer emitted a short alarm sound.

A red warning box flashed in the center of the screen: "An abnormal login attempt has been detected. The system is locked. An alert has been sent to the administrator terminal."

The next second, Ke Miantang's pupils shrank dramatically: "System!!"

"The system is trying to retract, but it's too late; the alarm has already been issued."

"Didn't you say you were a really good hacker?!"

"This computer's anti-hacking program is much more advanced than expected; it should be the latest version of the protection system. Since things have come to this, let's make a run for it, hehe."

Ke Miantang was so angry she wanted to curse, but now was not the time to settle scores with the system; she had to sneak back before Rong She woke up.

In the master bedroom, Rong She opened his eyes.

His eyes were still hazy from just waking up, but they quickly regained their clarity.
